So, why don't play VP8 Tables with VP8? I would LOVE to. Specially for all those Tables that have been abandoned over the Years. But! There is no good way to play those Tables, since i can't play them the way they were meant to be played. i cannot recall for one single Table that has been developed for 16:9 view. They are all 4:3. Since my Monitor always stretches the Picture he gets, i can't fix that with a setting in the GFX. I would love to put those 884 old VP8 Tabes (i think i missed a few) on my Netbook to carry them around with me, still the same problem of stretching i have here. If my records are right then there are ca. 400 Tables that have never got the VP9.x treatment. Of that 400 are 66 Solid State Tables. What a waste!
But it would have been a nice feature for a VP8 Classic edition to create a 4:3 Screen with some thing as black Borders or Ornaments or such, wouldn't it?
But unfortunately no one except a few seem to have an interest in a VP8 Classic Edition or a VP9 that could handle V8 Tables properly. Don't let me be missunderstood: I really love tipotos T2 Chrome on my Cab. But from all the NonCab T2 Versions the VP8 one was the best in my opinion. Maybe the Cannon didn't work right, but everything else was great and i played it for years and would like to play it again. But... really not on windowed mode!

I don't know if it needs a redo or what. But the Jurassic park fs tables give me script errors. I tried 2 different ones both did the same thing. Also the super Mario fs machine 2nd level play field flipper is choppy. And it's not lag since the other flipper works fine. I'm fairly new to new this site and it's a great place. And after playing loadedweapons night tables I really hope he can get a night mod done I requested by winter of Mario. I don't have a job or I would donate, but thanks to all the the workers who make the magic happen.

One table I love could use a tweeking, Capcom's Big Bang Bar. The graphics are great already, it really could use a PM5 update and maybe a good Dark Mod with nicer flashers with the lens flares. Again, the table is super nice already, it just needs a slight update to bring it back up to date.

I agree, but i can't see anyone PM5ing it, but i'm sure we will see a VP10 and then it will get the lighting effects it deservers.....

There's never a shortage of things people aren't happy with!
ain't that the truth!!!!
It's just ridiculous to see all the negative comments about tables people spent months building & creating.. Especially knowing how much work was put into them, to just get shit on like that.. Seeing stuff like this makes me to second guess why I even build tables..

ICP and Fren. I totally understand your frustration. That gorgeous VP10 lighting and those awesome physics are perhaps making some of us guilty of insensitivity toward you guys who devote hours of your lives and years of design expertise to make this such an amazing hobby for us mere players. I hope you'll forgive us! I can't think of a day in the last month or two when I did not personally benefit from your generosity.
I fear coming across as patronizing, but I want you to know how much we appreciate you guys!

its just like when someone spends countless years restoring a classic car... eventually it will need to be restored or updated again...
it's nothing against the original "restorer" but newer techniques, methods and materials can make something that was/is great even better...
I dont think I have read one post that people were being blatantly, disrespectful or ungrateful (in this thread)... I know for a fact that anything I have ever said was never of that intent, in the least....
these are opinions (yeah the old joke , assholes everyone has one...lol) but really it is just opinions.... dont get me wrong i have seen blatant, fix this , change that...on this and many other forums and many other hobbies... its just how forums work... its always going to be the " build the kite, for me" mentality... if you dont know this analogy, its when you ask for help building a kite and the next thing you know you're asking for someone to build the kite for you.... but anyway... i wouldn't take any of this personally, there are WAY worse things going on, on these forums then just opinions.... thats my two pennies

I mentioned this in another thread somewhere, and if I knew how to do it I would. I would like to see "Blackout" which I re-drew some months back... with the new physics of VP10 but more importantly a way to make the actual blackout feature work (on the original table if you achieved blackout, the GI lighting would go dark while in that mode). If anyone can do that, I'll give you all the files you need, and if you need anything more in the way of artwork I will give you that too.
Would also love a VP10 version of the already great looking "Mystic." That machine is brutal. I've been trying to beat my friends high score of 1.5 million on that thing for months and just ended up twitching on the floor. I'm thinking a VP10 version may not be as brutal. I'm looking for any edge I can get here.

I never meant to come off sounding harsh or disrespectful in any capacity. I just saw the thread and responded to it. I guess as the VP versions keep getting better there are favorites of ours that we would just like to see utilize those capabilities. Most of the big-hitters have already been redone over and over. But by no means do I not appreciate that original work.
