DO NOT unzip the roms!!!!!

Roms are supposed to remain zipped when you place them in the roms folder. That is the only way they will work!!!!

A couple of questions if I may:

1, Which operating system are you using? (i.e. XP, Vista, Windows 7)

2. Did you run the VPinMAME setup program and verify the paths to the folders? (Setup program should be found in the Pinball directory if you installed it via the VP Installer from this site or the Visual Install Pack from Pinball Nirvana)

C --> Program files --> Visual pinball --> Setup exe --> Setup paths

Make sure you have:

Roms: C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\roms
Configuration: C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\cfg
NVRAM: C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball
Samples: C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\samples
Screenshots: C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\snap

I had the same problem at first. Remember to put all the Roms into the ROM file.
Hope I helped!

In windows vista and 7 you have to run VP as administrator. You right click the VP icon and click run as administrator. You can also right click the VP icon and go into preferences and set it to run as administrator every time.
If you have a widescreen 16:9 monitor and want to play your VP9 desktop tables without them being stretched, check out This Link

you need also all vbs scripts needed by your table in tables directory

can you elaborate more, what tables give you this message, is there any vpm table that works, is there any vp table that works, what are your installation directories, what install program did you used, visual install pack from pinball nirvana or vp installer from vpforums, or none of them?

i suggest you read the installation guide (getting started red menu on top of the page) and go step by step through installation

visual install pack is not from vp forums, it is from pinball nirvana.
vp installer is from vp forums.
but any of them is good.

did you check all the steps and tips in installation guide?

do you have "visualpinmame setup.exe" or vpinmame "setup.exe" (name depends on your install pack) set to run as admin also (and maybe compatibility mod)?

can you try test button from vpinmame setup window? You can test any rom from there, try inserting coins and starting games, and check if you hear sounds. if you do vpinmame is working.

Roms go into a rom folder, if there is not one, make it. the pinmame program will search for a zipped rom only any UNZIPPED ones will NOT work at all, here are two pics; one is my rom folder see how they stay zipped? the other is my table folder. The VBS files must be in the same folder as the table is... see that list?
