Wow, I have to say the update regions checkbox with the latest builds has increased my fps on some demanding games!

I was able to remove the black light alpha refreshes and code to clean up the table and increase the framerate so now a few games I could  NOT play on my cab are now playable.

This will change the way I create tables from now on.

One other minor tidbit to increase the framerate. I had to change the registry key ddraw to 0 on a few tables to boost their performance.

This decreases the size of the DMD on my cab, but takes away all stutter on a few tables.

Great work my friends!!!!!!

Since you guys are adding stuff everyday, maybe you can enhance the way tables get saved or backup for table authors? If this can be added before VP 9.2 is finalized all the better.

In this thread Melon lost all his progress http://www.vpforums....052#entry245924 and many authors had similar issues. Can the dev team possibly look into why this happens on occasion? Ofcourse if VP crashes that's one thing, but for a hile to get corrupt when closing out is another. I know the autosave feature should help safegaurd against this. In melons case it was disabled. I am wondering if there is a way to let remind the user that autosave is disabled? Possibly put some additional functionality into the autosave feature like how it names the file (timestamp or numbering scheme).

actually i looked into this a while ago, but the problem is that the used version of scintilla in VP is soooooooooo old that it didn't work right out of the box, and i was scared to touch the code, as i don't understand it..

so if we have some wizard here that knows about such stuff, i would be please to cooperate there..

have to revert my statement there, i now have a version that seems to work with newest scintilla.. i'll commit this later-on, but i have NO clue if everything still works like it should..

done rev760 has the newest Scintilla version 3.3.6. With this change you get line numbers and in case of an error the cursor will jump to the error line. Other improvements will follow but please test it first ;)

btw: you need SciLexer.DLL in your VP directory otherwise you can't use the script editor.

Please try rev 761. It should delay closing VP until saving is done.

It would also be a nice feature if you could add the ability to click on multiple objects and group them then drag them at the same time in the editor. I know you can group things in a collection but its still a PITA.

Let's see what future versions of VP will bring ;) The grouping feature isn't easy to add...

this is now not necessary anymore with rev 762, so everything is the same as before (except for scintilla being new ;))

I had compiling issues too...please try rev764. I added my own static library which has only a small amount of lexers.

oh great...I think we have a compatibility issue between Visual Studio 2008 and 2010. I built my lib with 2008 and it doesn't link with 2010 and vice versa.  Should we abandon VS2008? The only alternative I see here is using a DLL instead.

yeah, the old problem as soon as libs use 'fancy' stuff like stl..

i guess we have to use the dll again for maximum compatibilty/safety.. :/

or we must have multiple versions of the lib..
