Bang bang

Taking my time on this one, only about an hour and a half tonight

I like this part, the slingshot launches the balls right to a 4 bank drop target array and the artwork on the table lets you know about it

Amazing work freneticamnesic!!  :otvclap:   You have convinced me to buy a drawing tablet for my PC now.  Never used one but sounds like they work great.  Well done on your build progress.

Well I finished up my other projects, still working on the Jolly Park redraw in between actually enjoying playing some pinball. It's been a while since I did that... T_T lol

I would like to share....my first attempt at 3d modeling (the submarine) .... lol It's done in milkshape, pretty simple shape but not sure about the texture. I just suck at that and probably always will. Still looking for someone willing to model the bumper car pop bumpers for me, otherwise you may all be subjected to more of my attempts

So going to take my time on these builds, I don't think there's much demand for them so I just want to do them right to my liking. Probably going to work on another build for release before these two anyways

Playfield looks great! I was comparing with the database pics and you have faithfully nailed that. The sub is pretty good but as you indicated the textures are a little off and possibly the color.  Just an observation as you seem to be asking. It's already way better than I could ever do.   I'm looking forward to playing this, but I never like to rush an artist with his masterpiece!

I could use some help reading the rom for VW - solenoids are not listed in the manual and I suck at navigating the menu on these Spinball roms.

Please, if you can help me with a small contribution to update my work team and continue to make more tables I will be eternally grateful.

Great pictures

I am still working on these tables, still finishing the redraw for Jolly Park, and building the tables for Verne's World. They're fairly complex

There are a lot of primitives that are needed for both as well so I am moving slower than I'd like

These will help me finish the Jolly Park playfield redraw, I was having a hard time with the details on the upper area of the playfield but these have more details of that area now. Thanks

I'm much farther on the Jolly Park redraw than my last update, I've just been quiet :)

Jolly Park looks like it could be a challenging build!  Three levels, lots of ramps and toys.  The table looks like it would be a blast to play, but I don't envy you building it one bit.

Really looking forward to watching this one come to life! :)

Started back on the Jolly Park redraw. I'll probably finish the playfield this week, it shouldn't have taken this long but I've had other projects....

I'm probably not going to do too much on the build for now until vp10 comes out. Still need a lot of primitives for both tables, unfortunately no one seems to be interested. I can't blame them, they're very uncommon tables, so hopefully I can really learn some decent modeling while I build. For Jolly Park I really just need the bumper cars. There's 2 models on the right side of the table, one is a house kinda thing and a more complex haunted house. The houses would be fairly easy, I think I have enough pictures to do them. I definitely have enough resources for the bumper cars. But as you can see, I suck at modeling...

I need some help with models, I've got a decent volcano model but it looks like butt in VP

HtYhDaa.jpg

left - normal, mid - sphere map, right - real table

PncQr3O.jpg

this is how it looks in photoshop when I texture it

I understand that I need to apply this look manually, that VP won't give it the plastic look, but....how? I only have Blender and photoshop

Well depending on how patient you can be with the models, I can lend some help.  I just don't have as much time and energy for this stuff that I had just a few months ago, so if you can be patient with the rate of progress give me your resources and I'll see what I can do.  Give me a priority list and I'll try to work down it, like for example you say you need help with the bumper cars more than anything?...I'll start with that.

Depending on resources I think majority of the 3D elements you need should be fairly easy to reproduce realistically, the only fairly complex model looks to be the bumper cars, the volcano would be easy to model just mapping it nicely will depend on the photos.  The metal walls you have already could have their appearance greatly improved just by optimizing some UV coordinates with some good metal textures.

You helped me recently with decal redraws for the hook ramp (promptly I might add) and since I abandoned the Captain Bzar project since fuzzel got good 3D scans of it, I don't see any reason not to return the favor and make this a priority.

Thanks dark. I will be replacing the walls with primitives actually (I like the way they look on my other builds) so those will definitely improve. I'm obviously taking my time on these builds, I've postponed them to VP10 so now I'm just working on getting all the resources together. I'll share what I have, I think the volcano model works fine it just needs to look prettier. The bumper cars are crucial, to me, because they actually move and have some interaction on the Jolly Park table. Everything else, possibly pending a few more great pictures, I can probably do. I should learn to at least do the simpler primitives. The submarine is satisfactory to me, it is stationary, maybe I can improve the texture I certainly have plenty of images.

Here's the bumper car resources for Jolly Park https://app.box.com/...d3pp6fsue9hfvu7

Here's a rar with all the Verne's World toys (most images thanks to akiles5000) https://app.box.com/...pcbxbjd5mhva9vc

Here's the model I was using for the volcano https://app.box.com/...qy1od75kss0ebji

And texture https://app.box.com/...xcd77snf0nbnmnv

If you got the bumper cars I'd be super happy. Thanks for taking a look

The volcano I'm only asking for help on because it's so close, I'm spending my time off learning this stuff though, I want to achieve the realistic look of the toys on my tables, I can't imagine using a still image as has been done in the past.....

The bumpercars will be the priority and I'll try to begin work on them soon, I'll see what I can do to improve other models from there.  I don't think the volcano will be difficult to get looking nice.

You have pretty good resources for this, typically it seems I'm accustomed to working with slightly less than adequate resources so I should be able to get pretty good results with these resources.

Tell me, does that octopus's tentacle toy in the rock top right move?

It does (it just moves in and out of the cave)... I actually found a usable model that also needs texturing, if you're interested in doing that one I'd appreciate it but I don't have many resources for him so I wouldn't worry too much if you can't

https://app.box.com/...c5qnlj8kcv4bner here it is converted to OBJ

here are the original files (2 parts for some reason: https://app.box.com/...wdixg4sv5p5r0pr and https://app.box.com/s/41p1g3d7equq22pfdfsp

I did get lucky that akiles had such ability to get great pictures of the machine, he also provided almost all of my pictures for Jolly Park, enough from both tables to do a complete table and plastic redraw.
