Freddie: I updated your flintstone score but the DMD is not legible can you increase the brightness of your dmd, I believe there is an option to do this. I could barely make out the FWP on the DMD.

Tom: I updated the Phoenix to reflect VP9 on my end, but the pdf won't get fixed untill a couple of weeks!!

Bolt: Please try to follow the posting rules, if someone could translate post 1081 page 55, for bolt in German that would be nice!!!

Played in my first REAL tournament on T2, WCS94, Junkyard, & Adam's Family. 27 people registered. in qualifying I finished 5th in Junkyard(one try), 6th in T2(one try) 8th in Adams Family(two tries) but I sucked, 25th at WCS.(two tries). I did make the 16 man brackets in 12th place. But when It came time for head to head, when you have to alternate balls, I played miserably/had some immediate outlane drains, and went two and out. Most of these guys only play REAL pins, so it was a blast to compete, but I need to focus more on relaxation( I seen alot of players with headphones/mp3 players on while playing). I might try that next time at the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee in a couple of weeks. I only spent six dollars in tries to qualify, some people spent as much as 25 to 30 bucks, or more.. It was fun, but sometimes the ball just doesn't roll your way!!!

PS: Jason Werdrick was there, a really great PAPA player from Chicago, he actually went to the losers bracket near the end,but I had to take off before the finals, because it was a 2 hour drive back and the four of us were beat. I did watch him post a 375,xxx,xxx million game on t2 and he never hit payback time, it was all cannon shots and jackpots. A whole different strategy, when juggling multiball, I watched him hit four 50 million SUPER JACKPOTS on the first ball within about 2 minutes of a multiball. SWEET!!!

Great to hear of people playing in real pinball comps smile.gif
It must be a cultural thing, but I would find someone wearing headphones really quite rude...most of the point of playing competitive pinball comps in the UK is for the social aspect & the banter - no-one takes it that seriously that they have to "zone-out" from the world around them...I'm not saying that no-takes it seriously...and you're not talking to the player whilst they're playing (unless you know them very well and know it's ok), but it just struck me as very anti-social behaviour to wear earphones in that sort of setting. Plus a bit weird, as a lot of machines give you audio clues adhead of visual ones as to what to go for. Oh well, each to their own I suppose.
Though I would definately agree that you need to relax when playing in competitions, as I know from other "sports" (especially martial arts), as soon as you tense up your reaction time drops dramatically.

Good luck in the next one dblthumb.gif

Regards,
Dan.

I had a fairly decent game of JP's new Back to the Future today. Data East games tend to not be my favorites, but I love some BTTF.
