and in both of the draw functions at the bottom add after the other params  expand_to_fill=True:

flip = self.dmd_flip

 

You sure this does not involve some editing of sdl2_displaymanager? I tried to insert this snippet code as an additional parameter for the sdl2_DisplayManager.inst().screen_blit calls and as a separate instruction after the sdl2_DisplayManager.inst().screen_blit call, but I guess that's not what you meant. It's no big deal, I'll just hardcode the flip and wait until you have an update.

 

Just to be clear, this was the one asset that doesn't appear to be getting flipped:

I coded an ahk launch script for PinballX that extends vp_proc_loader.exe for my particular configuration (changes DMD screen resolution, invokes a joy to key mapper, etc.). The one thing is that vp_proc_loader successfully kills the C error screen but it does not return focus to VPPlayer. The script re-activates VPPlayer after assets are done loading.

 

For now, I added ED as a separate system in PinballX.ini. I generated some media and everything works just fine from PinballX.

If I run vp_proc_loader from the command line, focus does not return to VPPlayer after the assets have completed loading. In other words, I have to pull out the keyboard and alt+tab or move the cursor to the VPPlayer window and activate. Could just be my particular system.

The asset loading screen is flipped. Just this Let's go, Player 1 screen is not flipped. Again, could just getting this because of the way that I am hard coding the flip in sdl2_displaymanager.

If you are going to commit the screen flip option at some point then I'll just wait around for an update. Game itself plays great so far. I haven't gotten very far with it yet.

On running vp_proc_loader, no difference when running as admin.

 

Not really a problem for me. I've set up my script to work around it. If no one else reported this issue, then no need to try to fix anything on my account. It's great that you are updating to use the new core. At least, that might avoid some confusion on install.

Yeah the 0 there's for default in config. I did try with just setting it to 2, didn't play a full ball but noticed the only thing not flipped was the asset loading.

 

Pygame would work slight different way but possible doing the surface like https://www.pygame.o....transform.flip. Maybe it could be done in the draw function in the desktop pygame, same as other.

 

 

Tried to figure it vertically flipping the DMD for CCC, but my Python ignorance is getting the best of me. Not sure how to identify the surface object that goes into the first parameter. Seems like it should be "screen" according to this

but no go. No go for "frame" either.

 

Tried capturing the reference into another variable using https://www.pygame.o...lay.get_surface

 

Have any other hints?

Right, been trying to use that instruction right before pygame.display.update() in the draw function. I'm trying to find out what name the game is using for the 'Surface' parameter for pygame.transform.flip(surface, false, true)

Thanks for adding DMD flipping as an option and for updating to work with the latest VPinMAME vbs scripts. I'm able to run with the latest VPX beta and core.vbs. It also fixed the issue with that one Player 1 launch screen (Let's go, Player 1) not getting flipped. It's all good. :otvclap:

I've restarted installation from scratch three times, to no avail.

Arngrim himself doesn't understand why Evil Dead crashes on our machines. He let us download his P-Roc\Games\EvilDead directory, to no more success.

 

I can't understand why I've got this ascii coded can't decode error - I have no skills in python.

 

That's why I afford your help, just in case I'm missing a little detail ;)

Hi Chepas, thanks for your answer.
 
When I talk about installation, I mean P-Roc and Python (delete P-Roc folder and uninstall Python from Windows Program remove panel), and running proc_env_installer again, then setuphelper.
 
The game by itself doesn't work, I've got the same error when I do a Python game.py, while P-Roc is loading files in the DMD window, when the progress bar reaches the end.
 
The steps described on the Wiki are the exact ones I did.
 
The print pinproc.EventTypeBurstSwitchOpen returns the attended value 6.

 

I will try again and report back ;)
