Hey DDH69 so tried your 7.10 update and the matrix and left and right led strips stopped working in pbfx3 and future pinball. I went back to my previous version and all ok.  Another person having similar issue posted here https://www.vpforums...0#commentsStart

Recently I have been unable to run B2S in FX3. This time I have errors as below. What could be the reason?

This line

05-kwi-20 15:58:01.585 - Failed to attach to process handle = 0

means that the Windows system call to OpenProcess from DOFLinx has failed.  DOFLinx does not gather the extended error information via a subsequent system call, so not much more information.  Perhaps check your system log and see if any errors appear there.  Historically this has been a permissions type issue, but given DOFLinx has successfully elevated its privileges

this shouldn't be the case.

 

Is this happening every time you run?  Are you running anything as administrator, ie elevated privilege?  Do you have any custom security settings?  If not perhaps temporarily try DOFLinx runnign as admin (shouldn't be necessary and we shouldn't leave it that way, but worth a fault finding attempt).

I'm running directly exe (no as admin) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX3\Pinball FX3.exe
 
Indeed, when I run DOfLinx as administrator the log looks a little different. There are no bugs, it looks all right but still I can only see a black screen on the backglass, and a path that says that FX3 is looking for graphics for the backglass, for example:
 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX3\data\steam\BALLY_Champion_Pub[bmp, gif, png, jpg]
 
Tried with FX3 and FX3_PUPlayer path

OK, sounds like you have 2 issues;

1. Turn off backglasses inside FX3.  That should stop it trying to load and giving you a message about jpg, etc.  That is not a DOFLinx error.

2. You have some sort of permissions error stopping DOFlinx connecting to the FX3 Steam process.  Running DOFLinx as admin is "a big hammer" to stop that error and show that DOFLinx is on fact working, the issue is Windows / permissions.  Check if DOFlinxExt.dll is present and unblocked.

In fact, I just switched BACKGLASS REPOSITIONING to OFF. Now it works beautifully. Thank you! :)
So far, I'm running DOFLinx as admin. I'll try to find the cause. DOFLinxExt.dll is unlocked.

After installing the latest DOFLinx update (7.2.1), my RGB Flashers are crazy bright in FX3 games. I was running DOFLinx 7.02 prior to the update. In my DOF configuration, flasher brightness is set low (10). It seems like the latest DOFLinx is ignoring that. Any ideas?

After installing the latest DOFLinx update (7.2.1), my RGB Flashers are crazy bright in FX3 games. I was running DOFLinx 7.02 prior to the update. In my DOF configuration, flasher brightness is set low (10). It seems like the latest DOFLinx is ignoring that. Any ideas?

 

DOFLinx has never used the intensity that you set in the DOF config tool for any RGB device.  The percentage intensity is set by the calling emulator.

 

There are only two ways to theoretically do this;

1) Rewrite every FX3 file - super dull

2) Adjust all colours down in intensity by creating yourself a custom directoutputconfig.ini file that you point to from the DOFLinx.INI - not so hard, but it will also use those lower intensity colours for all other RGB based devices.

Anyone else notice massive stutter in Space Station?  Only this game.  Thanks for the DOF updates, makes playing sooo much better.

Option #2 works well for me, thanks. Nice that DOFLinx has this built-in flexibility. Here's how I did it:

In doflinx.ini, I point to my custom color file like this:

#DIRECTOUTPUTCONFIG=c:\DirectOutput\directoutputconfig51.ini
# Alternative directoutputconfig.ini file that defines colors for FX3
DIRECTOUTPUTCONFIG=c:\DirectOutput\fx3colors.ini

...and fx3colors.ini contains my dialed-down custom colors, like this:

[version]
version=3463
mindofversion=0.8

[Colors DOF]

White=#101010
Red=#100000
Lime=#001000
Blue=#000010
Yellow=#101000
...etc

That's it.  If you look at at your generated DirectConfigOutputxx.INI you will likely already have "dimmed" versions of the colours prefixed with (I think) ""L" and there is another.  You can simply copy those and remove the prefix letter.

I don’t think that works (copy the dimmed version of the colors). For example, in my DOF config ”white” is #FFFFFFFF and the dimmed version, “cwhite”, is “#FFFFFF10”. In my testing, DOFLinx ignores the trailing byte “10” (the intensity value). I had to adjust  R, G, and B values individually (for example, to get the intensity I want, white needs to be “#101010”). Modifying over 100 colors by hand sounds tedious, but I simplified it by making a spreadsheet that generates all the values I need, which I copy and pasted to my fx3colors.ini file.

Thanks to Doflinx, got most of my FX3 tables setup with SSF. Only tables I'm missing SSF for are my FX2 tables South Park, Splosion man, Plants VS Zombies. Wondering if Doflinx will ever be configured for SSF on these tables.

Thank you again DDH69 for your work. I do have an issue I have been trying to figure out for some time. For FX3, Doflinx appears to be working for all light effects (ie..Flashers), except the undercab lights, which now just flash random colors. When I pull the plunger, it changes to solid red, but then back to random color flashing. Before, they stayed a solid color for each game. I have updated to 7.41, but no other changes to my system other than the automatic Steam update. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
