JP you truly are the best. Thank you for all you do!!  any chance of getting pro pinball big race usa in vpx?

I'm sure I couldn't be able to get that game to play as good as it does in its original format. The pro pinball series were very good in all aspects, graphics, sounds, rules and gameplay. So my version would simply be a poor man's copy.

You can even play them in a cab:

PinCabView 3.2 : BigRaceUSA-FantasticJourney-TheWeb-Timeshock & WormsPinball-RallyFever! - Other Emulation - VPForums.org

JP i have a walking dead and a taxi in my dining room the arcade i work in has 24 machines of those you've reproduced in some fashion we have AFM, Stern Star Trek, Ghostbusters, xenon, Diamond Lady and we've at some point had or i have owned, TOTAN, 8ball, party zone, radical, Space Shuttle and chances are I'm missing a bunch but I assure you sir that your selling yourself short and that your games play very well, Visual Pinball wouldnt be what it is without you and i bet your big race USA would be amazing!   Also thank you for linking me to those loaders now i gotta find those old CD's! not that my pc has a cd drive lol

poke them in anything with a CD, then create ISO images which windows has no trouble mounting
modern PC's HDD is probably big enough to eat a stack of CDROM sized ISO

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Hello Friends,

I am running the latest version of VPX, 10.6.2, on windows 10 64 bit.

I am getting the following error code when attempting to load this great table in VPX.

"This table was saved with version 10.70 and is newer than the supported version 10.60! You might get problems loading/playing it!"

Followed by:

"Could not create sound buffer for load."

I have a feeling I am just missing something here like a plugin, any help would be greatly appreciated!

-David

No, just as the message states

This table was made with 10.7

It requires VPX 10.7, you can not play it in 10.6

You sir are a legend, and its gotta be pretty awesome for you to get to play space cadet in VPX, JPsalas doesn't give himself enough credit, I work with real pinball machines full time and i found myself at the arcade i work in playing space cadet while sitting amongst 24 physical machines the other day it was kinda comedic,  that just goes to show the quality of what you guys produce, both the original and vpx versions alike.  Good stuff thank you for your contributions to my lifelong pinball addiction.

Thanks, that game was my very first published game design, with all the rough spots and warts you'd expect.  I think we were fortunate that any mistakes we made with respect to realism, nevermind pinball fundamentals, didn't prevent it from still being fun to play.

Omg this brings back so much memories... Thank you for another great contribution to the community!

Funny thing for me though is, the original windows pinball, was what got me into visual pinball... (well first future pinball then vp)

But after re-playing the windows one, (somewhere in 2013 i believe),  i started searching for other digital pinballs, (pinball arcade comes to mind)

but then eventually visual pinball.

Which is the rolls royce of pinball software! (imo)

Oh and on a sidenote, your tables are very great to learn from... (i'm currently in the process of building a table myself) (modified congo table in a crash bandicoot theme)

And i already have learned so much from your tables and explanations on the forum!

Anyway keep up the good work JP!

Curious if anyone remembers the pinball game the Dommelsch beer company made for PC, XP I think?  It's called Roll m Up.  Very cool game.  This would be equally fun in VPX.

I have never played that game, but by the videos in YouTube it seems to be a nice game. I guess I'll never play this game since it doesn't work under Windows 10, or at least the installer doesn't work.

UPDATE

1.04 Updated 09.10.2021
- a few small fixes at the end of the ball. Maybe they were already fixed in version 1.02.
- Fixed tilted sound.
- Added some missing game sounds
- changed the flipper physics
- added sidewalls
- changed environment image
- fixed multiball lights (asteroids)

I have had this version for a long time, but I never uploaded it. This is not the table jwkramer61 uploaded, but it is mostly a bug fix from my 1.03 version. So there is no super fancy new DOF commands, just the old ones.
The only thing new I added now, is my physics, which I go back to a more traditional flipper settings, removing the heavy ball and the super fast flippers (ClakKent style). Still the new flipper settings fits very well with the low friction on all the objects and the heavy use of the Elasticity Fallof on the rubbers and other objects.

Anyway, enjoy it :)

Now that I remember, I also made some new lights for the missions. Instead of a plain arrow I made a kind of neon arrow, I said a "kind of", which I thought it was a nice touch to the graphics :)

line 2618: DMD CL(0, "ENTER THE"), CL(1, "HYPERSPACE KICKER"), "", ScrollLeft, eScrollLeft, eNone, 1500, True, ""

there is an "e" missing at the first ScrollLeft I guess :-(

Your table looks great and plays awesome, I loved the MS Game back then...

Could you PLZ give helpful advice on how to (or why I cant) get the DMD displayed...??? I got the impression that this is an issue affecting more people besides me...

I am Using vPX 10.7 in my cabinet installed by the AllInOne Setup from this site.

THX for Advice...

Have not installed FlexDMD personally but it seems it came with VPX7setup.zip (All In One Installer from this site)...

The FlexDemo.vpx Table is running perfectly well (? I think)...

FlexDMD is located in the VPinMame SubDir and FlexDMDUI States it is V 1.8.0 and each Checkmark is green...

What makes me think that none of the "Play" Buttons on any of the config Tabs seem to have any effect at all...

In FlexDMD.log I can find an Error Message stating that it can't load dmdscreen.dll in the VPinMame SubDir...(since it is not present, no where inside my installation)...

Any further advice...???

THX and Cheers...

Ok, after checking some other JP's Table Threads I found a hint by someone with the same issue...

I had an entry in my dmddevice.ini stating virtualdmd enabled = false - after setting to true the dmd appeared...

I think that did the trick, even if I have no Idea who/what entered that setting in that ini...(might be some default)...

Anyways, THX for pointing into the right direction...

Cheers...
