You are using the 2-screen backglass.

With Teamtechnic's 3-screen version, the same problem is present as with the other ones.

It sounds like others also have problem with 10.8, while the same backglasses work fine with 10.7

It is correct that this doesn't look like a table issue, but a VPX one.

Just tried it on my desktop machine - 10.8 64bit rev1836, copied the table from my backup drive of the cab and I had no issues with db2s or any of the virtual dmd's.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

No, i am 100% absolutely not

I just said i am using TeamTechnic's backglass

Which is 3 screen, which you can clearly see in the picture, because i have the DMD portion WAY out of proportion.

My best guess is either some people have a bad backglass, which happens, they are only text files, they can get corrupted.

Or they dont have all things up to date for doing the 10.8 beta, which needs VPX to be on at least a recent build, vpinmame to be on a recent actions build, b2s server to be on the latest actions build, and flexDMD to be on the latest actions beta build.

I'm using:

VPX 10.8 beta 8 (rev. 1836) 64-bit

VPinMAME 3.6.573 64-bit

B2S Server 2.1.0

None of the available 3-screen backglasses for this table show the score segments.

When running VPX 10.7.4 with everything else being the same, those backglasses all show the score properly. So, this tells me that VPX 10.8 has some compatibility issue with this single backglass, and based on posts by others I'm not the only one with this problem.

That is all.

VPX 10.8 beta 8 (rev. 1836) 64-bit

VPinMAME 3.6.573 64-bit

B2S Server 2.1.0

B2S server 2.1.1 is the current

VpinMAME i think i am running 3.6.666

VPX I am running 10.8.1841 and also have 10.8.1828

In both 64 and 32 bit

None of the available 3-screen backglasses for this table show the score segments.

I just showed you the available 3 screen Teamtechnics backglass

You can see the score segments displaying fully.
I know the pictures are showing up

When running VPX 10.7.4 with everything else being the same, those backglasses all show the score properly. So, this tells me that VPX 10.8 has some compatibility issue with this single backglass, and based on posts by others I'm not the only one with this problem.

That is all.

I have it working on 2 entirely dissimilar desktops, and one of them not a terribly good desktop at that.
It works fine, on both.

Works on my laptop as well.

I'd be more inclined to look at something not updated fully, mismatched or bad outdated config etc.

Thalamus even threw it on his desktop, with no issue, and i dont even think he had it set up before hand?

That HF backglasss doesn't show any alpha num here - in 10.8 or 10.7.

That is in desktop mode. I'm using cabinet mode, and I guess the others too, who have problem with this backglass and 10.8

If I switch the video preferences to desktop, then the backglass works OK for me as well in 10.8, but in cabinet mode, the score segments get lost.

As I said earlier, this proves to me that the problem is clearly with 10.8, because running 10.7.4 in cabinet mode works fine.

const SingleScreenFS = 1 and the db2s I used (expect it is regular Wildman), works in cab mode. HF's version - no go.

I am thinking maybe you might have your table options wrong for cab mode?

'**********************Options********************************

'Graphics options

Const GraphicsLevel = 4	'Between 0 and 4, (Default: 3)
'0 - The barest minimum (will be really dark, turn up day/night slider)
'1 - Low / balanced flashers and GI elements
'2 - All Flasher and GI Elements
'3 - All + GI Ball Reflections + backglass flasher glow + GI compensation
'4 - All That + Habit rail Shadow

const VPXdisplay = 1 'Enable/Disable VPX display. Disable for performance. (Default: 1)

FloatingScores = Table1.ShowDT 'Enable/Disable floating text scores  (Default: Table1.ShowDT)
'Does NOT play nicely with B2S at the moment.
'(In a multiplayer game, floating text will only appear for player 1)

Const OldSidewalls = 0 'Restores the old diffuse GI sidewall reflections. More perspective safe. (Default: 0)

Const LoadColorsOverride = 0 'If 'Loadcolors' is erroring for some reason, set this to 1 (Default: 0)

'More options:

const SingleScreenFS = 1 '1 = VPX display 2 = Vpinmame display rotated (Default: 0)
const BackGlassFlasher = 1 'Enable / Disable the backglass rocket flasher in DT mode (Default: 0)
SoundLevelMult = 1 'Increase table SFX (normalization)

'you can switch GI types in-game by pressing the right magnasave with the left magnasave held down

this is what i have

That is HauntFreaks B2S i am using by the way in that screenshot

True, that setting fixes the missing segments on the backglass (for me even with HF's version). The only problem is that this also comes with the unwanted effect of the scores appearing on the playfield.

This is also visible in wiesshund's screen shot above, and I couldn't find a setting that would disable it when const SingleScreenFS = 1 is set.

I can help you there, Sort of

If you disable floating scores, you notice you have a display that wont vanish, sits down near bottom of table

Says 555555 on it

If you enable it, then it moves up and fades out and you have floating scores

Ok so, i do not know why it becomes visible, i could not find it in a quick look at the script

it looks like it should not but it does, and i dont have time to learn the script, cause there is an ass load of stuff in it for all the score stuff

But

It is these flashers in Layer 1

100 amount 12000 opacity

If you change them to 0 and 0, they will cease to exist for you

they are already non visible by default, but someplace in the scrip they turn back on

just not sure where exactly

i amputated chunks of script and made them go away, but that isnt the right thing to be doing.

Just sort of a guess but, i suspect a timer comes on, begins to address them, and then gets the message to turn off, and just leaves the frozen and visible down there.

might be an issue of the order in which things take place, not sure

But you can make them disappear harmlessly doing the below.

It's Nfozzy's table, so i'd rather not to monkeying around with his script, and then offering it as some kind of update to his stuff.

Plus, it is his table, and he knows his script and how it all works, he could adjust it easier.

PS

I am not 100% sure what he has going on there, that is garbling up what B2S see's

I thought i had it twice, but i was wrong.
‹He has a lot of stuff going on to manage the floating scores thing and what not.

No mirroring of the scores on the playfield?

That would be strange, and this is the problem that makes this trick not work for me.

I suppose my solution will be running this single table with 10.7.4 instead of 10.8

I was able to remove scores appearing on the playfield by setting const SingleScreenFS = 1 and changing line 1854 (v1.21) from this:

x.visible = 1

to this:

x.visible = 0

Note: I'm in cabinet mode using Wildman's 3screen B2s

Note: It will be line 1787 if you are using Space Station (v1.1)

Note: I have also noticed that without making any of the above changes, if I do a rom restart (F3) right after the table starts the DMD issue goes away.
