Should be simple to code.
Hopefully it won't be too much on people's systems. Is the body set as static now?
Is it a lot of polys?

You guys are awesome! I'm always hesitant about pointing out things cause I don't want to sound like I'm complaining.  I really do appreciate all your talent and effort!

Edit: Check out a setting of 310. His collar seems to come to approx. the same spot on his ears as in the video and at that height the shadow not moving is barely noticeable.

I feel the same way but I don't mind things being pointed out to me that are valid points that contribute to a better result.  Some times you need someone else's fresh eyes after you've been looking at something too long.

The body is currently rendered as static, however it is really low poly, its only around 300 faces triangulated.  Maybe this would be asking too much on this, but maybe it would be cool if there was an option or way to easily opt out on the effect....so if people find that this is the straw that breaks their video cards back they can just disable it?  I guess people could always just comment the portion out?

The jacket and body are 2 different mesh's, mainly because I kept getting bad texture baking bugs when I would render them as 1 mesh, so I kept them separate...also the jacket has a decent poly count to have details like the folds in his jacket and collar.

Ok LoadedWeapon.

This is the version with the primitive ball arm animation.

The head lowered to 320.

the ball stuck on gate fixed

Ball collision added

Ball Rolling added

And the head shadow animation

the animation didn't effect my fps at all

if you dont want it just comment out the contents of the updateFB subroutine

Nice UW, looks good.

[edit] okay I've been staring at it for a couple minutes now, there's just 1 frame when he turns his head to the left (his right) where the shadow seems to lag behind a bit.  Other than that its almost a perfect match....maybe I could have made the 'tweens' better.  Might be safer to have that frame go ahead of the head movement?

Wow, took me for ever to get a multi-ball, but I finally got Frank to hold the ball and it looks perfect!

I agree with you dark, on the shadow lag, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from just new one way he turned it look kinda Stop motion.

Fantastic job everyone, this one gave you a little trouble but you guys have got some mad skills!

I'm going to bed too, wore myself and this game out trying to get multi-ball lol.

The shadow is easy to adjust.
I just did the 7 images by the rotation degrees.
If someone wan ts to play with it just search for the subroutine uupdatefb

There is a case statement in there.
It goes -45. -33. -22 0. 22. 33. 45
The 22 and 45 and -22 and -45 should be ok.
It's the 33 and - 33 you can play with

If you come up with better numbers please post them. Just remember don't go above 45 or below -45 on any of the number and zero shouldn't need changed

Just an idea, could you have another primitive , putting it at the bottom of the neck solely to act as a shadow, kind of like the shiny dome for R2 in Star Wars (although in this case, we would sync up the rotation with the head)?  I know the shadow wouldn't follow the contours of the body, but it might not look that bad?  Like I said, just an idea.

Also, you can shrink the size of this table down by at least 25 percent if you delete all the un-used images.  You obviously don't need all the wall animations for Frank anymore, but you could probably get rid of the GI Flasher pics since they're primitives now.  That's not even mentioning making all the LED bulbs (e.g. above the North Pole VUK), or Pop Bumpers primitives.  And of course you'd have to get rid of everything that used those images (there's a ton of stuff to the left of the table that isn't used anymore.

Finally got around to playing this beautiful table a lot this weekend.   Absolutely love the new Frank.   The ball actually going in to hands is the bomb.   The first time I got multi-ball,  I watched the ball leave his hand and be thrown right down the drain.    I said, crap then smiled as that was the coolest thing I have seen in awhile.   Man, that is fun.  The rom said say "Get Ready".   LOL.
