It's not really sarcasm. It IS disappointing and I WILL hope throughout the next cycle that it is put back in. If not I will hope throughout the cycle after that.

Well you're in luck! We just had a discussion about keyboard nudging in the VP10 physics thread, and I'll implement a more realistic version of that soon.

How disappointing that a new release version comes once again without keyboard nudging recoil. Maybe by VP12 DX18? Please by then.

Isnt there a script thing which can do this? A nudge vbs or something i remember maybe .. Dont know exactly

There is, a .vbs but it is too out of date in other areas to use anymore. It did not work as well as VP8, or VP2 for that matter though.

We are talking about a bug in VP9 point anything, not a compatibility issue.

Here is an issue I have with 9.9.0. not sure if I am missing something.

Had a working version of 9.2.1 and downloaded the standalone version if 9.9.0 and overwrote the existing files. I am able to start tables in 9.9 but none of the buttons work on the pinball cabinet or keyboard for that matter, except for when I hit the coin button I can hear the coin sound. There is no sound from the ROM, the DMD is also on the backglass but nothing happens with it. If I select the DMD with the mouse it starts up but still no sound. Only the coin sound.

If I use the 9.2.1 exe everything works fine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

The DX9 version uses a different registry key, so make sure all your options are set up correctly.

VP 9.9.0 crashes for me as soon as I try to create a new table or open an existing one "visual pinball 9.9.0 has stopped working", never had this problem before.

edit:

hmmm, actually it only seems to do that if I run the physics3 test version prior to 9.9.0 - if I run 9.2.1 in between then 9.9.0 works so it seems physics3 test writes some reg keys that cause the crash for 9.9.0.

I can reproduce this 100%: run VP_physmod3.exe, exit - run VPinball990.exe and try to create a new table -> crash - now run VPinball921.exe, exit - try the exact same thing in 9.9.0 again and it no longer crashes.

When the ball rolls behind the slingshot, I can clearly see a black square around the ball. And when it lies still you can see it flashing and turning and being of rather poor quality.

I cant remember it being this way before dx9. This makes it look very unrealistic. Does anyone else see this?

Does it require a special dx9-version of all tables?

Hey all,

I have version '913' of VP (according to Help>About) so I assume that's 9.1.3?  Is 9.9.0 the latest and greatest?

I have a cab with 3 screens so which download should I get, full or standalone?  Also, I've just gotten my cab all set up working beautifully so what's the risk of things getting broken?  I just want to be sure before I update that my existing tables will still play and none of my settings will be overridden (such as key mapping etc).

Specs of PC are:

Intel i5 3570K

12GB DDR3 RAM

nVidia GTX670 (Playfield and backglass)

nVidia GT610 (DMD)

128GB SSD

Thanks in advance!

I have also a Problem with VP 9.9.0
When i start a table like AFM they run smooth, its perfect.
But when i start the same Table with Hyperpin using VP 9.9.0
the Frame drops down.
With VP i have 550fps
with Hyperpin 315fps and all stutter.

Now is question WHY?

Use the frame limiter, set it to 120 fps or whatever, and you should be fine.

Just finally got a chance to start checking out 9.9 and WOW! I had trouble loading tables that I had set physics override option with the numbers.

Which leads to a question... what's the difference between the manually entered physics settings vs the import/export way? And if I import settings, save and share with someone would those physics settings remain? Does it still reference the exported file?

Thanks

unfortunately not.

but I made an interesting discovery.

When i start afm (or any other table) with hyperpin and let me see the fps,

exactly after 30seconds the fps goes higher, and then the table runs smoothly.

What things is Hyperpin or FPlaunch doing in this 30 sec?

Is the ball suppose to move so fast in vp 9.90   I have only tried Mars Attacks and Scared Stiff, and Medieval Madness, but its super fast in all fo them, its kinda fun that way, but doesn't seem quite right.  Other than that is really impressive.
