Yes.. We did some work for VPX already to encapsulate more parts of the rendering core, but its still a bit on the messy side and also a pretty thin layer (to get most of the performance).. Also some work was done to make parts of the sound work platform independent (via Bass)..

The majority of work though would be to have the UI and the VBS part (plus minor part: all the input code) mapped to something else..

Possible bug : Under key/Dof settings, if I check or uncheck an option they don't seem to stick. Please verify that it is not only me.

I noticed that in the beta if I add an image (I was adding an .hdr for an environment) when I would check under the list of available options for the environment, the file I just added was not there.  I had to re-open the image manager and "OK" out of it again for the file to show.  I was able to reproduce this a couple of times by adding other files.

Ah good catch...The internal structures are only updated when you press the OK button but because the image manager isn't modal anymore you could let the manager dialog open and you won't see the images you've loaded before. I'll try to update the structures when after loading/deleting images

I was adding a ball image in the latest beta and noticed this bug is still present.

rev3029 is up:

- camera mode: holding flipper button to increase/decrease camera settings

This is really great and a nice time saver.  I've noticed a lot of people, in the past, asking if there was a way to avoid clicking the key for each single increment.  One suggestion... make a slight delay before the "auto" increase/decrease kicks in so it's easier to fine tune the single increments without it making too much of a jump.

Would it be much work to be able to export/import table script ?

"Enable nudge filter" and "Enable mouse during play" options ... still sticks for me.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Don't know but is it really necessary? Simply press ctrl+a to select all and then copy paste it to the other table.

Please use a DX that still works with Win 7. As far as I know it's DX 11.

What if that is not what I want to use it for ? Feel that some of you are used to windows, where everything is done by pressing something in a gui :-)
One idea I have is to open several tables by script, validate that they contain eg. safe dof exit code. So, what I really want is just the export and exit.
Guess, an import would also be nice if the export works ;-)

Not a bad idea to put some of this code into git ??

Along the lines of the nice improvements you have made in camera/light mode... I was wondering if we could have a hotkey to switch from portrait to landscape (0 and 270) and back within camera/light?

I would love to see volume and balance sliders for each sound in the Sound Manager.  More & more people are starting to use PMD (Poor Man's DOF - Sound Driven Tactile Feedback) and the ability for a user to be able to fine tune their tables with sliders would be awesome, as adjusting the script for individual volume and balance enhancements is too daunting a task for many.

Cheers

Thalamus, I was thinking something I would like, but I think an external program would provide what I would like.  I would like to search all of my tables or at least search all until one is found with a specific text in the script.  I sometimes want to change a script but can't remember which table has what I'm looking for.

Small bug with the new space function to switch between table/backdrop: it still works when you are renaming something in the sound, image, materials and collection manager windows :)

Very easy to do, once the ascii text exists outside of the tables. Come to think of it, even the ability to export/import POV and Physics via cmd-line would be very nice. Most of the tables in my cab is already structured. It would be easy to decide from eg. pinballx that a table isn't exported yet. The ability to import isn't that important for me. But, export would be pretty damn nice to have.

I remember from a while back that the vpt or vpx file format was some microsoft file format,  Does anyone know where to look for more info.  I want to be able to extract the script text from a vpt or vpx.

Feature request for slingshots rubbers.

Would it be possible to have a sling rubber and add the sling function to it rather than using a wall? Could the area between two points on the rubber but changed to a "trigger" to do what the walls have typically done for us? It would be nice to be able to not rely on walls for triggers for slings and rubber hit animations. Thanks

Whats the consensus on changing from VP units to actual measurement units (Inch/mm)?  Is this even feasible?  My biggest annoyance with things in VP is how they are not correctly sized.  Even the default table doesn't set a good example for proper sizes.

Freezy has spent some time figuring out the VP file format - a little Googling will help you find info posted to other sites that I'm not sure I can mention here.  However, I'm pretty sure I can reference some of his work over at GitHub - check out the code at: https://github.com/f...t/VisualPinball

so funny as I tried WinRar, didn't think of 7-zip.   With 7 I found the script under GameData. Awesome thanks. I'm on my way now
