The quality of work that all of you creators are pushing out is absolutely sublime. You guys truly are artists of the VPin world.

You have no idea how much of a difference it is going from 1080p to 4k - so, start saving up.

I couldn't agree more...  Having tested for my cabinet build on a 1080x1920 monitor and then buying a 2160x3840 monitor for the new cabinet I am absolutely floored by the improvement.  It's almost like playing on a real full sized table. (with the right vpx tables to play) =)

I saw that some tables are "made for" 4k (e.g. Medival Madness)...

Do the REGULAR table builds also looks nicer on a 4k monitor??????????

AND I wonder if the table looks also finer on a smaller CAB, bacause I own a FULL size CAB with a 46" monitor...??

This cannot be stressed enough.  The day 4k 120hz on a 43" panel is reasonable, I will be first in line.  But, alas, 60hz-4k will have to do.  *sigH*

A small update to let you know I am still blendering away...:

I am now using an experimental build of Blender with two features: dithered sobol and scrambling distance as part of the render settings.

https://www.blendern...dithered-sobol/

And on top of that an experimental addon which adds Nvidia AI denoising to Blender:

https://github.com/t...ser-for-Blender

I rendered the screenshot below with the following settings:

- dithered sobol switched on

- scrambling distance of 0.3

- resolution 6000 x 4000 (this is due to the fact that the Nvidia denoiser adds some blur, after rendering I reduced the image size to 3000x2000)

- 500 samples

- denoised by Nvidia Optix AI denoiser

Render time is about 45 minutes.

G5K also helped me with advice on lighting settings, not everything translates to Blender easily, but very valuable!

Progress so far:

- 3d modelling about 95%

- materials 50%

- conversion to VPX 0%

I love viewing your work on a tablet on which it’s possible to zoom in on every little detail, Flupper. At lower right a metal ball stop at end of ramp reflects an image opposite with curvature and metallic texture. This is seen through a clear plastic ramp that blurs and refracts the first image. Mind blown!

:P

:surprise:  This looks so beautiful, I could put it in a frame and hang it on the wall   :otvclap:

And thanks again for whitewater!
I played the real one a few days ago, and now I know even more how good your version is!
