Just DL the new version. I think this is the first time I downloaded your version of this table by you, I can't believe it plays smooth here. You did an incredible job, I'd like the cue ball to feel heavier, but I wouldn't know how to go about that. smile.gif

Thanks for another amazing recreation.

Wow, Thanks, it plays great! I personally would not add the front ball image to the ball, since the balls seem to roll when standing still, but i like it how it is... I'll have a look at different masses for the balls, but i have a full schedule right now.

Oh... And Rascal found the bug about the glass height. I just spend some hours to find it (without finding)...

Thanks JP

Cupid

I sometimes see the "ball rolling on the spot" physics bug in other tables with the standard size ball and ball decals enabled. If you hold the ball still on a flipper you often can see it slowly rotating.

JP, probably a good idea to also include your old checkerboard ball with each table in case people prefer to turn off ball antialiasing, then you have both bases covered just in case.

Thanks again JP.

Yes, the old balls are included in the table smile.gif

About the black ball error falling off the platform: I can add a wall around the platform, the problem is that the ball can fall through the platform if it jumps, and that won't be easy to fix.

Thanks for the excellent table! biggrin.gif

I only have one problem though. The rom doesn't want to work with the table. It pops up but putting in quarters ain't working.

Try downloading the pre-configured nvram pack from this site. Just unzip this file into your nvram folder to resolve this issue for Gottlieb System 3 tables (which this one is) and Bally 6803 tables.

Here is the link to the pack: http://www.vpforums....u...l&f_id=1362

Nice table, but some problems were apparent right off the bat.

Slingshots = I originally written here that these didn't work at all. Turns out that it must be the problem mentioned above. I did get an extra ball early in the couple games I played (the EB is so easy to get), & it does seem that this disables the slings & maybe the bumpers. Maybe the whole tilt array for some reason?
Also I noticed the slingshot animation on the left has much darker looking rubber. Looks more like black rubber than white rubber. Turns out this is due to VP's "render shadows" option, which I usually disable for all tables, I disabled it & now the rubber is the correct color. But since this option is set within the vpt file, it might be a good idea to leave this disabled by default on your end.

Extra slingshots. You got 2 slingshots setup on the upper PF that don't exist in real life. Those should just be simple leaf switches. You should probably remove them from the tilt array as well. sw12 & sw13.

Missing drop target images. The bottom 4 right drop targets are missing the sticker, they are just plain white.

Glitch. This has happened multiple times already. I started a multiball & that 2nd launched ball comes in on top of the first ball, once they let loose that first ball just vanishes. POOF! Strange! Not sure that it happens every time. I think at least one time it didn't do this, but a ball vanishing from the PF is a pretty major glitch to say the least.

I also can't bring up the rules. It says in the download description to press "R" for rules but nothing comes up for me.

I had something pretty non realistic happen to me. I was trying to do a simple, delicate flipper pass & the ball bounced off the bottom of the slingshot rubber & made a ramp shot! Now that is one hell of a bounce considering I was trying to do a light flipper pass. Lastly a suggestion, not really noticeable at the top of the table, but the saucer on the bottom of the table in real life is a big, roomy saucer. Usually the ball rattles its way in there a little, or spins in there, then fires out once it settles. Of course this is VP, not real life. However maybe consider using a magnet to recreate this effect? I've had good luck using magnets to recreate saucer effects, though this gottlieb one is a bit different than others so I'm not sure how well it would work.
IDK, just a thought I had.

As for the nvram thing. I always thought that when one of these or the 6803 tables get released that it might be a good idea for the author to include the nvram pack & a readme. Cuz this is such a frequent problem, & it is a very confusing problem & the average user never figures it out unless they come on these forums & post about it. I'm a big fan of the average user being able to run tables right out of the box, plug & play! You never want to turn somebody off of a table cuz they can't get it working due to this nvram thing.

I just tried to do that myself on a new system....worked for me. That is strange.

Here is one other thing you can try:

When the table is rendered and the rom starts, press 7 to enter the rom adjustments menu.
Press the left shift key to move the cursor to game adjustments
Press the right shift key to select that opton
Press the 1 key twice then press F3.

That should get the nvram set to accept coins.

If that does not work, I don't know then what to tell you.

The game plays smooth for me, even multiball. But when I get pool ball mania 3 ball multiball, 2 balls meld together on the ramp, making the table play super choppy at about 2 frames a second, even after balls drains and the game is over, press new game and it is still choppy and unplayable, I must exit and restart the table to return to normal.

I also have won extra balls, the bankshot extra ball and the Horseshoe extra ball and the bumpers and slings continue to work for me, so far anyway.

I did set VPman to turn off ballroll decals and ball shadows and play at 1920x1080 16 bit for this particular game. VPman is great for setting individual VP table launching settings. smile.gif

While i don't have the problem with the Extra Ball (i got several in horseshoe EB Round), I have the problem with lost balls on the lower left part of the ramp, too.

Is there the option to play without the cue ball like on the real machine?
I haven't looked yet, just wondering.

1.21 Update 9 April 2011
- fixed black ball falling off the platform
- Fixed ball disappearing after the ramp lock
- Fixed the bumpers going dead after extra ball
- Made thicker the wall which keeps the white ball in place.
- removed the 2 extra slingshots, since they are leaf switches
