Hello !

I just add the script lines for SSF in the ini files  ... and it works GREAT !

A BIG BIG BIG THANKS to DDH69 !!!!  :otvclap:  :love39:

But... the SSF sound volume is so high than the pincab nudge alone when the ball touch the bumpers !!!  :shok:

How can I do to reduce the SSF volume ??

Thank you !

Obviously you have your general volume control for your system and can adjust for individual programs, ie DOFLinx.  I'm no expert in this as I don't as yet have a full SSF setup (getting there).

Alternatively, within DOFLinx you can adjust from 0 - 100 % the volume of any sound that will be played.  To do this adjust the volume component of the LOAD_SOUND= parameter in All_Pre.FX . You can read about it a bit in the guide, but here is a sample line at full system volume (the default), and then the same line at 60% of your system volume.

LOAD_SOUND=LNudge,100,LEFT_REAR,Nudge_1,Nudge_2,Nudge_3

LOAD_SOUND=LNudge,60,LEFT_REAR,Nudge_1,Nudge_2,Nudge_3

Thank you  DDH69

Load_sound command is not a smart solution in this case... because I want to adjust ALL sounds

Ok, I will try to adjust volume with pinup game manager but i have to do that for each table...

Hello

The shaker is set up to trigger with Nudge (L / R / Fwd).  If you don't want that edit the All_Pre.FX file and take out the FF_DEV DV_SH,1500 piece of the NUDGE_ lines.

Hi, Is the shaker used for much else in these tables haven't really noticed it other than nudge?

It depends on the table and what seems appropriate.  I've just finished all of the Williams / Bally tables and I use it and the gear motor for lock holes.

There are a couple of tables that generate an erroneous right flipper event in addition to the correct left flipper event.  There is no way for DOFLinx to determine if the event is erroneous or not.  I have reported the ones I know about to Zen.

Hi, I'm working on a quick video for existing DOFLinx users to update to V8.xx, adding the relevant folders for FX and how to update the INI.

Hey, wondering if you ever completed the video?

Hey Guys,

I am playing FX3 and FX on a horizontal arcade. Previously set up FX3 with SSF (Only 2 SSF speakers, just a little added effect) now got it working with FX but it seems that with FX the sounds are sometimes a bit late or off. Anyone else experiencing this? I check my CPU/RAM and GPU usage all are below 90% when playing FX.

Here's my .ini

Thank you !

In windows right click on the speaker icon -> Open Sound Settings -> Scroll to the bottom to select App volume and device preferences... from there you can select a lower volume for doflinx

I cannot seem to locate a version of DOFLinx to download, the links in this thread and others don't appear to work for me, perhaps a known issue, or something I didn't do?  Thanks!

There has been a site issue, in the process of being fixed.  Retry the link shortly.

So happy that DOFLinx is working with FX!  Thank you for your continued support for this. Couple of questions:

1) I seem to only be able to nudge forward in FX but can left/right/forward nudge in FX3 (using a cabinet with ZB plunger).  Is this a known issue or can you point me in the right direction to fix it?  I’m using the same DOFLinx install/directory (32 bit) and INI for both FX and FX3.  I can see in the Windows controllers setup that it’s moving when I nudge all 3 directions but it’s only picking it up in FX3 not FX.

2) Are the table FX files the same across FX3 and FX?  Example - when a hole in one is scored in No Good Gofers the flashers go off in FX3 but not FX.  Is this something either someone or myself has to update?  Were they ported over/created exactly like FX3?

3) For some reason when I change the INI to DEBUG=1 it’s still not showing the application.  I’ve checked all 3 monitors and even unplugged 2 to see if it would show in the main monitor but it’s not anymore.  Is there something I can look at to fix this?

I just contributed to the development. Appreciate the time on this a lot.  Thanks.

Glad you are enjoying it .... that's what its all about!

1.  No currently known issues.  check the keys you have setup in FX for L / R nudge, are they the same as FX3?

2.  No.  FX3 and FX are different in most places.  The good news is that we can tweak a lot of things.  I had a look at the hole in one, and this is one of the things that actually does remain the same from FX3 to FX.  The actions are sensor_hole_in_one|ON|FF_DOF E418,-1|FF_DEV DV_SR,2000|FF_DEV DV_SH,500  so no flashers?  If you were to log FX3 and FX getting a hole in one we might be able to figure it out.

3. DOFLinx stores its last location in the registry.  If things get confused it is possible to "lose" the location.  You can reset this by deleting the entire branch of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DOFLinx it will sort itself out on next start / exit.

Thanks for the contribution.

#1 was my bad. Yes L/R nudge was different in both.  I thought they would be the same default but I must have changed it in FX3 a while ago. That is fixed now.  Also #3 is good also  after deleting the registry entry.  Thanks.

#2 I have the log files (below) after making a hole in one on both.  Not sure which exact lines are needed but I copied a few around the actual hole in one.

#1 and #3 = good

The actions from your log are identical for a the sensor_hole_in_one|ON|FF_DOF E418,-1|FF_DEV DV_SR,2000|FF_DEV DV_SH,500 .  From your logs below.

FX3

14-Sep-24 20:48:42.417 - Action 6 -1 0 0 0 0 0 'E418'-''-''-'

14-Sep-24 20:59:59.605 - Action 3 11 500 0 0 0 0 ''-''-''-'

There are no flasher actions in either so not sure what you are seeing in FX3. sensor_jump_02 in FX3 does turn on the inside left flasher just before the hole in one in FX.  This does not happen in FX.

Help

Hi all - tks for the great work.
I have ssf working fine in Pinball FX, but when I scroll through tables in the menu, it takes a long time to change from one table to another.
If I disable Doflinx, scroll in the menu is fine.

Any tips? I am on the latest versions.

Thanks.

Odd as DOFLinx only responds to messages from Pinball FX there are no messages back that could slow things.  Can you run with DEBUG=2 and share the DOFLinx.LOG plus your DOFLinx.INI and I'll take a look.
