In case you haven't heard it enough, you're doing a great job - the DMD is awesome.

I don't have a backbox cause my cab was made from a cocktail pin so no uvp or bs2 in my cab. So the ss on the dmd would be awesome for me.
But its not a big deal i can just do a mod to the ss and em tables to put the pinmame dmd on the back wall of those tables.

If i had more money id do a full sized cab but not for a long while

New dll uploaded. Once you run a game, it will add showpindmd to the key for the game you just ran.

For those not familiar, the registry settings are located at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Freeware
Visual PinMame
[gamename]

Once in the gamename key, you will see the showpindmd value on the right side (if you ran that game with this new dll)
Value of 1 shows the pinDMD. 0 turns it off and keeps the dmdlogo.txt shown.

We did not remove the com control, so the scripting (controller.ShowPinDMD = ) still works for the tables that dont use UVP.

Tried it and it works great! Such an easy solution!!

Hint: you can save yourself some time if you use PinScreenGen to open all your tables. Just have it output to a different folder than where your images are.
Then all you have to do is make the registry changes.

Does anyone have the Vishay plasma DMD? The LED ones are as rare as chicken teeth due to some unexplained rush in sales (Shoulda bought shares in Vishay ) and I might be able to get hold of a 12 Volt plasma one. Just curious to see how they look.

Hello maxxsinner, my 12v Vishay plasma arrived yesterday. It would have been hooked up last night but it didn't fit in my Williams surround (too wide). Will try and get it modified today and will post some picks up when complete, hopefully tonight.

The plasma itself is a lovely bit of kit... Quite heavy due to a piece of glass which covers the display. It also has a PC molex connector on the back which should make things easier.

i run the 192x64 12v plasma and absolutely love it!!! 100% pure original pinball

im gonna give future electronics a call later and see whats goin on with the vishay stock

Thanks thewool. Would love to see some pics and it never occured to me that it would already have glass over it.
Be great to hear what the go is with the Vishay displays russ if you hear anything. I have emailed 3 suppliers in Australia and 2 have said no longer stocking and 1 has not replied yet.

I'm really hesitant to RMA my display, (which has that faint vertical line on it) because Vishay is saying 6-8 weeks turnaround with all of the shipping etc...

I haven't got that far into the "conversation" yet. I've only sent them the link to page 1 of this forum post about 2 minutes ago.
I've only mentioned the current surge in demand and I asked if an LED version of the 192x64 display was on their road map.

I purchased my LED (red) display through canada.newark.com - which is one of their distributors but I think they are out of stock at the moment.

Stern has used the plasma 128x32 display for all titles up to AC/DC. From AC/DC until they change to LCD monitor, they are using a RED LED DMD.
This only requires one voltage (5 or 12, not sure) similar to the pinled displays. I am sure you can get these from Stern distributors if needed.

Just googled around. everywhere is still out of stock. too bad plasma needs the funky voltages... hopefully places start stocking these again...
