yes FS ftw! ;)

I installed VP991 on my desktop pc just to try the 3.71 LOTR XL Titanium :P looks nice ;) but you hardly see any details, when used to play on and compared to a cab ;)

Is it me or the graphic seems to be "harsh"  and jagged?

I've disabled AA but specially in the higher part of playfield I cannot distinguish ramps from playfield.

AA=1

Vsync=1

Force Anisotroping filter texture=1

Hey hey Slydog, thanks pal! i want to give you guys that FS version soon. i need to make sure i'm giving you guys the best before i do it, hopefully not too long :)

i'm glad you're watching!

Thanks Scorpius. Yes, this is currently tailored to the players requesting a taller view for the table. it's best played on a TV-size HD monitor, the detail is very small because of the perspective.

i want to bring out two different desktop views to accommodate for all players. One will have a much wider view.

Also, i over-killed the lights, and lost all focal points. i'll be re-releasing this soon, i'm not happy with the results. FS is coming

Thank you for noting it pincade, i will be improving the ramps :)

Ok, tried various settings:

with FSAA activated contours is a little bit less jagged, you made many progress since first screenshot but there's a sense of general confusion, I think for the lack of fake "Shadowed parts"

Just to make an example: is like an image made without layers that would give a sense of deep.

If you adjust this could be a great table, even if static

Thanks for that, yes i was over-tired when releasing XL.

The gold ramps are definitely a problem on my part, it's not your video settings.

Confusion is the word, yes :) too many lights, not enough ambient shadows. I gave you nowhere for your eyes to focus.

This is the look i had, which i'll be going back to:

Breaking news! i was going through all the image dimensions for the Playfield and Light insert graphics. And i made a fantastic discovery! This is the level of detail we can now achieve at the far reaches of the table.

untitled-b.jpg     untitled-13.jpg

a bunch of new hi-rez graphics that will be going into the table: (with thanks to Vampiro for assisting me here)

shots of real-life tables to help me grasp the final look:

it will be sometime before we have a next release, this next one will be BIG! stay tuned

These are the new graphics for all the ball-stoppers that were featured from LOTR v3.6.5 up

Okay, now this is SOMETHING!

i had this idea last night. Pincade mentioned that the table was static, which is true. So i was pondering it a lot, and i came to a method to be able to turn the lights inside the wall constructsas well as the light reflections across the playfield, into blinking lights. Just as you would have the light inserts change between their four levels of light. Now this was all great in theory, but i had a problem where the detail was just not enough to replace the playfield graphic.

BUT NOW! as shown in the above-post, having made light inserts and playfield graphics both increase at the same resolution (and a good one at that). i will now be able to animate giant-size segments of the playfield graphic, and by doing that, bringing the whole table to life (making it 'un-static'). This and the Balrog animation will have been my two greatest feats.

Just you wait and see! :aikido:

Much Thanks Waspstar! We're going to take this table to the stars :)

Wait until we have Balrog stepping out of the shadows into the light, all blazing in fire. i can just see it now!

i have to admit, making these graphics is a real challenge, but i guess i'm one who likes challenges.

i'll keep giving it my best. (i just need a good hot cup of Kronung coffee now xD)

With thanks to all the great support, and the valued remarks, we can make anything happen.

Uh nice nice nice.

Yes, JPSalas has graciously given us permission to mod the table.

i would happily welcome anyone on-board the project, whether it be a 'physmod5' or a new 'sound rom'.

Please PM me if you would like to assist.

What is going on behind the curtains on LOTR: Currently re-creating all Plastics for the table.

This is necessary for the new FS-conversion process. And because i am going to have to create most for the new table-graphics a 2nd time, i'm sure-as-hell going to give everything a full 110% this time-around! Thankfully Queen's lyrics will give me the go on this, :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:  :8):

Below: building new 3D constructs using multiple reference photos.

untitled-2.jpg

bottom: damaged reference image, (what i want it to look like)

middle [exploded view]: cutouts from various sourced photos, color patches to remedy pixelation and unwanted visual artifacts.

top: is the current WIP

3D-object illusions, by using graphics on a 2D-surface:

untitled-14.jpg

untitled-32.jpg

bottom image: At the top of the slingshots, two bolts are looking like they had one too many ... :bar1: :bar1: :bar1: :chair: . But actually this is correct.

top image: The red radial lines are really the true 'vertical' lines.

finished wip result:

newpicture5100b.jpg

lighting the way:

here is a real fine problem i just faced, the new slingshots look great in their final positions.

but how do i get the color we want from the real table? we have the graphic with all it's detail, but we need to somehow light it up ...

newpicture5166.jpg

trust me when i say this is no easy task, i'm am using extensive set of my own custom-made color&light filters. the same ones which i use to make your gold and metals shine the way they do.)

looks good, time to move on to the next challenge :aikido:

Today i got the wall tops animating. lots of work has been done and new things added.

animatino-loop0.gif

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

my mistake, this the Queen song i was thinking about, "Break-Free"! :yahoo: :yahoo: :lusty:

Getting back to more boring photoshop guides:

a damaged photograph of Freddy.M, what is this???

Oh no, no!, we really need to go and fix this! This could ruin my whole childhood!

newpicture5101.jpg

newpicture5101.jpg

newpicture5101.jpg

Ahhh yes! it looks like our Freddy.M just got some Photoshop special-care!
