Aaargh that is frustrating!! Did it happen during play in pinballx with a topper video on? I'm trying to locate the source of the crash but haven't found it yet. Today played directly from vpx and did not have a crash. I expect it has to do with running a relatively large topper video >40mb but have not found proof so could also be sam le related.

Should we start a new thread about the lock up? So we can try to narrow it down?

If you do start a thread, please start it on the site where the table is hosted since this site does not host SAM tables at this time.

I play with the last vpx 10.3 beta and vpinmame 2.9 and have no errors. Maybe you can test that?

For what its worth. I must have played a shit-load of AC/DC, though the Luci version without any lock-ups. There is currently known a problem with the bell stopping to swing on these tables, except that I didn't know of any problems. But, you should know that 10.3 from day one has a bug fix that DJRobX found, it made a few tables crash is certain situations. Don't know, who to say it can't also makes table freeze ? I don't know. It is well worth a try though to use 10.3 just for this case alone I think.
From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I have a problem with the colored DMD. It works fine, but if I start the table, the DMD is opened on the playfield.
I save the backglass, I edit the DMDdevice.ini; nothing helps.
The DMDDevice.dll and DMDDevice.ini are in syswow64. Does somebody has an idea?

I would never ever put that dll into syswow64. That is protected by your OS in ways you don't need.
I advice you all to never put anything VP under c:\program files\ or even your desktop. If you feel it is easier
to keep VP stuff on the desktop, well, don't - instead put it in c:\pinball or whatever and on the desktop
only make a shortcut to that folder.
Have you looked in registry ? Try changing HKCU\software\freeware\visual pinball\acd_168hc\dmd_x_pos and dmd_y_pos.
To me it sounds like there might be a permission issue you've got there Joey2001.

I steer away from anything OS protected, especially Microsoft. I think Thalamus is right on the permissions part.
I installed the latest vp 10.3 beta and until now no crashes. Interesting is when I use a vip pass with the fire button during Hells Bells it locks the bell.

Would be nice to actually have tables from this site to use during weekly challenge. I don't know how others feel about using a table that is banned on this website, but it would make it easier to talk about fixing problems if the table actually came from these forums. What if Noah Fentz decided to ban everyone who posted high score on a banned machine, that he clearly states is not allowed in these forums? Doesn't sound like a safe thing to do. It is just my opinion though, I have never posted my scores because they are nowhere near the other scores posted.
Also might be hard for newcomer to join weekly challenge, specially if they don't even know where to download the weekly challenge table.
Just my 2 cents. The end goal is for everyone to have fun and compete.
Have a great week!!

Haha.Found it : The game starts with the cannon lit for Song Jackpot. After that first shot, you need to spell F-I-R-E three times to relight the cannon for Song Jackpot.
Back to the game.
Haha thanks DedRok_V, you already found it!
I didn't find it, I just knew it from when the game was released. My mate had one of each version.
I do have the rules somewhere but it just gives me headaches.
My highest was 750M or so.
JAM multiball takes 20 ramps to light super at the bell.
Hella bells is a good mode cause you keep shooting the bell.
2x play field after 3 hits for 20 seconds.
3x play field after another 3 hits.
A hit to bell resets the timer to 20sec.
Hella bells is 5th or 6th JP for Song Jackpot.
That's about 100th of the rules.

I understand your concerns, but I have a different opinion. There is no link to a banned page. So I see no problem. If Noah does not want that, of course, he decides and we have to accept it.

Thanks. I have it in the VPinMame-folder without testing. Then I read an installation.thread by lucky01 and he write to save it under syswow64.
I will test it later today in the vpinmame-folder and play a few games to get a new highscore. ![]()
But 750m as DedRok_V wrote is veeerrrry high.
I don't read the rules I linked, because they are too large...

It is a very comprehensive rule-set for AC/DC for sure. But, Ded did summarize those rules I mostly play focus on already.
A small tip though. If you're greedy, plunge and when the ball is ejected open the right gate with magna. Now, do a quick trap or if you are good, a direct shot to the leftmost lane ( the spinner lane ) up to the top again for 2 VIP passes. Had a 196M game yesterday.
From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.
