But unlike the older Visual Pinball, you will need a fast and powerful car(Good Graphics Card) to drive this VPX blonde french top model, or she will start to stutter on you!!

Yes, that's normal. Good looking models always wants more from the man who is playing with her.

I recently upgraded to 10.3.1 and now some of my key settings are not saving properly.  When I set my magna save buttons, the changes work once but do not save the next time VPX launches.  I think I had read something about this, but cannot seem to locate the information.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have the latest VPX, Vpinmame, and DOF running on Windows 10.  Everything was working fine until this upgrade....

I am still getting random crashes with 10.31, but only after making changes to settings or changes in the editor. Am now also having vpinmame crash before 10.31 crash's. This has also happened in 10.21, which did not happen before updating the scripts with those supplied with 10.31? No crashes if I save, restart and play without making any changes.

I'm in the situation that if I open a SAM table and change anything I'm almost surtain to get a crashe. Need to save, exit and open from beginning in order to play. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe also to have seen a few more crashes when i start by dobbel click on a *.vpx file instead of opening from within the program.

But, I don't want to point to vpx, might be sam or even dmddevice as well.

There are still issues in the at91 JIT compiler that could cause this behaviour. Try disabling this in VPM and try again.

Toxie,

How do you disable JTM? Where is the "switch"?

Find your rom - and change from 1 to 0 to disable - or the other way to enable.

I had this problem.   Found a solution by searching in the registry where pinballX sets the button mapping.   Or maybe it was the vpinballX registry spots.  Manually setting button values in these regkeys was necessary to fix the problem.  Created a regfile to fix quickly so I can send the keynames when I get home later today.

Here we go:   I had to set this in the registry to keep the manga save buttons mapped to my needs.  And set it and reboot it a couple times to make it stick.  For whatever reason the 10.3 itself wasn't saving these values.  Or something else was overwriting them.   A pinballx upgrade to the latest 2.36 happened around this same time.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Visual Pinball\VP10\Player]
"JoyLMagnaSave"=dword:0000000b
"JoyRMagnaSave"=dword:00000003
"LMagnaSave"=dword:0000001d
"RMagnaSave"=dword:0000009d

those are button 11, button 3, left ctrl and right control respectively.

STV, yes this appears to be the issue. I also upgraded to PBX 2.36 during the same timeframe, but it would seem odd PBX would be controlling VP registry keys. I don't know if that is part of the issue.

I have tried to change these values, but my changes get reverted back on a reboot. I have tried to take control and verified I have proper permissions to edit these values and am having no luck. Any other suggestion is appreciated on how to successfully change these values.

I believe there is a setting inside pinballx where you can tell it to leave visual pinball alone ... don't touch. Don't from the top of my mind remember the exact phrase.

PinballX supports "auto-positioning" of DMD and backglass according to settings on the Display Settings page in the Settings Wizard.

This will overwrite screenres.txt and VPM registry settings.

Auto-positioning can be disabled. In fact, I recommend it as it causes confusion like this.

Since I installed 10.3.1 (final), I only see the inclination value in camera mode. Can't reach the x y settings. I already tried with disabled "fly around" keys but no change, magna save buttons just rotate the table.

I guess I overlook something, any hints?

The same here. With the flipperbuttons I change the inclanation and with nudgebuttons I rotate the table. I set the nudge on magna save, so it's the same issue you have. And it doesn't change anything, if "fly around" is marked or not. I have no control over the x and y settings with the buttons.

Mark 70 and Joey, it is possible this problem is being caused by the manga save buttons being remapped by PBX? just a long shot, but I have to map manga save buttons in VPX when I want to adjust a table until I can figure out what is defaulting my registry keys for magma save. Once I launch PBX my manga save buttons default to the wrong settings in the registry.

Thanks, but I always set the adjustings in VPX. I don't run PBX then.
But I will check the registry later.
