Here is a 1.4 BETA Release

- You can use Drag and drop .vpt/.vpx files onto PBX Recorder to add the new table to the PinballX XML file.

- Changed Table loading delay from 30 to 15 seconds (There are a few tables, like KingPin and Stern IJ, that require longer load times.  Use the pause feature below)

- Ability to pause/resume PBX Recorder to allow you to modify table script, move DMD, download B2S file, etc.  Press PAUSE key to pause.  Press PAUSE key to resume

- Want to control when recording starts, use the Pause/Resume feature.  To start recording sooner, just double tap PAUSE

- Add timeout to skip broken tables (thanks MisterB)

[For those of you using Logitech K400 keyboard, PAUSE is done with Fn + P keys]

PBXR beta  (unzip all into the existing PBX Recorder 1.3 folder- Full 1.3 install here: https://drive.google...19UOWJPb2k2WWc)

Attached File  PBXrecorder_1.4beta10.zip   437.66KB   53 downloads

Tip:  Just start typing to fill in Description field.  Auto-complete is supported based on the IPDB table list

desktop version is not working for me. recorder checks vp,vp9pm5 and vp10 tables and starts capturing. after that i get a msg that tabes were recorded. but there is no table field picture or video. in the text document it says that the table.png was saved in the visual pinball table images folder but it is not, also in the text document it says that the table video is in the pbx recorder folder but it isn't

what can i do?

another strange thing is that the recorder sometimes is crashing the visual pinball. exes but without recorder the tables run without problems.

please help

edit: same effect with the 1.4 beta but alt least it seems not to crash my vp.exe files

GTXJOE... Youre my hero.

Love it. The drag and drop worked beautifully. And the change to 15 seconds is perfect. The drop down list worked marvelously.

1 More Request.....

Can we get drag and drop to support file transfer? I would love to have a shortcut in my downloads folder. just drop the file on it. Build the xml build the vids and boom everything is moved?

The normal 1.3 release and 1.4 beta only work with PC that have the DirectB2S screenres.txt file setup (usually cabinet setups only).  On the 1st post in this thread there is a test version that should work for desktop.  Did you try that version?  If so, PM your pbxrecorder.log file and pinballx.ini file so I can check out your setup

@Yagesz

Next step is to have some tell me a reliable way to add Right Click support on a .vpt or .vpx file to launch it in PBXRecorder, instead of the drag and drop

As for an unzip utility, if you have multiple VP systems, PBXR would not know which one to unzip it to.  If you can come up with an approach step by step, let me know

@GTXJoe

Couldn't you just cross-reference with the PBX configuration and use that folder. Pop open your drag and drop dialog. Use the xml to find the configuration path

Disregard everything I said. Its not a PBXR Error

Found an Error For you.

So I figured out I still have tables that need VP 9.2 to run right. I added a new list and XML to my PinballX setup. But PBX REcorder doesnt see. Tried erasing configs. and a couple other things. No luck

Holy crap I am late to this party. No more having to record manually, edit blah blah blah for hours and hours on end. Thanks a million.

On to business.

My cab has a dual monitor backbox and I currently have six .XML files in PBX:

  • Tables_VP10_Single screen BG.xml (Backglass on top monitor. DMD on bottom monitor)
  • Tables_VP10_Dual screen BG.xml (Backglass stretched on both monitors)
  • Tables_VP9_PM_Single screen BG.xml (Backglass on top monitor. DMD on bottom monitor)
  • Tables_VP9_PM_Dual screen BG.xml (Backglass stretched on both monitors)
  • Tables_VP9_Single screen BG.xml (Backglass on top monitor. DMD on bottom monitor)
  • Tables_VP9_Dual screen BG.xml (Backglass stretched on both monitors)

In general, the DMD and Numeric tables go on "single screen". And the Alpha Numeric tables go on "dual screen BG". I simply stretch these backglasses to make them larger. And of course the three individual VP .exe files.

So if I understand correctly. It is no longer required to have all of the tables in Visual Pinball.xml, within PBX.

And now there is a new feature that will allow PBXR to look in additional .XML files like shown above.

Is this correct?

If yes. Does it automatically locate these multiple .xml files or do I have to point to them?

Thanks

Bill

1) It currently looks at all xml files specified in the PinballX.ini file that are marked as System Type = VP.

2) I could extend PBXR to also search for additional XML files located in the same folder as any VP XML file found in PinballX.ini  as I believe PinballX allows that to create custom lists.

Let me know if 1) applies to your 6 XML files or if situation 2) applies to you

Joe I am currently trying to only record Playfield videos. Those progress pop-up windows are appearing on my Playfield TV. Is this a problem or will they appear on the Playfield video recordings. I'm just wondering if I need to reconfigure my monitors or something.

Normal :)

I just re-did 450 VP9 tables on my setup last weekend with the 1.4 beta.  Now I need to add some more of the older Physmod5 tables and I am golden.

Good luck.  Let me know if you see any issues

Well it looks like I have a problem. The tables all load up and the progress bar crawls to the right but it appears the table exits before any recording takes place. An then goes to the next table. So it cycles through all of the table with no recording at all. I checked the media folders after letting it run all night, nothing. Even though  I saw a "recording completed" window when I woke it up this morning.

I figured it out. I did not download the 1.3 from post one in the thread. Was just missing stuff I guess.

Regarding the beta 1.4 above. Does that just copy paste into the folder containing the 1.3 and its good to go?
