I'm using a nanotech mot-ion controller in my cabinet, and have been fairly satisfied with it. I do have one issue that I've spent countless hours trying to figure out. When I hold the exit button (mapped to J4-8) Visual Pinball exits, but UVP doesn't exit. I see the UltraVP server still running, and if I have a DMD showing, that is still there.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, as I haven't seen others complaining about this. I did see one post on another board (http://www.hyperspin...t=10935&page=28) and that user didn't find a resolution either.

Do you have any hints on what I might check, or things to try? Exit works perfect for Future Pinball, but for some reason it's not killing off UltraVP when I try to exit Visual Pinball tables.

Thanks all!

Hi me-mike.

The issue lies in the FPLaunch.ahk and therefor the FPLaunch.exe.

If you know how to use AutoHotkey, you can compile your own FPLaunch.exe.

First, download the AHK software. Open the FPLaunch.ahk and find the following ...

CODE
exitEmulatorKey = Esc          ;This key/key combo will close any emulators

Replace it with ...

CODE
exitEmulatorKey = Joy8       ;This key/key combo will close any emulators

Compile the script, and you're done.

I'll see if I can find one already compiled, if this isn't working for you.

(Thanks go out to H4CK3R for this solution)

Thanks for the response Noah. I've been sick and working hard (sick of that too) and just got a chance to try your suggestion. With the FPLaunch v1.20, this works great. I'm trying a newer version v1.295 from this thread: http://www.hyperspin...ead.php?t=10935. With that, I've modified the Settings.ini file with exitEmulatorKey = Joy8, and the DMDs and UVP still don't exit fully. I'll just post back on that thread since I did see one other user with the same problem. If I get time, I'll try to compare exit functions to see if there was something special the older version was doing to kill everything off.

I'll post back here if I find a solution.

I am having the same trouble as well. I also tried joytokey for exiting in hyperpin, It works fine for exiting Visual Pinball with UVP's in hyperpin. But for some reason Future pinball tables exit right away on the button press (no 3,2,1 countdown) and Hyperpin freezes, if I use the actual esc button on the keyboard all is good. I can't figure out the conflict.

So... So far joytokey works on VP but not FP, Esc works on FP but not VP. So this still sucks, if anyone has a solution to this Please PLEASE post!

Check fplaunch manual link in my signature - there is a lot of stuff explained there about esc key and joy8

Thanks I checked it out, But I still can't get it to work, I set the settings.ini to another key besides joy8, also joy to key and if I press it in hyperpin tables menu it works, but if I load a table and try to exit, it exits right away (no 3,2,1) and freezes on FP and VP. Plus the UVP in VP is still on backglass.

If I set it up as a different joy button (other than 8) is it supposed to work? (Iwill try this too today)

The only way I have been able to get it to exit properly is by using joy to key and using the actual Esc button on my keyboard.

I'm at the point now where I'm just going to say screw it, and hack the Esc button on a USB keyboard inside my cab. Or give up on UVP backglasses alltogether.

Because there is still no real answer posted anywhere... One that says If you have a nanotech controller in your cab and want to run FP, and VP with UVP's in hyperpin "Do this, and the exit problem is solved."

I just finished switching the exit button config to joy14 (instead of joy8), SAME THING, either VP works but FP crashes. I tried joy to key as well (setting joy14 to Esc) Still crashes.

I am going to go get another keyboard today and hack it to work, this is way too frustrating.
Unless someone else has a simple answer I think this is the way to go if you want to use
Future Pinball, Visual Pinball with UVP's in the same cabinet as your nanotech controller and \hyperpin. Quickest and easiest FIX.

Untill someone posts an easier way this is what I'm doing. whtflag.gif
