Update on the Rift S since owning it for a week plus now...
Not much has changed as far as my opinion and suggesting buying it if you already have the CV1. Don't. It's just not worth it IMO if you plan on using it for mostly VP. ![]()
The major issue is with the "Z" or table height always changing which is a massive pain in the ass and most defiantly a deal breaker for VPVR. Every single time I want to play it or show someone I have to re-adjust and guess what height to set it which takes multiple times taking the headset on/off, on/off, on/off. Sucks.
Not being able to adjust brightness or contrast with the now milky gray LCD screens sucks as well. Not an issue per say if there is a room in VPVR like TAF or normal games but watching a movie on Bigscreen, horror games or anything with the majority of the screen black i would almost welcome back the God rays in exchange for the milky blacks of the Rift S. Ridiculous.
With the new headphones installed Koss Porta Pros the sound is back to normal but still have some tweaking to do on the 3d designed 3d prints for the brackets and cable management so if you are looking to upgrade the sound and use the Koss Porta Pros I can send you the file to 3d print.
Tried playing TOTAN this weekend in VR and for some reason I can't get it too work. The table just starts nudging like crazy the moment the table loads even after I turned all of the nudging options to zero in the editor?
