Beautiful table!

But like another person pointed out I also have the problem that the table is not "active" when launching from PinballX. I need to move the mouse to the table and click on it before my credit/launch etc buttons work.

Both my screens are running at 60hz.

Changing the line in the script : "While UltraDMD.IsRendering = True" to False solves the problem, but cuts the movies.

Any ideas ?

And thanks again to both of you for the table!

I missed this one. Just loaded it up. Very nice! Thank you.

Bjonne. Map a button in PinballX to pause. I think default is P. Launch the game. Hit that button to pause. Then, hit that button again to go back into the game. It will now be on top and the ball will launch. I put a button on the bottom of my cab for stranger things to get it to work. Not a perfect solution. But, it works.

Hi Vizzini

I tried that and it works too. I was just thinking that since changing While UltraDMD.IsRendering to False also solves the problem then it should be solvable in the script. Maybe something like

At the beginning of the table :

While UltraDMD.IsRendering = False

' Run a DMD video

While UltraDMD.IsRendering = True

' Ready to accept "start a new game"

When I start Diablo in Pinballx I need to click on the table with my mouse to make the game start. I notice that if I don’t have a backglass installed it’ll start perfect, but when I add the backglass I have to click the table with my mouse to play. I’ve seen very similar issues, but I can’t make mine work. If I start it from visual pinball it also start normally. I also have a Kiss-stern table doing the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

I wanted to try this but can’t find it in the script.

While UltraDMD.IsRendering = False
' Run a DMD video
While UltraDMD.IsRendering = True
' Ready to accept "start a new game"

What are you trying to do ? That code doesn't make much sense in the context of your previous message. Or at least, that is what I read from it.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Just ignore my last post. The previous post is the one I’m concerned with. About clicking on the diablo table with my mouse to get it to play.

I have this in my notes about the most excellent Diablo table

need to add to script

Sub Table1_exit()
 Controller.Stop
 End Sub

Oh I misunderstood.   this fix above would help if its getting stuck on exit, not losing focus on launch.

This is one of the reasons I started looking to get away from pinballX.  focus problems.   You'll find a solution and it might work.  Until an update.   Or until the 3rd Thursday of the month rolls around..    Because KISS does it too it must have something to do with the XDMD timing, delay in starting up or something like this.

Are you playing videos in the pinballX front end?   Or actually playing the XDMD live while in the menu?    maybe it doesn't exit quickly enough.  maybe try disabling videos in the pinballX front end and see if it makes a difference?

It worked until I did something that I shouldn’t have touched, then I had a host of other problems. I believe I have most of the other problems fixed. But I still have the problem that I need to click on those two tables (possibly others too) to make them start. Like I said in the previous post if I don’t have the backglass it starts up fine, but when I add the backglass I need to click on the table. I have no clue as to why. Soooooo any help would be appreciated. Paul at virtuapin help me last night with the other problems and I did not discover this problem until we said goodbye to each other.

I run 'topper' videos from PinballX (have the long Diablo topper running) and what I notice is that Diablo takes a long time to load (from within PinballX) but then once it loads it looks normal, like it's ready to play yet it does not respond to any button press (so it lost focus even though it loaded...?). This is the only table that I have this (focus) issue with (have 128 tables installed).

I also have the BG installed that has the gate that drops (I think it's v2.1 from STAT).

There has to be a proper solution...

Try this:

Find lines 2100 ++:

' wait for the animation to end
    While UltraDMD.IsRendering = True
    WEnd

And delete those lines.

Se if it works better.

My script was set on True, I changed it to false just to see what would happen. False fixed my problem. Thank you jpsalas
Now if I could get help doing the same thing to my Kiss-stern table.

Then you should ask in the support topic for that table. Not here. It makes it easier for everyone to get it fixed.

Try this for (focus) issue

You always have this option
If you go with FlexDMD I recommend you read the whole support topic
