Just saw the announcement.
So very sad to hear. I can't remember if I had any direct interaction with him, but I know I've enjoyed playing some of his builds.
It's tough to lose a loved one at any time of year, but especially hard to deal with during the holidays. My best wishes go out to his family.

I was on sabbatical and today is the first time back to VPF in several weeks. Just saw the RIP for Jeff. I am not a builder yet exchanged messages with him from time to time on how things work, why this over that, etc. Always nice, always a class act. I feel that there was a much larger, and most likely fascinating, reason for his inexhaustible love of EM tables that we'll never get the chance to know. Whatever drove him was reflected in the detail and authenticity he captured with VP creations. We were almost the same age and I was lucky enough to play many of these tables in real life yet he found dozens of tables I never heard of before. The childhood memories his creations brought back are priceless and I will forever think of him when I load up one of his tables. And I thank him (as I do all of this community's dedicated army of builders) for allowing my son to share my memories of these tables and fuel his growing love of pinball both virtual and in real life. This community has evolved exponentially from simply trying to do what wasn't possible 21 years ago and also "just for the fun of it", to now being "just for the love of it".
RIP, Jeff (Loserman76) Whitehead

The loss of such a valued member of our community is greatly notable but I'm sure that's all nothing compared to the loss his friends and family are feeling. In a way, this man, through his great efforts, gets to have two legacies. What a remarkable thing - to have touched so many people on a global scale.

I first contacted Jeff in 2015 concerning his recreation of Spin-a-Card. This is a machine that I played as a teenager, and it's the machine that got me hooked on pinball so many years ago. I have one in my basement, and when I compared it with the operation of Jeff's VP recreation I came up with a list of nit-picky suggestions that I sent to him. I was concerned that he would be annoyed with me and ignore my suggestions, but instead he had them all implemented within a short period of time.
I have backglass scans of several other machines that I have owned over the years. I've had to sell most of them to make space for incoming machines, so it occurred to me that I could have them "back again" just by creating backglass, playfield, and plastic images and then sending them all to Jeff. In a week or two (sometimes less) I would have a VP table for my collection!
This continued until I ran out of scanned images, so I started coming up with images from the web and cleaning them up to provide VP images for Jeff. Over the next 5 years I worked with Jeff on 118 tables. I've never met him in person or even talked with him on the phone, but he became a close friend through our VP interactions and through our love of wedgeheads.
When it's my turn to head to the great beyond, I'll be meeting up with Jeff at the nearest Spin-a-Card machine. And Jeff my friend, the quarters will be on me!
So many wedgeheads, so little time!

Now just seeing this announcement, and am very, very sad to hear this kind of news. Jeff was a really great guy, and to say he was a contributor and an asset to the VP community, is the understatement of the year.
During the past few years, I was very lucky to get to know him, and I passed along to him tons of resources for the many EP pins that came through my restoration shop. He took these little nuggets and made his already great tables even better. He was dedicated to constant improvement all the way, and very much loved doing VP.
I wanna offer up my prayers to his family, and all the best going forward during this very tough time. I really want his family to understand how we all feel about Jeff, and his contributions to us all. He simply was the EM guy, and he made a lot of folks days just a little brighter with the very high quality tables that he offered up free. I will miss chatting with him, and offering up resources to him a great deal.
RIP my friend. Your legacy will live on in the community FOREVER.
Bill

Sorry to disappear from the scene I have gone through a great depression after the loss of my father and the truth is I ran out of ideas and resources to continue creating tables, today I decided to go in for a while to see how this beautiful VP world progresses and I I find this terrible news, Loserman76 was one of my favorite creators for the simple creation of tables, a real machine.
Wherever you are, friend, I send you a greeting ..

"Aprender sin pensar es inútil, pensar sin aprender es peligroso". (Confucio)
Please, if you can help me with a small contribution to update my work team and continue to make more tables I will be eternally grateful.

Prayers for family and friends.
He is a legend here, and will always be.
I remember just last Christmas he uploaded a huge amount of tables he had completed.
A great Christmas gift to the community.
He will be missed.
Carry on.
Edit:
Here is topic where he talked about updating his tables to VPX
https://www.vpforums...showtopic=38500
and updated list in same topic above on Christmas Eve of 2017 (I swear this seemed like just last Christmas!!)...

I never had the chance to work with Jeff, but saw his alias on so many tables. My condolences to his family and friends. From what I have read, he was a great guy who would do anything to help those in need. Thank you Jeff for all of your contributions to the Pinball community! Rest in peace!

I didn't know Jeff very well but we were online friends through the now gone VP site. He was always so kind in every interaction I ever saw him have with anyone. Always going out of his way to help people and to say something positive and constructive. He was always kind to me and I enjoyed the few conversations we had greatly. And I never saw a pinball table Jeff made that didn't make me say "wow, that's great!". The world and our little community here has certainly lost a talented and kind soul.
