Not sure if this would help, but I'm a Video Producer, and have access to some pretty good capture hardware, ingests via hdmi directly into Final Cut and then have hardware accelerated Rendering I'd be willing to give things a go if your looking for a pure capture rather than using camtasia. i've used that before as well the hardware i'm talking about is a Matrox MX02 mini with Max, lets you record the input ie your xbox360 via hdmi but the same would work for a computer outputting a playfield via hdmi.

what are you looking for just a recording of the attract sequence of the playfield?

You might want to send a PM to bitupset since he's the one spearheading the video recording at the moment. He would definitely know how to answer that question.

I'll do a test tonight, I have to run a PC running the table into the mx02 which is connected to a macbook pro, fingers crossed it all works, and then i can do a recording and pop out a few exports. if it works, in game action video would be simple.

Just added my first table and tried simpsons night party, downloaded the media pack, added the table on the editor, all artworks says ok even the video, i can start it from hyperpin menu, the table images is there but dunno how to setup the video preview?

Open the settings file in the Hyperpin/settings folder make sure it says this:

Table_Video_Enabled = true

The video file name should match your "description" int the Hyperpin database XML file. (it will also match your backglass and wheel image names.)

Thanks mate! I knew it was something "simple" i missed lol, the only "thing" i have left is to figure out how to setup the activation for the animated backglass and i know how to setup hyperpin and visual pinball

i have aproblem... i downloaded 2 preview clips from Bitupset.... i can watch them with the vlc player perfectly.

BUT after i added the vids to hyperpin the playback is totally bad. like 2frames per second or less. normaly my specs coudnt be de reason

amd phenom ii X4 955 3,2 GHZ
4,00 GB DDR RAM
Saphire Radeon HD 5700 1gb

i build that pc just one year ago.

so maybe some changes in the settings.ini?

when i run the f4v with a player like the vlc player it runs smooth.
with the adobe media player it laggs as hell. nearly like in hyperpin

i really dont understand it..... complete new parts for cabinet and afterall the same stuttering videos?!

amd quadcore 3,2 ghz
ati 6570 2gb
4gb ram
totally fresh xp with direct x 9

and the videos look exactly like on my normal desktop pc. WHY O WHY

and it dosnt matter if its a 99mb video or a 50mb video all are stuttering with one frame per second

am i missing a specific videocodec software for hyperpin?! because with my vlc player everything looks smooth as hell

Sorry you have yet to get an answer on this. I, personally, have not used the video option of HyperPin, so I'm really no help here.

Looks to me like your system should easily handle it.

Wish I could help. But the two videos I tried worked great.
However I chose not to use them because they are lower resolution than my static shot.

ok, untill i solve the problem or anybody has a good idea im gonna go with the static jpegs aswell.

where did you get the picture from? did you made a screenshot of the table? in the normal hyperpin package included just a few statics.

If you open the video seperatly, does it play ?
It uses Adobe Flashplayer if I'm correct.
So probably installing latest flashplayer could cure your problem.

For static images I do the following.
Download the mediapack, as it has the flyers and instruction cards included too.
After that I make a fresh screenshot of the newer table, as the image included in the mediapack often is from an earlier version of the particular table.
After that I replace the table image in the media directory.
For a good Hi-Res collection of backglasses there are two links : Flying Dutchman and Chris's files.

He has talked about maybe updating that program to take a short video of your actual table as well.
If that happens someday it would be awesome.
But it is a great program for getting snapshots quickly.
