I uploaded my VR version of Totan with full view cabinet and environment. Please let me know how it runs for you, since it contains very big textures and a reasonable extra amount of geometry:

This looks and plays great. Thanks Flupper!!

A couple things / issues I noticed.

1. I can only see the inside walls on the environment and some of the gold coins due to everything further out clipping black.  This happens on the Addams Family VR table as well and if i'm not mistaken is due to a limitation of VPXVR room size.

2. There are no flipper buttons on the cabinet so maybe in the future you can add them. If you do add them, making them animated like how they are on the VR Addams Family table would be sweet touch.

3. I have an analog PinSim plunger and while the inside of the plunger moves with the plunger,  the outside handle does not.  This does work on the Addams Family table so would be cool if you get that working here as well.

This are all just nit picking things though, the table plays great and the cabinet, DMD and room all look great. I would highly suggest anyone who has VPXVR installed to download this table ASAP!  Super nice work!

It does really make me think of how many awesome tables and environments we will have in the future.

Thanks again for sharing your work with us all!

@gear323: did you set the VR plane to 50000 in the VR settings in vpx? This should fix the black clipping.

Runs generally fine but stutters when flashers activate, just like the non-vr version. Ball reflection timer should be adjusted as it's lagging too much for VR refresh rates.

Nope, it was at the default of 500.   Changed it to 50000 as suggested and that fixed the VR rooms for both tables!  Don't know how I missed that one.

Thanks again!   Looks awesome!

Played around with the TOTAN VR version yesterday. It's beautiful on my Oculus Rift.

Is there an overview somewhere on this site where all VR versions are listed? AFAIK we now have:

- AC-DC Premium VR

- TOTAN VR

- TAF VR

- CSI VR

Maybe the forum needs a new section in the VPX tables dropdown?

Can't get it too work with my Rift S.

I see  the table on my monitor and see it moving on my monitor when moving my headset but or I only see a pitch black image or a standard VR screen with planets and such. I do hear the start up sound from the table in my Rift S. Did play arround with table heights and other settings but nothing sadly.

GPU: vega 56.

EDIT: FIXED IT!

For anyone else having troubles when using AMD GPU use old driver: 18.5.1

Kinda sux using an old driver but it's working!

I'm having a really strange problem getting VR working. I've got a Rift S and Steam VR beta 1.7.1

I loaded the VR plugin (10.6.0 3735 32bit) and loaded up the TAF VR table (v2.1_VR0.8.9)

  • Steam VR starts and connects
  • VR Preview pops up on the monitor
  • but I get a black screen in the Rift...

Sound comes through the rift fine, head tracking works (judging by the VR preview window), just no image in the headset.

I tried using INS and 0 to reset the view, but still nothing in the headset.

  • Should I be using the 64 bit version?
  • Do I have to reset the VR position variables? (i didn't touch them and didn't think i needed to since it showing in the VR preview)
  • Should I start by "zeroing" then out and go from there?
  • Maybe my Steam VR version is the issue?

I'll try playing around with it more, but I wanted to ask the community in case I'm just missing basic.

hi I fixed the same problem you have with using amd driver 18.5.1.

Should help you as well.

I don't think we have a section of our own yet on any of the usual download sites but it would be really nice if we did!   VR versions are awesome  :)

Still frustrated / confused about the performance (own experience vs what people report here).

I tested this with my pincab PC too and the experience was pretty identical, so didn't bother with clean OS install on the other rig. Metallica HF 1.5 stutters like hell all the time, but other tables generally run fine but flashers seem to be what kills it. Even the new Circus Voltaire runs fine with GTX970 except when flashers activate. GPU doesn't seem to matter much here, at least not with CV1 resolution. Both setups run all tables without hiccups in 4K50p non VR. Starting to wonder if people just don't care about stuttering or if it's CV1 related issue.

Test setups once again:

I have no stutters at all with totan VR, flashers or no flashers. I do have a 1080Ti of course but a 2070 should not be a problem.

@sniiki: I found a post in the cv thread on vpinball where someone claims, that he diabled the real time protection in the internet security settings in win 10. That helped him to get rid off the stutter while flashers are active. I didnt try this yet.

Successfully running nicely on Oculus Quest.

I really wish there was a VPX VR wiki tutorial,. It would help many.

I tried VR version of Arabian Nights posted recently.. The room works, but the pinball table is blacked out/shadowed.

Was able to get AC-DC working,

See here,

https://youtu.be/yd0qLh2xkMs

I would like to make the table a little wider.

There is a black shadow in corners as seen in the video.

Could someone please post screenshots of their graphics, vr, controller, etc settings?

Please help how to configuring Oculus Rift controllers for flippers and plunger, etc.//

Could someone using Oculus Rift , please post settings?  Thanks

Have screenshots but cant upload .jpg , the vpforums wont let me upload/? "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." Seriously?

Well damn, that really did help! I'd buy you a beer if that'd be possible.  :drinks: Not saying "well I knew that" but I was aware the rt protection causing perf issues as I had been testing that on my pincab about year ago but back then it didn't seem to make any difference (on non VR gaming).

With this off the CV is smooth with SS at 100%. With 150% it's still stutters a bit. I guess the conclusion still is that the CPU is the bottleneck in my case as the result was somewhat the same with that old GTX970 and a bit less clocked, but otherwise a tad faster CPU.

BTW. this didn't still make Metallica playable at all. Kind of implies Oculus is really heavy on CPU like you mentioned. I tried already the modified Oculus Home executable too that was supposed to lessen the burden but it didn't seem to help.

Even better, it seems to run fine with SS 150% now. I only played around with different ways to set the SS (from Steam, from Oculus Tray Tool and from Oculus debug tool). I'm absolutely sure I only had it set to more than 1.0 from only one place before too, but just went through all these apps and tested to set them all to 1.0 to verify (visually) that SS is off and then retried to set 1.5 factor from each of them separately. Result was seemingly identical every time. Got smooth gameplay and still had ~45% performance headroom (when I tested SS with ODT which was otherwise off to prevent it from overriding SS setting from other apps). Did not test SS from Nvidia settings.

It's a bit unclear what the processing order is with this many places to affect the same setting (5 in total). Also one of these seem to override VPXVR setting as setting Quality SMAA to 1.5 does not work at all in my case.

If so, PLEASE share how you have the controller configured. Having a problem binding the Oculus controller to flippers/plunger/ shake.

Also, anyone with similar specs, please post optimal/recommended settings in

Yeah, Virus & threat protection settings -> Manage settings -> Real-time protection. Rest of the options can be left on if wanted. Note that this setting will restore automatically to on position after reboot. To permanently disable it, group policies need to be edited.

This solution came just in time as I got my VR cabinet on its legs. Total cost 70€ as I only had to purchase legs and some metal look vinyl wrap for the lockbar that I carved from oak using small chinese cnc router. Body was built from scrapped Ikea furniture and electronics I stole from dust collecting old virtual pinball cabinet. Need to revise my plunger assembly. If only the VR had been available year ago, would have saved so much money and time but better now than never! Even after all the praises on this thread I feel this has not got the attention it deserves. This really feels so close to the real thing especially on these new tables with outstanding physics settings. Also, CV for example has what I think is the best ball rolling sound so far and it adds a lot to make the ball "feel" heavy.
