Well guys I've decided to have a go at designing my own decals so installed CS6 suite and Affinity Photo and spent several painful hours today getting my head round this malarkey!
Thankfully I finally seem to be making a little headway and although its a slow learning curve I am starting to get a feel for it and the more I do the easier it becomes.

The above pic is my very 1st attempt and is a WIP The intention is to put Pin themed stuff to the left and have MAME themed art to the right but if I don't like the way it's going I'll just make it a Pin only and I will probs lose the Qbert'esk border and replace for something a little more Pin themed.

It's now just a matter of finding a layout I'm happy with but more importantly finding decent artwork which I can extract selections from. I started with Stuzzas montage (thanks for that Stuzza you're a star) but found a lot of it was not to my liking and I want to try use art from my favourite pins.

So a big ask guys if I may. Has anyone got any decent links to pinball art either in vector or Hi Rez stuff? I did have full decal sets for MB, MM and FH in digital form which would have been a great help but dam if I can find which drive I've stored them on Doh! I also have the real deal TZ, FH, JY pins and a couple of dozen translights I can photograph but I'm sure their must be lots of stuff kicking around the net somewhere which would save the hassle.
Unfortunately I seem to be finding the same old junk using google however one or two decent things have popped up and so ill soldier on in the meantime.

Thanks in advance

quick update after another spell on the mac and hey presto  although a little busy I've simplified the border to compensate

Great first attempts. I am have been contemplating artwork for a while. Not sure if I'll go custom and get Stuzza to do it, or if I'll attempt to do it myself - depends on time. Which I hardly have any, so so Stuzza's custom designs sound great,. You also appreciate how much effort it is when you start doing it yourself. I've already invest hours and hours on my build. (watch for my thread coming very soon)

To answer your question, I haven't found much in the way of pinball art online. Maybe we need to start a dropbox for shared images? I dunno. I did find a large Arcade repository once.

He said that it was commissioned by someone else (Court461), that means that Court461 paid him to make that and that it isn't available for download.  Sorry.

Here's another recently finished commissioned piece.  This one was done for user weevil6772 who is currently building a 2/3 scale Virtual Pin.   Ah Goonies, what an awesome movie! :)

47RKUPV.jpg

I'm wanting to do a full size Goonies themed machine or even a 3/4 size with dmd to use the Goonies vp pin on, not sure what machine I should look at and who can do the art.

Any help would be great!

This was a commissioned piece done for a forum member and so to respect that member the artwork is not available as a free download.  I can do a similar commissioned piece if you want to contact me via pm.

Stuzza, do you allow your art to be modified? I've been thinking about a Star Wars theme and some pieces of your SW original, and your templates would make it easier to do. I'd post here for your comments and input.

Yes, if it is art I have posted as a free editable download then you are welcome to modify as you see fit to suite your own cab.  I only ask that you only use for personal use and do not re sell or use on commercial products.

Feel free to post pics here if you come up with some new art.  I am also happy to add any modified art to my collection for others to use if you want to send me the finished files.

Starting my first build. I was going to keep the original 1978 Gottlieb cabinet art, but then read this thread and started to wonder about original ideas.

1. Classic 1977 Star Wars look. Some elements taken from Stuzza SW original art. Had this idea to build a coin door that looks like Millennium Falcon dashboard. Blue and white square buttons light and are functional. Small red LEDs would flash randomly. I'll probably change the lead tie fighter to Vader's ship. and look for the Falcon headed in the other direction.

2. Retro surf look. Thought about doing the red as wood stain, like old surfboards, apply decals and poly or clear. Wood DMD/speaker panel with tan tweed fabric over speaker holes like old Gibson amp. Not loving this yet. Worry it'll look odd when I'm playing MM or GHS2.

Suggestions welcome.

NO_FEAR_AR5194.jpg

I changed flames a little bit and added No Fear logo. Still some work to do with backglass and front, but before i finish this:

Can i use it for my cab?

Thanks, and once again great job.

One day i'll build Vitalik statue out of used AMD gpu's.

If you have been thinking about taking the plunge and having Stuzza do a design for you I can not recommend him enough.  Super easy to work with and extremely responsive.  He is worth every penny!

Hello, my test print arrived from local print house.

I think i'm going with full print - it's damn good quality for this price - 5 euro for every square meter.

Right now i got front of cabinet and 2x backglass sides plus some smaller stuff like speaker grill and custom stickers.

Need to print 2x cabinet sides, biggest ones :)

Here is cabinet front:

Thanks stuzza.

What is the font you are using on this for the "Multiball" text?  It reminds me of the font on the Metallica cabinet

Street Fighter is awesome!

Where i can get so high quality gfx resources for creating artwork? I believe it's 300dpi resolution so graphics are huge, when i was working on No Fear theme i had to vectorize logo by myself.

Great artwork man. Love it.
