Thank you.  Next, can you copy your scripts folder to your tables folder ... just as an experiment, and see if that makes a difference?

I move all scripts in the table-folder. Nothing changed. 19 isn't working.

 

I install the 10.5 beta. No change.

Hmm. Very odd indeed this one. I remember you had some issues with taito.vbs as well. Don't remember though if we could explain how you got into that situation ?!

Indiana Jones is now making a loud plus double noise/click (from the upper area of the table, the extra click, with a delay) with any press of the left flipper. That's with the VPX 10.5 beta installed.

Hmm. Very odd indeed this one. I remember you had some issues with taito.vbs as well. Don't remember though if we could explain how you got into that situation ?!

But the taito-problem was my own mistake, because I edit a .vbs and after that, I don't install updates of this .vbs.
After this mistake I always overwrite all vbs.. So all scripts are actual.

On T2, the flippers are dead with UseSolenoids = 2. Original value in the script is 0. Seems to work fine on Gilligan's island...

Don't mess with T2 it has it's own solenoid handling

Hi guys, there are the bugs I encounter.
flippers doesn’t move with UseSolenoids=19 running Star Wars Empire Strikes Back, The (Hankin 1980) MOD v2.2.1 in a subfolder

D:/Visual Pinball/Tables/___ vpinballX/ Star Wars Empire Strikes Back, The (Hankin 1980) MOD v2.2.1

If i move the table in D:/Visual Pinball/Tables/___ vpinballX/     => working
If i keep in subfolder and UseSolenoids=1 => working

I tried assassin32 version 1.4 => same thing happens , not working in subfolder, working in ___vpinball folder

I tested 2 other tables in subfolder, that don't work when editing the fastflip script (UseSolenoids=2) :
Attack From Mars (Bally 1995) VPX dB2SDT ColorDMD MOD v1.0
Judge Dredd (Bally 1993) VPX dB2SDT ColorDMD MOD v1.0
If i move theses table in D:/Visual Pinball/Tables/___ vpinballX/     => working with fastflip, like all tables in this folder

I tried some others fastflip tests with tables in a subfolder, seems they all works except the four mentionned!

as xenonph suggered in Vpinball I tried to shorten subfolder name, and table name. Even if I shorten more than working tables, it doesn't work with these four.

Really not a big deal, I don't complain in any way, it's just a report, maybe that can help to identify the cause.

This fastflip in very usefull with some tables, I can mention funhouse! I had high latency on this one, plays perfectly now.

I take opportunity of this post to thanks all the dev on this project, guys I discovered Vpinball like 15 years ago, enjoyed it but like forgotted it (life...) and rediscover like 1 year ago.
What a giant step forward! :otvclap:

Understood, thanks. Note that this is in the WPC.vbs though: These games will work perfectly: "WPC alphanumerics, T2, Gilligan's Island, Hurricane, Party Zone (pre-Addams Family DMD games)"

 

What about older Williams or Bally games, mid to late 80s to early 90s, are they mostly expected to work? (Cyclone, Funhouse, Dr Who). I think I've read that Dr Dude and Diner are supposed to work, so I'd guess yes, but just in case...

 

Edit (just read the post above mentioning Funhouse). I guess I'll spend some time trying them all...Thanks for your work.

Yes AFM is not compatible

 

Check for loose scripts around your VP10 folder. The system scripts (WPC.vbs Sys11.vbs, etc) handle the key inputs so any conflicting outdated scripts won't have the correct flipper inputs.

@vanlocke : I'm not sure but to me it looks like if the table is placed into a folder where there is a "whitespace" in the path it makes it a problem. Is this correct ?

I tried to avoid blank : renaming to Star-Wars-v2.2.1 in a subfolder with same name. still doesn't work.

on the other hand:  Buck Rogers (Gottlieb 1980) Sound MOD v1.11a in a subfolder with same name => working with usesolenoids= 2

FWIW  I have a similar list as above, able to configure using solenoid 2    or 19 on star wars empire.  works fine on all these:

Black Knight, F-14, Fish Tales, Funhouse, Indiana Jones TPA, Space shuttle, Star Trek TNG, T2, The Machine Bride of Pinbot,TAF, TZ, Xenon

If I remember correctly, the right ramp diverter that directs ball to the path of the dead doesn’t function properly with fastflips enabled. That may be the click you’re hearing (?)

Something like that. the upper flipper switch on that game is used instead for drop targets and maybe some other stuff.

 

The wpc.vbs in 10.5 should have fixed that issue. I'll double check it

Maybe. I couldn't play it long enough to figure out if some functions were not working, but what happens is that any time I click the left flipper there is an unusually loud/deep flipper sound, compared with the UseSolenoids=1 option, always followed by a click a half second later.

STV, how did you get TAF to work.  I checked out wpc.vbs and it looks like it should work, but I can't seem to get it to work.  Really want TAF as the game is very dear to my heart.

Const UseVPMModSol = 1 line be 

and

Const UseSolenoids = 2 should be used?

 

 

don't care about the thing flips as I can do it myself (I hope)

STV, how did you get TAF to work.  I checked out wpc.vbs and it looks like it should work, but I can't seem to get it to work.  Really want TAF as the game is very dear to my heart.

mmm didn't do anything outside of setting usesolenoids = 2

I do have the wpc.vbs installed that was released with this first 10.5 beta.

 

Now having read some of the above about IJ TPA  - indeed I find that with solenoids 2   the path to adventure does not open.  using that wpc.vbs that came with 10.5.     put it back to solenoids 1  and it opens fine.
