The latest beta while working in the editor is a nightmare! I couldn't get though 4 saves, it just kept crashing yesterday!

Did you try sending the crash dump files to toxie and/or fuzzel?  They might be interested in what's causing the editor to crash...

Best Regards,

Kruge99.

To be honest, I don't bother anymore..

It seems to me I only piss people off when I point things out that we should see in VPX like features or issues in the editor..

I'm sure it will get fixed eventually, I'll just wait and continue my work then.. I'm really in no rush...

Hi.

Tom was selling VP and the community's work on DVD. When confronted, he uploaded flyer images in the place of file uploads in an attempt to render them useless. He was subsequently banned, because both actions are a huge violation of our rules.

If Tom wants to contact me via email, I'm happy to resolve our differences. You're both very talented.

Thank you.

No wonder he kept asking you to close the thread. Seemed suspicious to me, but im a paranoid schitzophrenic, so I am suspicious of everything.

There are other people here selling stuff from the community, too. I wonder if there is really no fear of B/W...

Tom Tower.

Members selling authors content is unacceptable. It's all here for FREE. I was happy to give Tom the benefit of the doubt, but then he went and tried to corrupt his uploads.

Still willing to discuss, Tom. You have my email.

Not sure what you mean, but, if I'm understanding correctly, there's nothing wrong with being reasonable, is there?

@chepas: We don't NEED anybody around here selling authors' content, but it's always hard to see active and contributing members go.

I know it wound Dozer up a bit because some of it was his stuff, mods or whatever, JPs. Do you lose people from being annoyed about that or do you lose him? I'm not even trying to say one or the other here either because I don't know him

I haven't really been around here that much for a good while because have been pretty busy myself but it's like you got 4+ sites doing the same thing as here, people selling, people robbing, hell of a lot of craziness, lack of respect I have seen in just these past couple of days.

I can only speak for myself, I personally gave Tom Tower permission to upload my tables to his website. I only discovered recently that he was selling them and tried to see his point of view. First of all, that is 100% not acceptable, second it's kind of a slap in my face, this work I've put in could (potentially) be used for another's profit. He says (or someone else did, I forget) that he sold then at cost. I get the main reason he does it, people on the outside want a quick way in, downloading 1 by 1 will take forever. So he gave the people what they wanted... Mistake being that he charged anything for it. A FREE torrent would be better but again that's only me speaking for my recreations. Maybe I'm in the minority but I guess I should be honest, I got started from a torrent. It was a great launching pad and it got me set up quickly, so maybe I come from a different opinion than any other author. My point is, I think Tom's a good guy, and he's provided a lot, but it should mean more coming from him, I'm only stating my thoughts.

People should be held accountable for their actions. I'll be banning those found selling this stuff and forwarding their offers to the right people for removal.

@Fren - he was charging, like $25 or $35 for it!

Jesus that was kind of rambling. I hope it didn't make me look bad lol

Yea that's not at cost then lol. I looked at his page and saw the DVD - never saw where to buy it. That makes the rest of my point kind of moot unfortunately...

Last consensus, authors do not want their work in torrents, either. Enough stink was raised to get it removed from demonoid.

Probably true. I've likely got an outsider opinion on it since I'm relatively new. I'm happy I got such a head start with the torrent though and I see the temptation to sell something similar. There's a lot of demand. You see it all the time here, a new guy just wants it all in one easy install. Resist the temptation and just do it right. I can't imagine how someone could think that was OK - to have the wherewithal to ask (myself at least) for permission to post the table but not mention that oh hey it's also for sale... It can't be that simple, right? I don't see the logic. I mean he didn't even hide the site so obviously he didn't think it was wrong. :headscratch:

You are still attacking him in public and he can't even reply , Donald Frentz.

He only made this DVD for people that don't know how to setup or configure VP in their cabs. The price for the DVD was 5 euro in Italy, the price covers the shipping and material costs; it's abvious that if you order it from the US, you will pay it more; anyway the DVD was removed after you intimated him of legal actions. Every table in his little site is hosted with author permission.

What about you selling your cabs for 8000 euro here in Italy with tables installed?

What about you selling material without author permission?

I have evidence, you should be banned for the same actions.

Now close this thread, I don't want my tables in your site, thanks
