Yeah being a pinball fanatic purist. I caught it right off the bat when I loaded the revision. I was like shock and awe at the the GI and the relay clicking. Just bad ass. I was expecting something visual like a naughty blonde nurse mod. Hint Hint. :) I have a real Bugs Bunny Birthday Ball machine that makes that exact sound when you get the 50 million score when all of the lights flash. If Bodydump does not get it in gear, that might be my next table. :)

Well I have spent this evening plugging small holes in the table and working on physics. Up till now, it has been my opinion that the ball has had what I call the "bouncy rubber ball" effect which is not very realistic. I have been tweaking rubbers and walls and reducing the power on the slings and flippers just a tad. Also the ball now has a heavier feel which is making for a more realistic experience.

I have loaded this rev on post #1. Everyone give it a shot and let me know what you think.

LOL.

I cant wait to have a BBBB VP table sitting next to my real BBBB machine. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I have been using that real machine to try to tune the physics of DD. I would say there has been a benefit.

Great job on this one. The physics do seem improved. A fantastic table for your first one.

New ramp and lighting look just awesome. Major visual enhancement. The updated physics feel a little heavy to me. Maybe I'm just used to the older version (?) The ball does feel weightier, but it's taking a few more of those curveball / semi-horizontal arcs than I'd like. I know these do happen in real pinball, especially on faster tables like newer Stern machines, but they seem a little too frequent here.

Also, the latest update (while beautiful looking) gives me quite a bit of stutter / ball tearing. I experimented with reducing all visual enhancements in the video options, and experimenting with vsync. Vsync set to zero and turning off ball reflections / trails and ambient occlusion does help a bit. For the most part I get smooth gameplay on VPX with GTX-750ti, so this is unusual.

The ramp sliding sounds are great.

Hope I don't come across as too negative here. I love your work, and I know you want honest feedback. This is beautiful table. A real VP treasure! Thanks, everyone.

Wrd1972 uploaded a new version since the post above. Friction and ball mass have been adjusted. It's playing great! Ball feels weighty yet lively.

I was getting a lot of stutter on this table, and still was with the most recent update (posted two hours ago). Here's what brought butter-smooth gameplay on my machine:

* Unchecked the box for "Overwrite Global Settings" in the Table settings, under Table, Graphics, and Sound.

Maxed everything out in the Video Options. See screenshot. Strange that it works on my machine, but it does:

Thanks for this amazing table! Looks and plays fantastic. It's been fun watching this one pull in a lot of members' talents.

Ben... with those video option settings is it having any negative effect on the other tables???

Surprisingly, no. The funny thing is that when VPX was in beta and newly released, I never thought to "max out" all the settings (with the exception of 4x anti-aliasing... I still leave that one unchecked). I figured that dialing all the cool effects down would yield smoothest gameplay. This is not the case for my machine. Maxing all the video settings out makes for the smoothest gameplay on my computer - for all tables concerned. I still get stutter on a few no matter what settings I try (the beautifully rendered AMH, for example), but for the most part things are running really smoothly.

Update guys. This is my release candidate barring some funky issues. The only thing I really have left to do is clean up the aprons.

Lots of new stuff in this one. I made a bunch of lighting and flasher changes. I also got the Excellent Ray and its flashers the way I wanted...finally. Also there are two new "eye candy' features that are switchable in the scripts. One has to do with the Excellent Ray and the other for the Mixmaster. I currently have them turned on so check it out. Also made some flipper physics tweaks that I am very happy with. Now you can flip pass the ball and the strength seems to be about right.

I have been playing the crap out of this thing today and cant find anything else to fix or dial in. Playing damn good IMHO...but of course i'm biased. :)

Latest rev is up. Please report any issues ASAP.

Enjoy.

Bill

On the troublesome tables have you tried increasing the Lamp.Timer in the script?  I have fixed stutter in several tables by increasing this setting up to 80 or 100

I am really enjoying this thank you.  It was one of my favourite tables to play in FP and I'm so happy to see it looking great and playing with great physics in VPX.

Soon will come a day when FP is removed from my PinCab I think.

wow, physics have gotten really great on latest WIP.  I only played it one game, but I didn't see any strange ball behavior like I saw earlier.  Great job.  I was afraid that VPX had some issues, but I guess it was you figured it out.  Thanks for a Great recreation.

Couple more bugs

L29 (center spot target bank, second lamp from the top) isn't in the script

Sw39 (top left 10 point switch) still needs an object on the playfield associated with it

Yes--it keeps geting better. Like the improved lighting. I'm be curious about what kind of scores you guys are getting? Playing the VP9 version is certainly not as much fun, but the scores I was getting on it were much higher than what I'm getting with this! Thank you for your continued efforts on this!
