Hmm I think I saw this on older VP versions too...Will check it later

And another possible issue, but I may be mistaken and misinterpreting what should happen...

From what I have observed, my understanding is that RotX, RotY, and RotZ rotate the object in relation to the original object axes and ObjRotX, ObjRotY, and ObjRotZ rotate the orientation of those object axes in relation to the table axes... for example, with the upcoming update to the Hurricane table, I rotate the object in relation to the table on the Z axis (ObjRotZ) so it is properly angled in relation to the viewer, then I rotate the object on it's X axis so it turns round and round (RotX). Before the update that made this possible, if I used RotZ and RotX, I would get a wobbly wheel, so I needed a way to reorient the wheel in relation to the table (ObjRotZ).

I would expect ObjRotX, ObjRotY, and ObjRotZ axes to be static (always left/right, back/forward, and up/down, unlike RotX/Y/Z which can be modified by ObjRot), but I am experiencing that the ObjRotZ axis gets moved along with the object axes when ObjRotX or ObjRotY are modified and is no longer static.

with 9.2 r724 locks up when loading and old table,  secret service.  Does load up with 9 just fine.  Seems to freeze up when rendering

Have you tried Fuzzel's recent suggestion in the Secret Service FS topic yet?

725 has been uploaded...

Hey Fuzzy, did you get a chance to look into the ObjRotX bug? with it applying 7 times the value when it is in it's default box? and the fact that if you change any box to the new 'Obj' rotate selections, you can then only select RotX to replace it until you restart VP or reload the table?

not yet...I don't even understand why there are dropdown boxes because there are already 9 editable boxes. I would like to remove the dropdown boxes but I'm not sure if there are tables out there which redefine that order.

Hey Fuzzel, quick question...  :pardon: is there any chance of possibly getting the equivalent of dropwall functionality for static primitives? can it be done, and done easily enough? :Worship:

Nope sorry. That is not possible at the moment. Static primitives are rendered directly to the backbuffer like static walls. Adding dropable primitives would mean to add the same wall behavior to primitives. A method we want to remove by switching everything to dynamic elements.

Just thought I would ask :D... guess I wanted my cake and wanted to eat it too. /sigh It would have been nice to have a resting position for a primitive be set as static, then drop it and enable the movable primitive (and vice versa).

What about my idea removing the dropboxes and replace them by static text? Are there any tables which use a different setting of the rot/trans dropboxes?

It sounds good to me. I don't know any table that uses a different setting than the standard ones.

Yeah, the primitives are still new enough where I don't think anybody would have done much messing with them in a release table regarding the order of the modifiers.

Lol, I just get tired of typing out rotandtra each time, would be nice if there was a shorter version as well... like rt0/rt1/etc, obviously in addition to the existing ones for backwards compatibility.

ok try rev727. I removed the dropboxes and replaced them with static lables (RotX/Y/Z, TransX/Y/Z, ObjRotX/Y/Z). These labels can be used instead of .rotandtra0-8 from within the script ;) I think that makes the script a bit more readable.

And another bug fix! Rev728 fixes the issue that ObjRotX seems to be multiplied by 6 or 7.
