It's very strange I agree  :\

I'll try grouping the flasher highlights with other flasher objects that are assigned to same light to reduce total flashers to see if it makes a difference later today.

See if the order of objects has changed between 1.0 and 1.1.  Right click on the area and in the bottom you see the list of overlapping objects - see if the listed order is different and make it the same again using send to back or send to front...

Thanks joe, appreciate the response but I've already made a fix for this by combining flasher highlights into fewer flasher objects.

I think administration needs to re-verify it for some reason with last update, just be patient and check back later.   ;)

[edit]: working now.

It's Javier's table I just helped it shine with lighting effects and a realistic recreation of the toy crane....which I couldn't of modelled and mapped so accurately if it weren't for Javier's great resources since he has a friend who owns the table!  So you know between Javier and me we spent a lot of time getting that crane perfect! :P

Just had a great game (for me anyway) of over 260 million.  It was pure bliss Javier, just awesome.  My wife isn't too much into pinball and yet she was super impressed too!

Question: I mentioned before the crane works very well but its not perfectly smooth, especially at the beginning.  Is this something that is limited as having it too smooth would make the game play jerky?  ie: those with strong enough pc's, is a smoother crane doable?  this is not a complaint, the crane is nicely animated, I am curious though if it is the way it is because of limitation of controlling the crane via pinmame/vp or another issue entirely.

The crane animation has a pretty smooth frame rate and is very similar to the real thing,  I think Javier tried to simulate it vibrating a bit, because the real thing is supposed to shake profusely so much so that it would often loose the ball by accident (virtual lock takes this into account).  The table had some serious shaker motors installed in it.

When you describe it as not perfectly smooth do you mean it has crappy frame rate...like it skips along?  Or that it appears kind of shaky?

This thing would actually shake so much it would often loosen the set screw inside the crane (since only 1 set screw was used) so if it wasn't installed with locktite(sp?) it would almost always shake loose eventually.  It wouldn't be uncommon for users who had a LAH in their home to disable the shaker motor, because it was noisy and could be annoying outside of an arcade environment.  You'll notice in the dmd this table advertises for Tales from the Crypt, they put a shaker motor in that table as well....and I think they did this also for Jurassic Park but I'm not 100% on that one.

On my rig (i7 3.5-3.9ghz and nvidia 570) it seems to not draw every frame for the first 2/3 of its movement, like it is skipping some frames. Then, it works very smooth. It def does not feel like its a "Shake" simulation.

Anyone else have noticed the crane's performance as "not perfectly smooth but good enough" (I can't really stress this last part enough!)
Jurassic park has the shake motor too, I think Apollo 13 as well?

hmmm that's too bad it moves smoothly for me but I have fairly hefty hardware for a mini sized pincab.  You don't get ball stutter though do you?

Nope, no ball stutter at all. I will have to experiment with some settings, but thanks for the feedback

You can play with the crane in the diagnostics menu, pressing key "7" will open the menu, some times it opens audits & adjustments instead so I think you need to hit 8 first but once you cycle through the options and get to crane, you hold enter to swing it back and forth.  The Crane is a fairly large animation in terms of the space it takes up on the screen but the model is about as low poly as it can get without sacrificing detail so it shouldn't be too demanding.

You can't actually adjust anything with the crane in the diagnostics, you can just play with it, but thought it might help you look in to it.

Last night, I was playing more of this gem of a pin, doing fairly well. At one point during one of the multiballs I ended up getting a stuck ball, I believe the ball went up the crane orbit, got projected over to ten top right wire ramp and promptly got stuck. Without nudging the ball seemed to be jumping around a bit, nudging would make it jump around more, but would not release the ball. Unfortunately, a "doh!" Moment: I pressed print screen to get a snap of it but forgot to save it after I exited the table (it was rather late ;)).

I took a second to use the table screenshot provided in this thread, circled the area where the ball got stuck and the cropped it to emphasize the area. Apologies if I didn't supply the original pic.

After this game, I ended up watching the bluray of the movie. Like the real world pinball, the movie is def not the best Arnold movie, but it's enjoyable and has its moments.

Hate the backglass though but as I recall, there was a decent alternate backglass made for the real pin so time to see if a db2s has been made using it.
