Well, I spoke too soon.  Although that made the joystick visible to Windows and DOFLinx, unfortunately, now none of my buttons work.

I've checked them in Pinscapeconfigtool and they aren't working there now, either.

No physical changes have been made, so now I'm really at a loss because not one of my buttons are working and I don't know where to go from here.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated at this point.

We need someone using a Pinscape with buttons and a plunger working in Windows to share the driver name and version.  Unfortunately I do not use buttons on my Pinscapes in my cabinets and do not have my test Pinscape at present.

If anyone can and is willing to help, I'd really appreciate it.  Now my plunger is working but not one of my buttons are working so now my cabinet is totally down. :(

I've tried resetting the board, changing USB ports around, adding a USB hub in the middle, changing every single port to output a number 1 so any button pressed on any port should enter a number 1 in notepad, and have tried countless other things and am simply getting no response from any button whatsoever.

Is it possible I somehow broke or damaged the board or is this a driver issue?  I'm wanting to say driver issue, but I haven't even been able to find a driver for this board so I don't even think there is one and instead it's just a built-in USB Windows driver that I can't change anyway.

I'm so frustrated with this and am scared nobody will have any answers. :(

Ok, some good news and some bad news.

I got all my buttons working again by reprogramming the KL2 board.

My plunger now shows correctly in Windows with all 32 buttons and the ability to calibrate it (Which I will NOT do in Windows, right?).

Now I'm back to everything working except the plunger still isn't working for FX2/3/Zaccaria.

Here is what I've used in my DOFLinx.ini file.

######## PinScape Plunger ########

PLUNGER_AXIS=Z
PLUNGER_JOYSTICK_NUMBER=1
PLUNGER_KEY=0D
PLUNGER_PULL_POINT=33000
PLUNGER_RELEASE_POINT=65000

What am I missing?

Thanks so much for all your help and for all you do for all of us. :)

Correct do not calibrate in Windows as per the Pinscape instructions.

Good news that you can see everything in Windows.

The settings you have in the DOFLinx.INI  look pretty normal.  Can you now "see" the plunger in the DOFLinx test screen?  Provided that you can "see" the plunger in the test screen, if you run DOFLinx with DEBUG=2 (1 will show the DOFLinx screen, 2 will log the same details without showing the screen) what do you get?  To answer that can you delete DOFLinx.LOG then restart everything, load a game, try the plunger a couple of times and post the LOG file.

I do see the plunger when I right click on the DOFLinx screen then left click on Test Joystick.

I set it to Debug=2 and did exactly as you said.  I started an FX3 table then pulled and released the plunger exactly 10 times.

22-Feb-23 19:43:17.006 - Joystick # 1 detected : 32 buttons   Z-Axis

= Yay !

There is no logging of just when the plunger is checked, on;y when it triggers, so nothing else of value in the LOG just yet.

I'll revise my thoughts on your INI.  You should swap these two values....

PLUNGER_PULL_POINT=33000
PLUNGER_RELEASE_POINT=65000

The pull point is when to recognise that you've pulled the plunger, the release is a point it passes on the way back in when it sends the key stroke.  As such, the release point should always be < the pull point.  Sorry I missed that.

Ok, thank you very much for thinking of me.

I will reverse these numbers and retry and report back in just a few.

Thanks again.

Ok, I reversed the numbers and tried again.  This time I tried to pull the plunger only 7 times.

Didn't work. :(

PLUNGER_PULL_POINT=33000
PLUNGER_RELEASE_POINT=65000

The pull point is when to recognise that you've pulled the plunger, the release is a point it passes on the way back in when it sends the key stroke.  As such, the release point should always be < the pull point.  Sorry I missed that.

Hello, just checking in today to see if you have been able to come up with anything I might be able to try to get this working.

Thanks!

While I'm waiting to see if DDH69 can come up with a solution, I'm curious to know if there are any guides on how to set up X360ce (I think that's what it's called).

I'd rather use DOFLinx, but if we can't figure it out, I need an alternate solution.  Is this the only other solution?  Does anyone have a link to a video or step by step guide?

I took a look at the program and can't figure out how to set it up or what to do with it.

Thanks.

Did you correct those values by reversing them as per my last post?

Yes, I did, and reported back above.  I wish that would have worked but it made no difference, unfortunately.

Sorry, don't know how I missed that.  Have you had any success with the DOFLinx test screen for the plunger?

What do you mean exactly?  Do you mean when I right click on the DOFLinx window and click on Test Joystick?  That's all working properly now as previously discussed.

If you mean something else, let me know and I will test right away.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to get X360ce to work, either.  It says it's incompatible with my Pinscape board and gives an error.

Does anyone know of anything at all besides DOFLinx or X360ce that would make the plunger work in FX2/3?

I really want to get DOFLinx working with the plunger as it's the easiest and I've had the best luck with it as far as reliability, but apparently I've stumped the master himself lol!
