My VP is totally messed up. can't play anymore. HELP PLEASE!!

Wrong place... If you have a setup issue start a post and describe your issues in detail and post pictures if possible. Just saying you can't play anymore does not help.
Pic at post 1837.

I recall seeing a similar weird lined artifact effect on my old laptop which was having problems with it's discrete GPU at the time, the GPU later died completely.

By the way, @toxie should we be submitting bug reports for 10.8.1 yet? I just tested it out with VR and major issues with missing playfield textures/VR cabinet textures etc.

Hi.

I have a problem when I am running VPX GL64, where my flipper, start and some other buttons doesn't work anymore. The plunger button and coin button do work fine. I have tried to remap, but it still doesn't work. In VPX 64 and VPX 10.7 all buttons work fine. I recently did an update through pinup popper that may have created this issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated :-)

Popper update may have changed your controller buttons.    Check under Popper setup tab, then controller setup and see if your button assignments might have changed.    This has happened to me in the past.

Not sure if this a known issue (admittedly didn't read through the last 10 or so pages in this thread), but the latest core.vbs script breaks the P-ROC-based Cactus Canyon Continued. The game starts, DMD and music is on but no ball added to the shooter lane and flippers don't work either.

Reverting to an older core.vbs (dated the 20th of December 2023) fixes this problem.

So far I didn't find any table that has a problem due to the older core.vbs with VP 10.8 RC 3, but it's reasonable to expect that there is a reason for the ~3K file size increase and sooner or later there will be something that's broken now.

...and this core.vbs / PROC table issue can easily solved with JARR3's vpinballx.starter and the .precmd / .postcmd feature.
Take a look at this and you will fall in love with this tool

OK, got it. Thanks for pointing to the corresponding GitHub issue.

I tried to search there but didn't see an issue related to sam.vbs which also doesn't work for me with 10.8 RC3. As soon as I replace this script with an older one from, say, January this year, the SAM tables start to work again (like Iron Man, for example).

Since there are so many SAM tables, I think this has got to be a known problem as well. Wonder what did I do wrong when searching for this in GitHub.

You downloaded the wrong version. Check on github and make sure you grab the one that has SC in the name. Then all your sam tables will work

Isn't sc only for sam colored roms ?

My sam tables works fine with rc3 (and newer)

-sc is specifically for colorization projects completed using the Pinball Browser software and for the later S.A.M. tables that support loading via the side channel serial cable. Recall that these projects were more done to colorize the real machine rather than supporting vpins. The method allows use of available memory storage beyond the size required by the original unmodified game code for colorization data. The VPinMAME -sc variant simply allows players to pass through the file size integrity check without reporting an error. You will still need to set the table up to "Ignore ROM CRC errors". If you only use Pin2DMD or Serum colorization projects (vni/pal, pac, crZ) then you don't need the -sc variant at all.

In vpx 10.8 RC3 It is possible to modify table option like x,y offset without the need of .ini file to store the changes? So like in vp 10.7 I mean, it seem not work on 10.8 RC3

Tournament file export requires a valid DMD script connection to PinMAME via 'UseVPM(Colored)DMD:true

Hello,
What can cause this error message?  Tournament file export???

It appeared when I tried to save the POV settings in the latest Roller CTycoon from VPW.

It was a first time install so I did not have any .ini file already.

Loaded an other .8-64 table and there it worked fine. Went back to the RCT tried to change pov but same error.

Then I quit the pov settingmenu in the regular taskbar I chose Export Pov so I did create an initional .ini file.

Tried it again, no luck but going back and trying it again...all of a sudden it worked and I could save the POV.

So, it's ok now and I do not have a clue why it (didn't) work but would like to ask/report.

Just updated my cab to VPX.8 32/64 so all files to latest, using the GL version (in this case 64bits) and Freezy's dll's for my pin2dmd.

Thanks!

I'm getting pretty severe frame rate slow down on my current table now that I've added all the toys, also some crashing problems. Last time my 10.8 was crashing, someone said "grab the newest version!" and it worked, but this time it seems I'm up to date. I don't think this table is anymore complex than my last ones, AND I just upgraded from 12 gb of ram to 36, and it's still running slowly. Any thoughts as to why?

I'm not blaming the last version of 10.8. I probably need to delete something but I don't want to gut the table only for it not to help.

I've encountered a weird edge case, and can't say for sure whether it's a 10.8 issue or PBX issue, but repeating it here to cover the bases.

When launching Batman 66 PBX in 10.8 (RC4, 64/32 GL and non), in 3-screen mode, from PinballX, the FullDMD glitches and doesn't play the intro video. It otherwise works fine, as do other pup-requiring tables. It will rarely/sporadically work one time only immediately after reboot.

It does not happen when launching straight from VPX; nor does it happen if launching from PBX with a 10.7.4 build; nor does it happen in any build if the table is set to 2-screen mode. Nothing obvious in any logs, and there's no pup log since it's an original.

Seems to be a weird, very specific interaction...? More fully discussed here: https://forums.gamee...man-66-and-pbx/

Running the latest 10.8 beta. It looks like the Gottlieb system 1 tables are not working here any more. This is Sinbad, close encounters. Is there a known issue here. Maybe there is a new script needed.

Aren't these the tables that had the roms redumped?

I try to assign my cab buttons to the Tweak Menu F12 but it doesn't work (brings me to pinmame volume control and when I changed the vpmkeys.vbs volume control to another button nothing happens). I suppose its a bug, but has anyone figured it out yet?

Saw that this issue is dated, but it's strange nobody from the development team has done anything about it. They are cab users too I suppose?! And missing the tweak menu on the cab is a mayor shortcoming I think.
