Well, I guess it would be nice to include viewing profiles on a per table basis... include Full Screen and Desktop settings (both WS and Normal), then either have the user select the default mode they want in the editor (saving if needed), and if possible, have a particular mode triggered by a command line switch regardless of which one is set to default (for launching fs version through fplaunch)... ex. C:\Games\VisualPinball\VPinball.exe /play -"TableName.vpt" -view1

This would allow for a single release including both versions.

Convert tables from desktop in full screen, and vice versa, it is not always possible without making any changes,

this was to help to set the X Scale for different screen resolutions,

or if it was possible that the X Scale is changed automatically when the XY Rotation is 0, depending on the resolution selected in the video options.

Thanks

Max

Basically what would be missing is some automatic 'detection' of what X/YScale and X/YOffset need to be, so that the table would fit the screen..

Then some additional user setting that can vary the two in addition (percentage of screen)..

(plus the obvious Inclination, FOV, Layback and Rotation)

It's not exactly rocket science, so i'll see what i can do..

You guys are doing awesome work!!

Would it be possible to make it so All pinball tables have the Ball rolling on wood sounds like Pinnuck uses on his tables by default? It adds so much to the playing experience, It would be nice if VP did this itself to all tables.

Global physics is a wonderful idea, i tried it but honestly i don't understand how it works, all i see is 8 sets available on global menu, but how can we apply one of these sets to a table?

Is it supposed to be a global disable? I thought it was just a global override to enable reflection, and turn it off in the table otherwise. With a 2 state checkbox, it would have to be on for all or off for all and table settings would have no effect... Should probably try to replace it with a 3 state box... checked for global on, unchecked for global off, and greyed out for per table settings.

As soon as you have saved one or more sets from the global menu, you can set the physics override in the table options (backdrop -> options -> physics)

Same goes for each flipper: Select the flipper -> physics

There you can enter the number of the set (0 means that it uses the local table settings, 1 is set 1, 2 is set 2, ...)

Guys, please try rev743. With this revision I added a faster fake antialiasing option to VP. It's not real AA because that's not possible with DX7 but it's a kind of a blur effect to smooth the image. You can enable it in the video settings for all tables or on a per table basis. It's experimental and I don't know how well this works out but you decide ;)

Here are two screenshots left one with AA enabled and the other one without.

When I try to enable this, all the alpha ramps and primitives disappear...

Hey Toxie / fuzzel, with the recent global / table specific settings I'm wondering if we could re-visit the table specific settings option for the alpha slider / levels.  This would be quite useful and would be nice to have like the current region optimizatin / updates per table setting.  Hopefully this can be done as it doesn't seem to need a restart and would appear in a class similar to the feasibility of the RU / RO additions recently in this regard.

Looking forward to trying some of the new ("fake") AA but I too am getting no alphas even after a restart of VP and seemingly regardless of any RU / RO configuration or combo.

hmm I can't reproduce that issue loosing all primtives. As I said it's experimental e.g. I get some white lines around the table lamps on CV but not on other tables i've tested yet (that only happens with RU on). Be sure to set the global AA switch before loading any table, or leave it unchecked and load a table and switch it on in the table options ("Enable Antialiasing"). I'm using a ATI card maybe we have a driver issue here and have to handle NVidia in a different way.

edit: I think it could be the case that NVidia drivers don't like different resolutions between frame buffer and the corresponding zbuffer. I'll check that tomorrow.

small addon: i did a minor tweak with the last revision so that a globally disabled AA doesn't alloc memory.. just for all people that are short on GPU memory..

so if you wanna use the fake AA then it must be enabled in the video settings AND the table settings..

Hey Fuzzel.

I tried 743 with the fake AA on for both Indiana Jones and Champion Pub. Just as Argo said above, the ball is invisible.  It's pretty funny actually trying to play with an invisible ball :)

The jaggies that are normally present with Indiana Jones on my cab are definitely softened with the fake AA though.

Thanks for all of your hard work.

...Forgot to mention that I'm running Nvidia
