@wiesshund: i don´t think it depends on my setup. Latest JPs Ghostbusters Slimer uses music (ogg files) too and they are playing from the backglass position as they should.

very strange , i know ... :pokey:

It almost must

I played it on my old desktop.

Its has quadraphonic audio

backbox sound came out the front speakers, where it is supposed to

No strange volumes, no strange noises

it's the only multichannel setup that i can get to at the moment

i even put my wireless headphones on it and set vpx so backbox stuff would play out of those

and the backglass sounds came out the headphones and the table out the 4 speakers

and the only problem was, i couldnt hear the table well with the headphones on cause they cover your ears

I will test it on my normal PC, it has 7.1, over the weekend if i get some free time.

What is that supposed to be for?

Hey JP! Sorry if you see this comment twice.

Love the table! but I too also have issues with the table volume, crazy loud table sounds, no sound for rolling ball etc.. Here's the kicker, the table sounds perfect just running it from 10.7 latest beta, but launching it from popper its crazy loud. VPW just released a Maverick table and they had similar issues and fixed it in their latest version 1.1  see their changelog comments- https://vpuniverse.c.../?tab=changelog

Positional sounds are all wave files, only voices and music are ogg. You just need to use the latest beta. You must have an older beta of the VPX 10.7 which is the one running. That's an old bug that has been fixed. So just check your exe files.
I have the latest beta from the link you shared in the table comments - VPX_7_beta_rev249_rc.zip
Try the Latest 10.7
https://vpuniverse.c...ts#comment-4169
I originally had that version and went to the one JP mentioned to see if that worked. Still same so I went back. Does anyone have popper they can try to launch from and see if it happens to them too?
For Me the wav sounds are working But the OGG sounds are not working
When I play the game or in sound manager
https://www.vpforums...=47242&p=482515
@outhere Im having this exact same issue, how did you fix please?

Im running vpx 10.7 rev258 from thalamus dropbox link. I have 2 sounds cards, one for the backglass and one for ssf for the table sounds.

If I play the ogg files through the table audio rather than backglass audio from the test option in sound manager it plays fine.

This is the only table Ive ever had this issue on.

I'm running vpx 10.7 rev258, Windows 10
After I thought I fixed it
I was still having some issues, I had to go in and reset (Adjust) my sound cards
More than likely a windows update had wrecked havoc on my audio settings
I also have the 2 sound card setup

Thanks for the info, sounds like you have a similar setup to myself. Ill try and tweak my sound settings in windows, although everything looks correct when I checked them yesterday. Away for a few days so will check when Im back. Thanks.

Here is the backdrop I did for desktop users

deadpoolws0.jpg

INFORMATION: as the DMD is with the table, its location will change if you modify your desktop settings, so, fix them at first, and then translate the DMD for it to fit with its location on the backdrop

jpsalas - Once again what a nice game you built
Here is an updated script from version I.0.1  updated the solenoid DOF I separated some of the DOF and added a couple
Info at the top of the table script script

Two suggestions
Make it so the drop target reset does not work every time you getting a new ball if not needed
Add a timer for the free ball, So when the ball goes in the shoot lane It will wait a short amount of time before auto shooting

Download the up-Dated  -- JP's Deadpool 1.0.2

People with Solenoid DOF  -    DOF is now public
If you would like to add the DOF and start using it for the solenoids here is an image
Just remember ones it is publicly released you will have to Update this page because once you change something on a right it does not automatically update
By clicking on revert to default At the bottom of the page

JP, got the table to work, (looks and plays awesome) but I get a Bass DLL error on drive D or something to that nature which doesn't exist on my system (drive D that is) Anything that I can be missing? After I clear the error, the table plays fine.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to ask this question this morning after testing last night none of the OGG sounds are working
Try in 10.7  = r213 and r196 & r258
Other games with ogg sounds are working

My sounds are now working
In VP sound manger 10.7 was messed up but I still don't understand how other games could work and not this one but now they all work

I´m using this vpx version (rc258) too and ogg files are working. No problem so far.

But: the backglass positioning isn´t working. All the backglass sounds are coming as table sounds. Maybe there´s something else messed up with this vpx version?!

Thanks for this nice table release JP :Worship:

Not having any issue here with it, set it to play backbox out of speakers, and table audio out of headphones (laptop runs them independently)
and it worked fine.
Will test it on desktop with 7.1 audio, when i have time to actually turn on my desktop

Strange. Thanks for your testing ...

And strange too is: this is the one and only table with this behavior. All other tables are working as expected with backglass / table audio.

Try setting some of the sounds to table, and then back to backglass again?

In Sound manager I found five .ogg files set to table. Once i set them to backglass it worked fine.

UPDATE

1.0.2 Updated 17.07.2021
- fixed selecting battles with the StartGameKey does not add a new player on the first ball anymore.
- added extra DOF commands by outhere
- added outhere suggestion: do not reset lilDP droptargets between balls if it is not needed.
- added outhere suggestion: added a delay for the autoplunger so the ball waits a little before it is plunged.
- fixed "choose your battle" mode posible errors when in multiball.
- fixed the posibility if lilDP targets being down after lilDP multiball.
- added: open the top gates when starting lilDP multiball, due to the hurry up.
- fixed sound problems by setting 5 ogg files to the backglass (thanks to Gazzamac for finding them)

There may be still some small bugs here and there when all the multiballs can run at the same time :), so just keep reporting the problems you find :) And if you see something that can be improved then just say so :)

For those running LCD DMD displays who are mentioning the DMD is hard to see.
Set your self up accordingly, and the DMD can resemble a mini SPIKE2 display

For best results, have freezy's 1.9 DMD extensions installed, 1.8 does work, 1.9 gives much more display control
I know the link to 1.9 dmd extensions expired, but i have a copy of it here if someone needs it
https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing

I know VPUniverse has a copy also, if you dont want mine.

Have the latest flexDMD installed
Either the Release, or the Snapshot
This is the release version
FlexDMD.zip

Now in JP's table script, set the option to use the high rez DMD

Const FlexDMDHighQuality = true

That is all for the table itself.

Now size and place the DMD, make sure to right click to save position
Then right click again to customize style.

You can set to your liking
These are the relevant settings to look like the below though

DOT Size 2

DOT Rounding 0

DOT Sharpness 1

Set brightness, DOT glow and Gamma to suit your monitor

it will vary from person to person

You will then have a very SPIKE2-ish DMD display

If you prefer a more traditional look
You will need to play with the DOT Size, Rounding and Sharpness for what you consider an acceptable appearance

And if you want it very old school DMD like, DO NOT enable the high resolution DMD
But personally i think JP's DMD art is too nice to do that to since it reduces the pixel count by half.

The 1.0.2 update is fantastic! The audio separation issue (Backglass vs table sounds ) is resolved . All works really well!

I am amazed there is no stutter at all even with the disco light on .

Tip: if you have stutter and are running VPX with vsync=1 experiment with ALSO turning Vsync to ON in the NVIDIA graphics settings. It makes quite a big difference for me! (my setup has a GTX 1650, 1080p).

@wiesshund how did you get the backglass to show the grille to place the DMD onto? Is it as simple as, right-click, VISIBLE for Grille?

Hi Jp,

again thank you for this great table.

I played it this morning a lot and it's also very enjoyable in my opinion.

I experienced something like a bug after some games:

Lil’ Deadpool stopped to talk at all, even starting a new game it was mute after that. I had to exit to PinballX and launch the table again to get it talking back.

I never had the issue again, so I can't help you with more info about this. Maybe the table was in multiball mode and there were more voices speaking at the same time, but I can't be sure that was the culprit of the issue.

Any suggestion about what it could happen?

Have a great day.

Massimo
