Yes, I know whats happening. All the images in B2S are drawn on the Background layer of the windows form. The High contrast theme overwrites anything on the background with solid black.

The theme service is one of the services that I disabled on my cab.
It is one of those not needed services that consumes cpu power in the background.

how do i disable the theme service? i can get this to run but i can see the stupid windows logo on my dmd tongue.gif

i'm also now convinced my m/b is not acceptable since the ball stutter on this was off the scale!

I think I killed it, Maybe I didnt?

Anyway to get rid of the Windows logo, load a black image (or an image with your own logo) as your desktop background.

Just change the color to black & the Windows Logo will disappear .. wink.gif

Thanks again! smile.gif

i'm not sure
you have to try

some people with ipacs work without problems with esc
some have to use e

not all ipacs are same

On my cab, with the latest fplaunch, I have to use the "e" key with my ipac to exit the table otherwise I get the VP prompt to "resume etc...".
However with B2s tables it exits the table but not the backglass, so I get the scared stiff Backglass (in this case) over the hhyperpin backglass until I press the Esc key on the keyboard, which is a pain.

Is there a way to change the exit key on the B2S backglass... or any other option?

Did you set the "LaunchBackglass" instruction in the table script to FALSE?

Man, this is so awesome.
Today was the first chance I had to really play the game and have a long session.

I ran into a problem in the monster multiball.

One of the 4 balls is getting stuck somewhere between the coffin lock and the coffin kickout. I was able to get to monster multiball twice, and it happened both times. Shooting the coffin lock would "unstick the ball". Both times it happened, I was down to 2 balls left in the multiball, the stuck ball and the ball I was juggling. When I shot the lock (left loop) it released one ball out of the coffin and the other ball back down the left loop onto the playfield.

I have not had this problem with earlier versions of JP's Scared Stiff, I know he's been updating his code lately, so this may have been fixed in one of his recent updates. So this bug has more to do with what version of his code you based your B2S conversion on than anything the B2S code is effecting, but I thought you should be aware, in case JP has updated the table script and it needs to be updated in your conversion.

On another side note, how hard is it to change the backglass image being used by the table? I'm just curious because I have some super high resolution images for scared stiff that I've been using for my UVP backglasses (which you're free to use if you want), I was just wondering if it's something I could do myself or not because it's already compiled in the EXE?

This table is the latest update by JP.

I an not going to change the bg image. It a little more involved than just replacing the image and I am quite happy with the one I have.

thanks anyway.

like rosve said you have to set launch backglass in table script to false
you have to name the table so that it ends with _b2s
and you have to name exe with same name and put it in same dir

then fplaunch will open and close b2s

if you have table script launching b2s it won't close

Thank you so much for the support guys, finally got the table to work with Hyperpin launching it. These things are getting ticky to setup.

I'm a but late to the party but thanks for engineering this Rosve, I honestly thought I'd never see the day give_rose.gif

Got to monster multiball like the above poster and also got two balls stuck in the upper left lane, above the lock diverter. That aside it rocks big time! smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

edit: Rosve, is it easy to edit the images used in the exe source code? On my setup the BG monitor is behind some tinted perspex making things appear a tad dark, if possible I would like to tweak the brightness/contrast. I can do this on the panel's controls but it throws all the other backglasses out. Many thanks.

Interesting you have stutter with your fast system. Are you using the Scared Stiff FS 1.44 version?
I just tried it with mine and UVP enabled and have 0 stutter.

The backglass I am using is the 1280x1024 stock backglass from the UVP.
If yours is higher resolution, perhaps thats causing the slow down.

I know when I used the 5 mexapixel backglasses in my cabinet I got stutter. When I put the lower res backglass back it was stutter free.
It would be a good test to resize the HD version to 1280x1024 and see if that fixes the stutter.

That Would like sexy. I am just thankful Rosve is working so hard on B2S in general. If he updates this that would be sweet.

I gotta vote for the high resolution version, too, if it's doable. With the artwork graciously done, that's a great start to making it happen. I absolutely love this table (I play it every night - no joke!). The extra clearness of the HD backglass would be perfection.

If you refer to the Bad Cats update, then the backglass without the grill is unchanged. However I think it's a good idea to use the new B2S.vpt file to be able to run the new b2s tables I am currently working on.
