Has anything changed regarding the ROM generated audio playback for Bally/Williams tables? It might be my imagination, but this audio is sounding a little distorted and just a little different now. It seems to be more noticable in system 11 tables.

I am running 64bit everything with the latest 10.8 beta. Is there some audio adjustment I need to be aware of?

Thanks.

Yes but see VPM beta thread, not VPX related

Looks like the Party Zone Mod by SG1bsoN is not working with either 64bit VPX and/or 10.8.1-v1837. Looks like the pop bumpers and slings simply don't fire. Table is available at the other place. Can someone please test before I write it up.

Thanks.

real quick
take a look at the threshold for the bumpers and the sling threshold on the slings

make sure the threshold has not taken on some high number (usually they are betweeen 1 and 3)

might also look at the force, incase they are moving but not doing anything ball wise

either 64bit VPX and/or 10.8.1-v1837.

It looks like 1837 is about a two month old revision of 10.8.1, which the VPX team said wasn't ready for testing.  What is the other revision you are using?  1841 is the latest master revision (the numbering for master and 10.8.1 is not parallel).  It wouldn't do you any good for people to test the table on different revisions than you are using.

For the 3D settings, it actually looks like the cabinet mode isnt working correctly. For whatever reason, it looks great when thats turned off and youre looking at it from the side (objects pop and theres depth), but cabinet mode seems to lose the 3D popping for individual elements.

Don't really understand what you are referring to. 3D perspective in 2D mode or real 3D mode anaglyph or interlaced? Real 3D never looks great when looked at from the side.

Anaglyph should look decent in cab view, as there is no monitor magic to it, just glasses

mind you there is an optimal viewing angle, which is pretty narrow but...

The other 3D methods, i guess they may not work so well in cab view, if they rely on like shuttered glasses or what not.

The two side by side tables does, at least it does if you kind of make a stereograph eye piece

but you got to remain centered, cant move off center of it breaks.

I played with it once using what equated to some toilet paper tube goggles.

It worked pretty cool, but you had to keep your head centered.

Also made your eyes really tired fast

You can also cross your eyes, and focus on table that appears in center of screen.

This really hurts the eyes, but it actually works.

I call it....poor mans 3D.

Just be wary, as many mothers have said your face will freeze like this! lol

You can, i am not fond of self induced migraines.  :tapping:
Which is exactly what doing that would give me.

Someone had a 3D demo on a website once

that is exactly what the instructions said to do

Can you screen shot it by any chance?

Neat thing about anaglyph

We can see it in screen shots, close to how you see it.

If you have good 3D when looking from the side but not from the playing position your 3D separation is rotated 90°. You can change this in the VPX settings.

Have you ever tried 3D interlaced with passiv circular polarized glasses? This is truely like the real thing especially with the new window POV rendering. I'd never go back to 2D since I've experienced this.

The only issue currently is the #1230 bug in 10.8 (see my post here a few days ago). Makes starting a table in 3D interlaced a real pain.

Really hope @toxie can fix this soon?

Why are there now two different versions being updated on Github, 10.8.1 and master which still seems to be 10.8 ? Are the 10.8 updates being bundled into 10.8.1 ?

10.8.1 is branched off i think to try some things that might break stuff, so as to not break the master too much

I do not know exactly what is being worked on in it

I know nothing about how 3D works. Do you need a special monitor or tv for the 3D interlaced to work?

Yes, generally LG circular polarised 3D TVs (the 3D tech is known as FPR or Cinema 3D and also used in some Panasonic 3D TVs and perhaps a few other brands). The 1080P 3D TVs are much more common at the 42" size, the smallest 4K is around 49" I think but much harder to find. Note that resolution on the long axis is halved in 3D mode.
