Updated.
This is MRCMRC alpha ramp mod. It includes all the fixes he did to the table.

This will be the one i use when i do my full layback alpha update which will have more physics adjustments and a bunch of new objects.

I appreciate all the work MRCMRC put into this as i don't have the time to do the update right now.

enjoy

Oh yeah. The only adjustment i made to this mod was fixing the lower right vuk and the ball hanging up where the 2 ramps meet.

After seeing this it makes me really want to work on the layback update and add the new lighting textures i made for this table

Thanks MRCMRC and Unclewillie for this great game!!!

I am still having an issue with the left ramp: When I'm in multi-ball and ramp is leading down to the whirl-pool thing, the ball stops at the top, goes back down about 3 inches and bounces back and forth between those 2 points. Thankfully I can nudge it when it is at the top to get it to go around, but it is not that easy to do so and it is easy to tilt.

Other than that, everything is fantastic! Should I try bringing in the sides with the x-scale maybe?

Thanks again guys!

Hello Jam0, I also had this problem but only very rarely. I would say 80-90% of the time the ball went up the ramp with no issues.

I mentioned to MRCMRC I think there is a kicker on this ramp to help the ball up the steep section and round the bend (I might be wrong though...). Maybe the strength of this kicker needs to be upped slightly.

Damn! It worked perfect on my two PCs with a slight modification. Even that, I rebuilt both the upper and lower corner to make them smoother. Hope that it would work for anyone...

I presume that you haven't changed any scale parameters, true?

Maybe trying to add layback would do the trick...

How much layback should I try? I've never added layback before.

Edit: Correct, I didn't touch any settings.

Was after your comment that I rebuilt both the upper and lower corner. I make also the upper ramp wider on the corner.

The kicker has the strengh enough, the problem is that the ball is now too big.

Maybe make the ramp wider is neccesary... I can't explain why on my two systems it works always 100%, but it fails on other PCs...

Really not sure of what I'm saying. Just, trying to make the ball smaller, but don't know if adding layback really achieves this.

Try to add 50 or 60. You'll need to reduce also at least the X scale.

So worried about this.... sad.gif

Success!!! I added only 4 layback and the ball goes around! However it did get stuck once -- it got around the corner but didn't make it up the next hill to go back down to the whirlpool, so it was stopped in the valley. This happened just as I was exiting mulitball -- my balled drained and then I shot the ball up the ramp -- so maybe that has something to do with it.

Needless-to-say I am very pleased to get this working!! I tried 2 layback, but didn't work -- ball still got stuck. I am reluctant to mess with the x-axis. Plus testing this ramp isn't the easiest because I must start multiball to test it. That takes a lot of shots, but is a lot of fun!

Thanks again MRCMRC smile.gif

Well, select Ramp1762 (just at the entry of the corner) and change the bottom height of it to 80.

But only for debugging purpose!!! wink.gif

I think when my ball got stuck in the valley (as mentioned above) it was due to multiball ending right at that moment (just after the ball turned the corner), because when that happened it was as though someone put the brakes on the ball. Like kickers, or something were turned off?

I just changed the height and the ball gets around the corner, but gets stuck in the valley (doesn't make it around the next corner). Strange! That is a game-ending situation -- need to exit and reload game. Any thoughts on that MRCMRC?

No ramp helpers at this point.

Take in account that the ramp has no slope there, so the ball needs to get that point with a minimum speed. If the ball passes hardly the corner, maybe it has been slowed down too much...

Try a little more layback, and test it with the tip I suggested before.

The ball has plenty of speed going around the corner, and then it is like the brakes are put on.

Edit: did a lot of testing with strange results. Bottom line is: I can get it to go around the corner, but there seems like there is a lot of friction, and it gets stuck in the valley virtually every time no matter what settings sad.gif I have been using the bottom height at 80 as you said for testing purposes. Is there any way to add a little slope or something to help it? Or somehow decrease the friction -- friction is set a zero, but it seems like it might be rubbing something. I'm confused as to what is going on, because initially I didn't have this "stuck in the valley" problem. Then suddenly it popped- up without me having made any changes.

Ok. Let's try two things:

1- Try the upper ramp without the trick of the ramp I pointed (since it makes the ball getting to the corner more slowly). ONLY if this doesn't work,
2- Select Ramp 1763 (just past the corner) and change Bottom Height to 145. Then select the next ramp (Ramp 1765) and change Top Height to 145 and Bottom Height to 140. Finally select the last ramp (Ramp 1764) and change Bottom Height to 140. Now it can look bad visually, but for test purpouses is OK.

Please, let us know if that worked for you.

Yes, I'd try this before tweaking the ramps.
