Even though VR is still kind of niche, I find it very surprising that nobody is offering pre built fully loaded VR pinball cabinets or even a flat pack or a barebones built cabinet. Any commercial virtual pinball cabinet builders out there reading this thread?

There are more and more people getting interested but may not have the woodworking or electronic skills to build a VR cabinet of their own.

This is a niche within a niche. I doubt there is much potential for mass production.

Just my 2cents..Many like myself are moving towards VR table build to actual Virtual Reality headset instead. Incentives are; cost, build efforts and extra space.

Honestly I think that once Zen releases the Williams tables in VR that will get enough interest in VR pinball to push cabinet makers to start offering VR versions.

Then we just need for the cabinets to support both Zen and VPXVR.

As headsets get higher resolutions, smaller and lighter, lower cost and hand tracking (which is coming to oculus next month) I believe there will be a big shift where more people will build or purchase VR pinball cabinets than three screen setups. These VR cabinets can be much less expensive thanks to not requiring any monitors. Many of us will already have the VR headset anyway and they take up so much less space.

Most of all, playing in VR is a much better experience than a flat cabinet monitor already but it will be a no brainer in the future as prices come down and VR headsets get better.

My Pinsim is the best thing I built in my life, but I doubt that it could be a commercial hit. I spent more than 150 USD and a lot of time on it. If you do not put an original lockbar and original sidebars on it, you probably still have to invest 70-80 USD for the material. Retail price has to be 200+ USD I think, + a lot of shipping. I doubt a lot of people are willing to spend that amount.

Maybe but Im in about 3k into my PinSim and still think it is well worth it. Also there is a decent amount of people that build those 3 monitor setups and spend 1000s of dollars on them and there is a market for selling these cabinets all over the Internet, eBay and even right here in this site.

I'm happy I tested the new medieval madness from Skitso and managed to add the dmd if it can hep I've found that the size of the textebox1 that we add is very very important :

I made it worked with

x:427

y:19

width:100

Height 40

Don't forget to tick he use script DMD

I needed to put the textcolor of the textbo box to ornage else it show grey and black

and it done  ^^ , enjoy this beast .

If you put Height 50 you get something that is icnredible big and if you pick other value for height an d Withd it just don't show up .... strange

Hope one time we will get the colorfull dmd running

In the script adjust the init with this(the position is very important (line 26)

Dim DesktopMode:DesktopMode = Table1.ShowDT
Dim UseVPMDMD
Const UseVPMModSol = 1
 UseVPMDMD = true

I've done the same change which work with totan4k, Jsute the size doesnt seem to have the sam impact  and the dmd is not very bright because the is no ligth on the dark version of the table

If you use a flasher instead of a textbox you can place it and size it any way you want.

I offer a fully loaded VR cabinet that can be played with out VR as well.

What do I miss here? I didnt start VPVR for a long time (2-3) month. Today I wanted to play again, startet VPVR as I used to start it, loaded the table and when I tried to start the table I got the error: "glad failed".

I just recognize that there was a bigger SteamVR update. You guys think this could cause the error? SteamVR is running, looks pretty different though. Is there anything I should check first?

Shouldn't be Steam, I just tested it with latest Steam and it works fine for me.

Glad is the OpenGL library, are you missing any of the other files that comes with the executable?

Done any changes to graphics card / drivers?

I'm subscribed to the Steam Beta updates and I play VPXVR pretty often and have not had any issues.

It's called that, "Flasher", it's in the object list but not on the backglass it's an object you place in the table designer.

I uploaded my VR version of Totan with full view cabinet and environment. Please let me know how it runs for you, since it contains very big textures and a reasonable extra amount of geometry:
