The pro rom (searched for Transformers) was huge on Stern's website like 6GB or so. I downloaded it and it said I had a corrupted file system after copying it to the roms directory (after renaming the zip) when I tried to run the game. DMD was missing too, table loaded, but nothing else did.

Guess you have downloaded the rom file for the new "TRANSFORMERS: More Than Meets the Eye".  But  you need the  rom  for  the  older table, called just "Transformers" (NOT TransformersLE), it's 22,1MB. It's a bit confusing because there is no rom file called "TransformersPRO"
