I am still getting a plunger sound firing delay with 8.10

Hi @DDH69 I have DOFLinx question for you

I have both MAME and Visual Pinball x on the same Launchbox/BigBox setup. For MAME I use DOF2DMD to show logos on my zedmd and for VPX I use dmdext. Problem here is when I switch, as for now I run the following commands through BigBox when starting and exiting game/tables:
DOFLinxMsg START_DOF2DMD when exiting vpx table
DOFLinxMsg STOP_DOF2DMD when starting a vpx table

But unfortunately it doesn’t always work, either there is no pinball info in vpx or no logos on the zedmd when going back to BigBox. I suspect there is some timing that is causing this issue when running manually commands the same time when starting/exiting so I wonder if I can use Doflinx to do this automatically instead?

I suspect you are correct about timing.  DOF2DMD takes a moment to startup and link to FlexDMD, the shutdown is generally pretty quick.  There were some changes made to startup speed in DOF2DMD, do you have the latest version?  The START_DOF2DMD command does the same work as DOFLinx does if it autostarts DOF2DMD, so the way you are doing it sounds like the best one at present.  Have you tried adding a delay in your before / after script as a test?

 

Happy to look into it more with you if you like.  Just start up a separate thread so we can keep track easily and post logs, etc.

I had the latest versions when I got the issue, but see now that there a already new versions released a couple a days ago for DOF2DMD and ZeDMD. Will try to upgrade when I have time again. 

As a note on this, I downgraded DOF2DMD, ZeDMD, and DMDext last weekend and it worked as it should with the commands to DOFLinx. 

 

l will start a new thread and update you if the issue still persist after the upgrade.
