Build 1734

I have had a brief read of past two pages here, i cant get the camera view (F6) on screen in cabinet mode to resize my tables or even change the view mode, and yet until recent builds i could.

Even trying to use a keyboard now doesnt seem to do anything.

I realise a new table sizing system is being implemented, but i dont understand why the buttons (and keyboard) on cabinet dont work as they have till recently to change the size/save of the table.

Could someone please direct me to the right area for help, cheers.

I think this is as good as it gets for now.  You can also look at recent actions on github to see what changes they are up to (although I admit some of them are vague).  But I think we are all trying to figure out how the recent changes are fleshing out and I don't think there's hope for new documentation until they are done with what they are doing (which makes sense).

*edit*  Unfortunately, I use Legacy mode, so I won't be much help to you either.

I just noticed the action notes for build 1736 are "fixed POV imports"... not sure if this will do it but worth a try.

I didn't know that the toys can be use as walls and things. I used some rubbers as a wall on each toy. lol

It said on the option it can be turn on and off from the script. Never mind I found out how to do this. :)

According to the documentation it is a variable of on object twith a value of a boolean.
Like : wall01.Collidable = true

See https://github.com/v...PI Reference.md

Edit: not sure if it is a typo, but for wall it shows Collideable instead of Collidable

Looks like a typo.

On same page... For primitive it shows Collidable.

better to rarely use toys as collidables

too many faces, causes too many impacts

can lag a table.

Better to use an invisible wall

I'm not worrying about it. Just 4 barrels on top of Baby Pin-Bot head get blown up. 5th one just release the two balls after being hit 3 times. But the 5th one isn't enable at all. Have a bumper in it for kicking the ball way. Since there is noway to use the toys to kick the ball. lol

The ball trail is broken on the "try to be more platform independent #2269" :) https://github.com/v...runs/6837260634

At first I thought the ball showing too. Not showing the ball under the walls.

Hello friends,

Does anyone know what these updates are referring to when they mention "tournament file"?

- use live ui notifications for tournament file outputs
- add preliminary tournament file export

Interesting

add preliminary tournament file export
if playing in locked mode and also not having any unsaved table changes, one can now export a 'tournament score' file via the pause menu
(currently limited to PinMAME-emulated DMD based machines, thus the file contains the encoded content of the DMD at that point in time)
The content of this text file can then be posted to the tournament administrators and converted by them via the '-TournamentFile tablename textfilename' command line option to a .png again
Note that the VPX version used to play and to convert must exactly match (incl. same revision/build, same OS, DXvsGL, 32vs64bit)

Think i'll be sticking with pinemhi leaderboard though, works with the nvram files so doesn't care about VPX version or build etc and can still run tables in 10.7 or 10.6 etc if needed.

The downside of pinemhi is that scores from different versions are compared, for example, it's much easier to score points in GNR by bigus than in GNR by VPW.
Playing at the same table, without modifications, is much fairer.

Maybe kind of useless for now - the build version alone changes almost every day...

The only way that would be possible would be to create tournament version tables and reimplement the table lock that was available in earlier versions of vp which stopped any modification to a table and made it only playable not editable

Which, hopefully, would not be widely used as it would prevent tinkering and customizing tables, which is one of the great things about VP.

I believe that's why the removed it.
There were some very "outspoken" authors in the past that didn't want people messing with their work.
Kinda dumb if you ask me.
But to have specific locked tournament tables and a leader board site would be worth while
