One more quickie JP, and apologies if this has already been brought to your attention, I couldn't see it anywhere. This would be a hardcore Stiffees dream come true... smile.gif

You might have read in the latest pinmame release they introduced support for the actual Scared Stiff prototype rom: Added a lot of WPC/WPC-95 sets including the real Scared Stiff prototype rom with working kickback! (thanks Pete Haduch!)

This kick back was one of the (many) features dropped for the final production model. I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a protype version of your table which uses this rom and has the kick back reinstated!

There's a bit more info on how the prototype rom differs in the rom release thread. Deadhead LEDs controlled by the rom would also be sweet: http://www.vpforums....php/t14417.html

I realise there would probably be a lot of work involved but I just wondered if it's a project you might consider in the future? Here's an image of how the playfiled would look with the KB installed just beneath the SPELL light:

Cheers!

Thanks for considering this idea JP! It would be fascinating to see how this would have been implemented in the gameplay, and to see if there was any speech or DMD animations that had been cut.

Enjoy your Sunday! coffee1.gif

Update 1.4.1 4 September 2011
- fixed skillshot (now it is possible to get the skillshot, and once you have learned how to do it it is quite easy)
- added ball collision and rolling sounds (I guess you won't notice them very much since the rom makes a lot of noise smile.gif )
- added support for prototype rom (you'll need to download the rom called ss_01 if you want to use it)
- adjusted flipper settings (that's the never ending story smile.gif )
- made the flashers brighter (still they are very discrete, so they are not big flashes which lighten up half of the table)

The table uses the latest rom as default. If you want to use the prototype rom and the kickback then you just need to change a line in the script, the one who chooses the rom. Look at the script at the lines 22 and 23, I guess you'll know what to do smile.gif (if not, then it has to do with adding a ' and removing a ' smile.gif )

I left the latest rom as default since the game seems to be working better with the latest rom, mostly the music, and there are nearly no change in the gameplay.

Thanks for your on going support JP in polishing up your already great tables!!! One question will you be using oooPLAYER1ooo's new alpha flasher (Leathal Weapon 3) in your new release's?? Apparently its just a brush tool and super easy to use?? This lighting effect just adds so much to a table and brings it one step closer to the lighting effect you get from real tables

I have already used a similar flash effect in Diamond Lady, Time Machine and ST25th smile.gif I prefer a more subtle flasher, but it is no problem to make the flashers more colorful. Take a look at those tables and you'll see the effect.

Thanks for the update. I guess you have mastered virtual servers which I read a while back that you were working on for work. I found a small problem, I got a crate multiball, and lost 1 ball and it kept me in multiball mode so I could kit jackpot by getting it into the crate. I did this for a while like 30 times, then lost the ball. The machine thought that I had another ball in play. Not sure where it was if it was stuck. I had to slam tilt it. Great table though, as always.

AMAZING - THANK YOU for the update!!!!

Really enjoying playing with the prototype rom, the kick back is a funky little feature. Doesn't have Mr Scared Stiff talking so you can enjoy the rest of the audio. I think there's also some cut soundbites in there - 'taxi drivers' in the crate, and 'hot head' on the first playthrough, can't remember hearing these before....

These are really cool things to experience. Thanks to all involved for getting hold of the rom, providing support in pinmame and to JP for adding support to the table!!

One small issue, I got a VB script popup during multiball, with 'object required' and '0'. Table didn't quit I just had to press enter to continue the game.

Cheers again JP. You've made a lot of geeky pinheads happy with this update!!!

The ball has been getting stuck in the top pop and its going machine gun. Basically ends the game right there, happened two times in a row now.

JP,

I found a bug on the table...

Before you complete the six tales of terror you can play the stiff o' meter anytime.

just a few tips....
I just did some adjusts too to improve physics to me... I thought the ball seems to be more ramdon and flipper with good strenght using this values below.... Please, try it in your 56/34 inc/fov tables smile.gif wink.gif tup.gif

Flipper Physics
Speed 0,27
Strenght 0,29
Elasticity 0,56
Scatter Angle 0,2
Return Strenght 0,099
Recoil velocity 20
Power-law 2
Oblique correction 6

Table Physics
Tbl Slope Min dif. 5,4
Tbl Slope Max dif. 5,7
Global Difficult Level 0,1
PBW Accelerometer - checked
Normal mounting - checked
Accelerometer gain 1,2

Backdrop
Gravity Constant 1,9
Contact Friction 0,0015
Contact Scater angle 0,5
Dampening Speed 58
Dampening Friction 0,75

I also tried it on your No Fear, and it was Great!! smile.gif

Thank you very much!!

Hahahaha!!! I forgot to mention a value in Flipper Physics - Scatter Angle 0,2 Sorry dblthumb.gif
