I saw this on JPSalas site today:

"I have decided to stop making tables for a while.
I don't like the idea of my tables being modified and sold without my permission.
I'll finish Dracula and after that I'll take a break, so for now this will be my last table.

JP"

Very sand news IMO. But man, you sure do deserve a break JPSalas!
Nearly a table per month for a while now!

This is very sad news indeed. I hope JP has a nice restful break and decides to come back.

+1

To be fair JP does say in his statement 'for a while' and not forever. So i guess when the dust has settled he'll be back...so no need for alarm i guess

Also, don't forget to look at how many tables JP already released this year. He's been so good to all of us VP users already this year, any break for any reason is completely understandable.

Is there anything we as a community can do about the issues here? I understand that there's only so much technologically, but could the download section or something go "private" only for paid members who have an agreement to not redistribute? I know I would pay an MMO-like monthly fee to keep access to the work of the great designers here.

JP, WE love your tables!

Please do not punish the wrong people: this community - without your work VP isn't the same anymore.

don't let the jerks win! thmbdn.gif

but anyway, everyone deserves a break, I can understand that, too! sorry.gif

cheers

Unfortunately some people try to make money and fame this way... And take away the fun of many others that have nothing to do with it...

Big Thanks to my friend Hassanchop for this very nice dmd.

Definitely horrible news!

I hope that this is only temporary JP, always enjoyed your work!

To gwjrabbit: While your idea sounds like a good idea, I think it won't work as there will be users who will still make those illegal CDs and try to recoup their fees they pay for the access to the downloads by putting those illegal CDs on eBay or selling them by other means.

It is by the actions of a few that we all suffer.

This may not be the end for JP's tables. Let's just wish him the best, and the hopefully he will come back. It's a shame when others outside our community have to ruin our fun, and passion. Bless you JP for your hard work. I think you know how we all feel about your effort, and your great tables.

This is sad news indeed! JP's tables are all top notch and were the driving force behind me building a cabinet. Shame on Bifuca for trying to profit off the hard work put in by people like JP and others on this site. If it's any consolation, I don't think they will be selling too many of these ugly looking machines with knockoff tables. Seriously, who would want to play a game called "Mad Professor" or "Super Hero" when they can play the real games on a far superior 3 screen Virtuapin for around the same price with UVP backglasses and superior everything. This Bifuca project is all full of fail!

JP, thank you for all the hard work and dedication that you have put into this community! You deserve a well needed break, but I would love to see you return again to making tables someday soon! This place just wouldn't be the same without you!

-Mike
