Well.. I hope more tables would be that "shitty" UW. Love that table, and the gameplay is one of the many reasons.

WTF! Shitty gameplay... just don't get that. I have had some stuttering issues with Win7 but I would never call the game play shitty and the table is absolutely brilliant, Makes me angry even I had nothing to do with this great table. Sometimes you just need to ignore comments from people who clearly don't know what they are saying ![]()

how the hell is it shitty the gameplay is awesome and this table looks just as good as most FP tables (without the shitty physics now that IS shitty gameplay). and if frank gets stuck reset him in the adjustments menu! he gets stuck on the real table too i've seen it happen it's not a bug.

Interestingly, I went back a few days ago to the previous version (1.1?) of MB. Love the smoothness of everything, it plays very slick. But after playing it for a while, it becomes obvious its missing the shitty gameplay found in your recent versions. Seriously though, the shots and ball movement of the recent version make the old one seem like I am playing a video game, as opposed to the simulation aspect of the new versions. Well done!
My friend, how many people have said your tables are awesome? Focus on these comments, not one off the cuff comment for someone who probably did not mean it as it sounded.

.WinXP FTW
However I'm getting some strange behavior with the Frank targets. As someone else mentioned, it happens that those red targets are always down. Or it may happen that they work correctly first, then all of a sudden hitting them is not registered anymore. I even had cases when they were up but the ball went straight through them.
All of these cases can be fixed temporarily by deleting the nvram, but that becomes tiresome to do after each gameplay, not to mention that then the high scores are also lost.
But one of the problems will return within the first or if not then the second game after wiping nvram.
Am I the only one with this recurring issue?
.
I also had this happen during my testing but I am on 7 64bit .... I solved it by changing my settings (whatever I was adjusting) save the table then close it and then exit VP ... if I try to save the table changes and run it again VP errors out while loading .... if I save it close it then open it again I get the problem with franks targets as you describe. I have to exit VP with file and exit in order to not have that problem. I have never had to delete the nvram
I followed your method and it indeed appears to have fixed the Frank issue. I played several games and there was no erratic behavior anymore. I hope it stays like this ![]()
Thanks.

I'm a bit new to the VP scene and have been building out the foundation for a full size cab. I've been running 9.1.5 for about four dozen tables without issues. This one is the first to need 9.2 (got the TriggerSingleUpdate issue mentioned in an earlier post). So, the table now fully initializes and UVP, sound and virtual DMD display fine. However, the playfield shows silver cubes instead of objects.
Here's my platform specs:
CPU: Intel Haswell i5-4570 @3.2GHz
GPU: GeForce 9800 GT driver 331.82
RAM: 4GB
OS: Win7 Home Premium 64-bit
Primary Display: Sceptre X409B 39" running 1920x1080 @60Hz 32-bit
Secondary Display: Sceptre X20WG 21" running 1680x1050 @60Hz 32-bit
DirectX 11.0
Any thoughts?

To all who are having problems with framerate issues, try the following and let me know if it made a difference for you:
Before proceeding, you need to have some knowledge of Windows and the registry. If you don't and you mess something up, I can't be held responsible. Ok, still willing to try it? Try this:
The following refers to the path on my win 7 64bit pc. I can't say if that will be the same for you:
- load up registry editor
- navigate to hkey_current_user\Software\Freeware\Visual PinMame\mb_10
- on the right side, locate "ddraw" and double-click on it
- where it says "value data", replace the "1" with a "0" (no quotes!, just put the number zero instead of a one)
- Click "ok"
- Quit out of the registry editor
- load up VP/Monster Bash and report back if it made a difference in the smoothness of the ball.
This is an old trick, I remember using this a long time ago but since I got my decent PC, I had never re-enabled the option. Well, it makes a big difference, with this table anyway.
Please report back, hope it worked for you as it did me. And if you had some problems before, please take a second to thank Uncle Willy for an incredible job.

Loafer
Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately all of my roms already have ddraw set to 0. I do this whenever I load up a table for the first time. It helps with sound loop issues when I exit from a table.

I just tried the DDRAW=0 in the registry. Frame rate still goes no higher than 40-50 FPS. Other tables on my cabinet will exceed 1000 FPS.
Thanks for the suggestion though. It puts the DMD into the proper aspect ratio. :-)
Also BIG thanks to Uncle Willy for a fantastic table! It is true art!

In case it helps.. I've noticed that the game is smoother when launched from Hyperpin. Would not be able to explain why.
Also, since I've installed a second amp for the inner sounds, I'm paying much more attention to the sounds in general.
I'm not an expert, but with this game it seems that scoop and kicker sounds have been inverted. Could someone check this and let me know if I'm wrong?

I have one slow ass'd desktop machine I play around on setting up tables for my cab. I have very little stutter on it so my hoss of a cab PC should handle it just fine.
Like some have said already UW, some people just like to stir things. If he didn't like MB than he just doesn't like VP, cause you table is a blast to play! You and randr knocked this one out of the park!

I keep having to delete the nvram for MB in order to make the Frank targets come up

maybe this table needs to be renamed to PClover edition, instead of PCkiller:
as posted in the dev thread, with the new DX9 build i am getting nice FPS on my 1.3 ghz intel atom with integrated graphics:
Monster Bash 2.1 PCkiller edition (daymod, with fading GI set to ON)
DX7: 9 FPS avg
DX9: 88 FPS avg (woohooooo!)

it is for testing purposes only. to use it please select "windowed fullscreen" in the resolution setup, and dont forget to run as admin.
All sorts of crazy bugs still in this test version, but MB seems OK
edit:
I tried an EVEN slower machine, a netbook with intel GMA4500 graphics from 2007, this has a whopping 700 3dmark06 points......
MB 2.1 pckiller edition
DX7: crash
DX9: 29 FPS avg

Yes, there are still a lot of bugs, it is a work in progress. But you can run in fullscreen. Just select the resolution marked "windowed fullscreen" in the windowed section
