actually it was pretty trivial, as there are clipping regions which i did not know also work for these kind of operations.. :)

Would it be possible to make Banzai Run work correctly in a FSS set up?

The arrow key movement in camera/light mode is awesome.  I kept opening tables just to zoom in and pan around the table.  Thanks for this as well as all the other cool features added just within a weeks time!

there's still a problem with the depth buffer usage in camera mode (e.g. z fighting if coming to close to the table), but apart from that, yes it's awesome!  :)

Possible bug, the ball decal image can no longer be selected in preferences ball rendering.

Cheers

Bug:  new pan/zoom features automatically activate if you press the arrow keys when not in camera mode.

Slight problem for me as I have my flippers mapped to the arrow keys.

As I don't have any programming skills I can only see it as an end-user and I would like to ask for these updates in the next update....

1) one of the video-options in that you can do automatically adjustment of the day/night mode based on your location.

However, doing this: the day-intensity is very much to much bright.

It would be great to have a (double) slider where you can adjust the maximum brightness during daytime and the minimum darkness during nighttime so the table will "move" in-between.

Something like this:  (this is for a monitor size but you'll get the idea: a double-in-1 slider for night (left) <--> day (right

slider.jpg

2) not a big thing but it would be nice that when in camera F6 mode you wouldn't have to press the buttons step by step for every change but that if you press the button and keep it pressed the value will go up/down until you release the button.

What you think about this? Would it be possible?

Thank you!

its a good idea but you would still need a third button for manual adjust, 2 buttons so  you can set the limits, and 1 to select the actual light condition, in automatic mode the third button could actually be a needle that moves as the light changes to show its current position in the range.

Congrats Hanz on your new promotion. It sounds like you speak the same language and have similar skills as Toxie and Fuzzel. Is this true? Do you plan on assisting those guys with VP10 development?

@ toxie/fuzzel,

So clearly something has been changed in the way objects are scaled, now only scale locally is occurring and not scaling globally as it was prior to 10.3+

so now when I scale 250+ objects in the x and y all the object parts shrink or grow individually from each elements own center, rather than all the elements widening horizontally or vertically from one point of reference.

I think this needs a global/local scaling checkbox maybe ?

In retrospect I will answer this,  not only do I speak the same language as they do I wrote my own 3D modeling software and  a 3D viewing software for the oil and gas industry, it was really a very special piece of software because it could render ~1billion polygons in a tiled strategy I developed as a near real-time rendered.

rev3029 is up:

- camera mode: holding flipper button to increase/decrease camera settings
- fix setting ball decal image in the video preferences
- make temporary inclination changes in cam mode move code work again
- use clip regions for new alpha blended images
- cleanup cam mode move code a bit and disable it if no cam mode active (otherwise severe rendering errors and most likely weird behavior for some users that mapped the arrow keys)

Hanzoverfist, so great to have you on board. Interacting with so many creative, intelligent, generous, and fun-loving people on this board and other VP boards is almost as much fun as playing the games.
