@WilsonB
Go to your registry and make sure your DDraw is set to 0 for this ROM.
Then start VP new and try again.

Thanks, I changed all tables to = 0 hex

Heres a crazy idea...

While in that awesome man cave, you walk up to the Donkey Kong - link to Donkey Kong Mame in VR ;-)

ok guys,i just read through 50 odd pages of this after hearing about it earlier today.

Ran into problems all night so would appreciate any help.

I have a VALVE INDEX with a GTX 1070,I7 6700k 16 gb ram.

I have a few tables running fine in desktop mode so it looks like VP works, however when i downloaded the latest version of VPVR and setup, the table looks as if its about to load the i get loads of "CONTROLLER" Script Errors, table doesnt load in VR due to this.

Having the same table work in desktop mode but not in VR is confusing me.

Are you using directB2s backglass on any of these tables that you get an error with?

Are you sure that you have everything set up properly?

In the settings under 'configure keys...' do you have CAPTURE EXTERNAL DMD checked? if not, try that. If this doesn't work try to check DISABLE B2S to see if that gets rid of the error.

What table are you getting this error? Usually when you get this error the script will show which line is problematic, do you see this?

Best Regards,

Guys a few questions here,i been at this all day and still having problems.

1.How do you recentre view in VR,all my tables that flash up are way off to the right and above the table.

2.Still getting so many script controller errors when playing most tables, yet they seem to work in normal desktop mode.

3.I have just built a Pinsim arcade button cab to play in VR,i have went to VR /preferences/configure keys and selected the keys to change, however when i manage to get into any game and play my button config seems to not work as intended ie The plunger button just taps the ball in the lane rather that pull right back to hit the ball (even if i hold my button in).

As to the above answer in the forum, yes i have capture external dmd checked....still get constant controller errors when i start a table in VR.

For recentering, there is a key binding available, check what it is under the preference section (I think it's "0" on the numeric keypad but not at my pc right now)

Did you read my above response?

For recenter go into 'Keys, Nudge, and DOF' and find 'Room Rec.' , you can bind whatever key or button you want to it but default is Numpad 0

Heya Pinball enthusiasts..

Thanks so much to you guys working on this and sharing.. I think it's a shame there is Pinball Table franchise wars constantly going on..and no good commercial VR pinball available.. Pinball FX is a joke..(shame they turn it into animation crap. Real Pinball Fans want the real thing..Lose all the special stupid effects and just make the physics and table as real as possible as originals instead of new fantasy crap.). Stern franchised out to FarSight Studio and the dev suck on oculus (Constantly broke with no attention)

Many can't afford a real tables or even spend $$ on a designated full size Visual Pinball nor like me have the space. VR is perfect solution..

So appreciate you guys for doing what you do.

Would it be possible to create a how to video / instructions picking up after Visual Pinball install and running.. Already have many videos on desktop version to get up and running to that point.

Seems were lacking good instructions on how to get started for VR, launch, work on VR Rooms and adding table, etc.. At least how to use whats already available.

We would get more content with more folks up and running..

Just a thought

Thanks so much..

Hi.

Im learning a lot from TerryRed on youtube and all the pinball sites like this.

This guy is great tbh,hes got many videos recently on tutorials which is fantastic,he goes over everything from Visual pinball to Future Pinball (even for people that dont know much about this).

This is the first guy i really like due to him taking his time in his videos so noobs can learn.

As for the VR side of this,im learning as we go,i just found out abouth this. I was about to build a pinsim using an old ipac so i can play this in VR.

But as above im still having problems getting tables to run in VR without the cotroller script errors.....but not so much help over the weekend thats worked yet.

Thanks for all the updates on the VR build of VPX, love the separate VR settings screen.

Has anyone else streamed this to a Oculus Quest with VD or ALVR.  I tried today for the first time in a while, and it was pretty good (not as good as CV1) but without a cable its great.

Hey Slydog,

How difficult of a process is it to stream VPX on Quest? Haven’t experimented with ALVR yet.

Check out Zaccaria pinball on Steam. Their VR implementation is superb. You actually grab the plunger in VR and pull it back.

I understand Zaccaria is working on an Oculus Quest version. They say they have a number of projects to complete beforehand, but I'm excited for this one nonetheless.

Pinball FX3 has the Williams Collection that they are doing.   So far no VR however but i'm sure it will eventually come.  As for the animations you speak of, you can just turn them off if you don't like them and play the original table without any special animations.

Did you install the latest VP and the latest VBS files that come with that?  Download the latest beta build and replace all files in your VP folder including scripts and VBS.

https://vpinball.com...s/vp-10-6-beta/

Also make sure you have the latest SAMBUILD of VPINMAME if you have issues running some newer tables.

I know there is a new VD beta coming anyday and will report back as I haven't streamed to the quest in a little while (pinball that is).  I stream many other steam games from years ago like BioShock, Portal, etc.

I actually really like playing Pinball FX2 VR with my "PinMicro" or "PinStubby" which play so well and I can do it almost anywhere.

Looks good..every time seeing these videos gets me excited.. Was wondering about something though, Im not a audiophile expert, but know that sound plays a big role in submersion experience. Most of the VP tables I have seen, the sound seems ambience could use some attention. Most I have seen, it sounds to clear and contained as if you were inside the machine. I believe the sound bytes and action sounds could be modified with a room echo ambience effect. Also making it more directional.

I believe that b2s only currently shows as static image in VR. I'm hoping that this gets resolved in a future VPVR update.

You can get a static backglass and a working DMD pretty easily.

My suggestion if you are new to it, copy the DMD from Addams family VR room version and paste it on AFM then after it is working adjust it so it is centered etc.
