I updated yesterday ya basterd! Get going on that AMH and you will see how fast I update the thread! ;)

On the beta exe and tables and having a dedicated download area, the specific issue is that although some of these tables could be deemed 100% finished, there are strong possibilities that they can stop working at any time due to changes in the VPX exe. Can you imagine the cluster duck and confusion this causes if people download an official releases table... But it doesn't work?

So as soon as VP exits the beta phase, that will mean that any new revisions to the exe won't break any existing released tables, so it will be deemed feature complete and future updates within that release cycle (ex: vp10) will probably be bug fixing related.

I am not a dev so I could be wrong ;), but that's how I logically see it. So be patient with the vp10 table section and until that day, I wil, work to try and update this thread more often.

On that note, a challenge to those of you who have free time (not me right now :(), don't forget to try some of the older released vp10 tables and do let us know if they don't work in the latest beta exe's. The authors and devs need to know this.

America's Most Haunted beta release

QJl0GJT.jpg

Download here

Lightshow..... mess with the night/day slider to get a good balance that meets your personal lighting taste! Reflections. Sounds. Noises!

All files needed are in that download link, read the READ ME!!!!! There's notes in there about enabling the directb2s as well!

Still a few bugs in the table but my fixes have gotten slower. Shoopity has done a lot of updates in the past week to the code and has the lighting looking tits now! Most animations are there, however there's still some missing parts. None of it should affect game play. The jump ramp is near impossible, I haven't found a good balance here, thankfully it's not necessary to hit this consistently to advance game modes as the shot registers before hand.

There's still a few visual improvements I want to make but for the most part it will be bug fixing from here on...

Be sure to give desktop mode a try!

THIS TABLE REQUIRES ULTRADMD

NOTE: This guide presumes that you have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed in advance, if not, get it here: http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=16614

1. Download the .vpx table and place in your Visual Pinball\Tables folder
2. Download the GIF pack and place the folder in your Visual Pinball\Tables folder (dir should remain named America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD)
3. Download the Music pack and extract it to Visual Pinball\Music
4. Download XDMD beta 0.2 from XDMD.info/download, unpack to C: or anywhere you're comfortable (for this example I'm placing the XDMD install directly at the C: level)
5. Download XDMD beta 0.3 preview from XDMD.info/download and replace the XDMD.dll in C:\XDMD\XDMD\bin\Release with this one

>>> MAKE SURE YOU UNBLOCK ALL FILES IN THE C:\XDMD\XDMD\bin\Release FOLDER

6. Download the latest UltraDMD from ultradmd.wordpress.com/download/ - currently 1.1.150215, and unpack this to C:\XDMD\XDMD\bin\Release

7. Now you need to register UltraDMD, you can do this potentially two ways. The easiest way, if it works, is to open a command prompt in ADMINISTRATOR mode and navigate to the C:\XDMD\XDMD\bin\Release folder, type "UltraDMD.exe /i" (without quotes) and press enter. It should register and give you confirmation. If this doesn't work, you need to open a command prompt window in ADMINISTRATOR mode and navigate to C:\XDMD\XDMD\bin\Release and then paste this into the command window:

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegASM UltraDMD.exe

this will confirm that the EXE is registered! You should be good to go now!

The more I tinker with VPX, the more I am thinking that I really need to invest in a video card that can play tables with Ambient Occlusion enabled buttery smooth. Is anyone able to do that? Can you recommend a car? It just adds an amazing subtle depth to the table... I need it...

60FPS desktop, 34FPS full screen, can't quite handle it yet :)

I am running with an nvidia geforce gtx 970.  Overkill in the horspower dept. but I highly recommend it.  4 Gigs of video ram. Honestly, it does what its supposed to do.  If you have the 300 some odd bucks to spend on a card. You will love it.

BTW, your new table looks pretty sweet. The lighting and colors are real nice. I will give it a go tomorrow. Time to sleep.

I'd love to know what FPS you get with ambient occlusion enabled and any kind of AA enabled! Let me know when you get a chance to play it.

Wow totally amazing Fren.   Thanks to all involved for this great table  :dblthumb:

Question that may look stupid but I'm curious to know if we can change the square dot of UltraDMD to something more circle?

Hey guys, AMH looks amazing. I followed the install instructions but am having challenges with UltraDMD.exe crashing. It has been unblocked etc. I have tested on 2 PCs with similar results using Windows 7.

Checked my installed programs and I am missing this app - Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (x86). DLoading now. Will report back.

FYI: Download the 64bit for Windows 7 - Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (x64)

Update: Windows 7 64-bit should already have these files installed so no need to update\install and it won't let me. So I guess I cannot test since UltraDMD.exe keeps crashing! NOOOOOO! The XDMD Demo.exe works fine :)

Update #2. I added a few files from the Demo directory that I could get working and now UltraDMD launches fine. Here are the files in my release directory:

Update #3. Got it working great on my cab, thanks Fren! The only issue I have is UltraDMD crashes when I quit the table in PinballX, but I can keep going when I get back to the menu. DOF is working great on this table too. Getting an average of 345 FPS on my cab. Wow, great release on VP10!

With the last couple of versions of  VP10 when I'm running Victory the ball sits on top of the ramp at the top of the screen and will go nowhere

Ok, I do not have any feedback on AMH yet, as I need to install the UDMD thing. I do however have feedback on other games.

I turned on ambient occlusion both in VPX and in my video card settings. In my video card setting I set it to Quality.

I turned FXAA all the way to extreme, Enabled 4xAntilaising, Force Anisotropic texture filtering, Checked Refect ball and Ball trails. Object detail maxed in VPX video options and ran some tests.

Kingpin =  avg. 115 FPS

AFM = avg. 348 FPS

Pacman = avg. 250 FPS

Mopar = avg. 115 FPS

Fastbreak = avg. 166 FPS

Papa Smurf FS = avg. 183 FPS

I saw no stuttering except for a small slowdown in motion as the ball is passing through the spinner in Kingpin. I also get the same effect only a little more noticeable in AFM when the ball approaches the Center ship. It only happens in those spots. I would imagine its a code thing specific to what the authors are doing with that part of the table that is causing that.

I will do more tests and give you feedback as I can.

UltraDMD is not registered bolt, go back and make sure UltraDMD registered!

Thanks for the info!

I get very playable 110 FPS on AMH with quality fxaa, but unplayable at the prettiest 4xaa =[ I think quality FXAA is fine so I'll try that out for a while here with ambient occlusion.

you could open the script and fine the line that says "America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD" and remove the leading slash?

That's odd, PinballX must be handling this oddly, I haven't tried it on my cab yet with PinballX. I'll investigate this evening though

Hi fren, I tested the two ways to register UltraDMD, but I got the same error.

I can start the Ultra DMD.exe and it works(A DMD open in the left corner).

Where is my error?

That is the question, in both try to register the DMDUltra.

I can see for a mill. sec. an open Window. But no info that the DMDUltra is registered.
