O.K. I just tried out the new version and WOW all plays as it should and much harder than a real machine. At school it was real easy to rack up free games especially with 5 balls and the star special rolling over from ball to ball. Oh to be young again.

Here's a little something to compare your scores with ...

UR and I try to make our tables play as real as possible.

Just remember F3 crashes the table at this point, until I can figure out why ...
Adjust the settings using the fullscreen version.
It shouldn't crash.

LOL!

Nope. Just a bug in the display routine.

I have a question about the ball and the magnet. Should the ball need to be near before the ball sucked to it? Sometimes the ball hit the trigger and never got sucked in. The light and talking just go without the ball being catch. Happen on the real table?

Man, this version is bloody difficult. I can't even crack 100K on this. I so do much better on the the PHOF version for Playstation 3. smile.gif

For what it's worth, the rubbers are livelier, the ball feels slower (not sure if it really is or not), and the flipper angles are much less backhand-y on the PS3. Flipper gap might be a hair smaller, too.

See this video of the xbox 360 version to get an idea of how it plays:

Are you comparing it to the xbox version? How does the sbox version play in comparison to the real machine? I am pretty sure this was modeled after the actual machine, not a virtual one.

I love this version. UW's was good but this one is better.
Well done Noah (as always)!

To my eyes, the xbox/ps3 version (the two are identical) is much closer to this real machine when it comes to the rubber liveliness and flipper angles.

The higher the back legs are the harder to keep the ball in play. The ball can go straight to the drain.

I real life rubber bounciness depends on age, and flipper angels are adjustable.

I just grabbed this and it is a very nice rendition.

My only gripe (and it is a very small gripe) is that the backdrop is a bit too dark IMO. It looks like guys you were going for an "at night" look, and I can appreciate that. However, this would look as close to perfect as you can get if the backdrop were to have a similar lighting effect as the playfield.

Not a dealbreaker by any means, the table looks and plays great.

Got 150,450 on my first game, so for me that's not too bad.

Apologies in advance for going a bit off-topic, but IMHO, trying to compare VP/VPM versions of tables with the PHOF versions seems a bit pointless.

With the PHOF tables, you had a team of developers working on each table, so even though each table is different, there will likely be some consistency in how each table plays, and their interpretation of physics would be consistent with each table. Since they develop for consoles, their goal is to appeal to the mass market so they can sell as many copies as possible, so it stands to reason that the difficulty of each table would be a bit easier to better reach the mass market.

With VPM tables, the overall difficulty and how the table plays is dependent on the author who builds it. Different authors build tables in different ways, and they interpret the physics and how the real machine plays in different ways. If two different authors build the same table, each will likely play completely differently as each author's interpretation of the table is different, one may use the difficulty-changing settings in the VP editor (the global difficulty, scatter angles, etc), where the other will not.

Just as an example...Tales of the Arabian Nights. On the 360 PHOF version, I've gotten to and beaten the last mode (rescue the princess if memory serves), where on JP's VPM version I haven't gotten anywhere near that far.

Take Care, and excellent work dblthumb.gif
